Psalm 34:3

Today I was determined
to start using by some old supplies and the first thing I picked up was a tag I did last week. Not exactly ancient, but I thought I could work a journal page around it. This is what I came up with...

I started by applying gesso
to the pages, drying with my heat tool, then rubbing on several colors of acrylic craft paint with my finger, blending them together. When dry, I dropped on dabs of Color Wash, Butterscotch and Wild Plum, sprayed them with water, then gave them a shot of air (blowing through a straw). Next I used half of my Balzer Designs Mini Poppies stencil by Crafter's Workshop...

dabbing on it with Snow Cap Dabber Paint from Ranger to form the flowers. Outlined them with an extra soft charcoal pencil and smudged the lines with my finger to shade. Rubbed Jet Black Archival ink along the edges of the pages then stamped with Dina Wakley's Create with Abandon rubber stamp.

Used a star stamp with Wild Honey Distress Ink to add more texture.

The tag was made
using Linda Coughlin's technique (Frilly and Funkie) she posted here. The Distressed Inks are Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Brushed Corduroy. I finished with stamping the date at the bottom of the right hand page.
Remember... these steps can be used to create a card or a layout, too!
I'm now on my way to using up my aged stash!

Birdie Darling

Today I used a mix
of elements from Prima and Glitz to make this card.

The card base is
white canvas textured Core'dinations cardstock. The designer papers are Fairy Belle "Le Toulle" from Prima and Vintage Blue "Rose" from Glitz. I distressed the edges with my paper distresser and sponged them with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

The Birdie Darling die-cut
is a Glitz Vintage Blue Whatnot that I purchased from Audrey Pettit's Your Crafty Friend's Etsy shop. The chair is a Prima Printery chipboard piece and the rose lace trim is from our local Pat Catan's store.

I embossed the Canvas
Corp mini bag with the Textile Texture folder by Cuttlebug and sponged Faded Jeans DI on the raised pattern. The round and the No. pieces are Prima's Fairy Belle chipboard stickers. The paper heart doily is from my stash.

I covered the the
size #5 manila tag with Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, blending the two together then spraying it with Baby Blue Eyes Aqua Starburst Spray. I stapled on a Glitz Vintage Blue Peek-a-Boo and added a white crinkled seam binding bow and a Prima Vintage Trinket birdcage.
This card has been a journey in itself... loved making this one!
I have a ton of odds
and ends I need to put to use. I have a goal of digging into all these older bits that are lying around on my shelves and making something useful of them. Hopefully you'll see some projects here soon made from my stash.
Have a great Thursday, friends!

Thanks for the visit!

Smiles

As I've said before,
I've broken out the Prima Fairy Belle Collection and can't get enough. Here is another card made from that heavenly paper...

The flowers are
from I Am Roses, the rhinestones are TPC Studios and the lace heart is from Linda Coughlin's (The Funky Junkie) shop. The lace is from my stash.

The dies used are:
Alterations- Vintage Doily, Mini Tickets Set, Mini Butterflies Set. The Distress Ink is Faded Jeans. The doily was cut from crinoline.
I hope you have
a grand Tuesday evening... it's been a beauty here in Ohio tonight.

Thanks for the visit!

Fairy Belle Love

I'm still working
with Prima's Fairy Belle Collection and I'm entering today's card at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #33. I really cut this one close as it ends on Tuesday. Check out the Design Team and Guest Designer's projects... fabulous!
 I added the Deuteronomy
verse to the inside of my card because I wanted all of 32:2 through 4. Here it is...

I cut a doily with
the Alterations Vintage Doily Die and topped it with a 4inch paper one from my stash. I sponged Tattered Rose Distress Ink on the edges as well as on all the papers.

The crocheted lace
is by American Crafts and the ribbon from Michaels. The pearl baubles and mini paper clip are Ideaology, the heart trinket pin is by Maya Road and the flat-backed pearls are by Queen & Co. The feathers are from a mixed package I purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Deuteronomy 32:2-4

A few more shade garden  photos...

Looks like the old
clubhouse needs a coat of paint. It's funny in that this house was for our kids, but they didn't play in it that much. Now the grandkids are doing the same. The most expensive toys seem to be the least used ones. At least Cassidy likes hanging around it!

Thanks for the visit!

Another Time After Time Entry

I broke out my
Prima Fairy Belle Collection papers and chipboard die-cuts and ended up making another card to enter in City Crafters Challenge #114... Time After Time. The challenge is to use a clock somewhere on your project.

This has a kraft cardstock
base and ivory textured cardstock mat. I used my paper distresser on the edges as well as Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

The trinket pins are by
Maya Road, the ribbon is from Michaels and the lace is Webster's Pages. I again used my Alterations Vintage Doily... the most used die I have at the moment.

This clock is another
from that package by Prima... LOVE these! I added a Teresa Collins brad to the center (cut off the tabs and glued in place). The jewels on the corners are by TPC Studio.

Now for a few photos...

Introducing baby Faith
to my craft room... I have to get her geared up for future hours she will spend in here.

The shade garden
is looking it's best right now with daylilies opening everywhere.

The lawn, however,
isn't doing as well... just not enough rain here this year.

How about joining
me for a cold lemonade or a cup of tea? I love it out here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

City Crafter Challenge #114

City Crafter's hostess
for this week is birthday girl Cheryl, and she has given us a challenge of Time After Time... use a clock somewhere on your project.

I pulled out Graphic 45's
12x12 Communique paper pad and went to work. I love the versatility of this paper collection.... here I teamed it with kraft and black textured cardstock.

I used my paper distresser
and Black Soot Distress Ink on all the edges.

The clock is a combination
of a tag from the paper pad and a Prima Decorative Wood Embellishment Clock.

The doily and car were
cut with Alterations Vintage Doily Die and Old Jalopy & Arrow Mini Die Set.
Be sure to check out
all the lovely creations by the CCCB Design Team and Guest Designer Ira Huberts... you'll love her blog!

The Last Jump Starter

Today I finished the
pages of my CJS Journal that are of the Jump Starters themselves... #28 being Emma Trout.

I only have a few more
blank pages in this book to work on, then I'll have to purchase another. I think this journal will always be dear to my heart, being my first.

Thanks for the visit!

Working On My Journal

After all the excitement
over the weekend, I am finally feeling a bit more rested. We had our grandson, Grayden, staying with us while our daughter was in the hospital and he had come down with the worst cough. Needless to say, we didn't get a lot of sleep... and my plans of doing special, fun things with him didn't happen. They are all happily reunited now, and enjoying that new baby. Grayden called me last night and wanted to know what I had made for dinner... at least my cooking made an impression. Love that boy!

Now a few new pages...

I did some work
in my Creative Jump Start Journal yesterday... a little more playing with the inks. I really need to get some cards made, but can't seem to put down these sprays and stencils.

Thanks for stopping by!

Best Wishes

The new challenge at
Frilly and Funkie is to use this Inspiration Photo...

Here is my interpretation...

Along with Core'dinations
Kraft-Core Nostalgic Collection cardstock I've teamed Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante... Fantasy Floral, Eclectic Emporium and SD Tags. I fussy cut several of the roses on the FF paper and layered them with 3-D foam squares.

The rhinestones are
TPC Studio Girlfriends Mini Jewels. The inks used are Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress with Jet Black Archival on the Best Wishes tag. Black organza ribbon and lace are from my stash. The piece of the white paper doily I found in my scrap box.

I cut the butterfly with
MFT Die-namics Butterlies Die and topped it with a thick coat of Twinklet's Diamond Dust. I also used Alterations Vintage Doily Die and Spellbinder's Large Classic Scalloped Circles.
Check out the beautiful
projects the Frilly Team has made for the week here... and then join me in entering.

Thanks for the visit!
