School Memories Mini Album

Here is the first completed
album of the four I have been working on for the last couple of weeks. I had a slight delay in finishing this because I decided I needed the Prima School Memories flowers and had to order them online. I placed the order with A Cherry on Top and got excellent service... they came within a few days. Love that!!!

As I said, the album is
created using Prima's School Memories collection... both 12" x 12" and 6" x 6" papers, and is for our granddaughter, Penny, to put in all her school photos and treasures.  The cover is loaded with layers and includes a My Mind's Eye brad, Idea-ology Muse Token with a Long Fastener, Prima Serenity flower, Artisan Chipboard Stars from Pink Paislee, May Arts ivory burlap string, a Prima wood button from the Engraver collection and some Petaloo blooms. I made the oak leaves with a Martha Stewart punch and used my Stub Corner Chomper to make the ruler ticket.

The album cover was made
following Laura Denison's instructions for a wrapped cover and the pages are put together using her Stack the Deck process. I gave the cover a coat of Golden's Matte Gel Medium for durability. I don't want those alphas falling off.

The base of these pages
are Paper Studios kraft bags in the 4.63" x 2.88" x 8.63" size.

I created a pocket on the
inside cover and tucked in two photo mats. The alphas are by Crate Paper.

Each of the kraft paper bag
pages have a folded over flap that creates a shallow pocket to tuck in a journaling tag....

and a double pocket at the end
of the page that holds two double-sided photo mats.  The tabs on the photo mats are made from a 2" x 1.5" piece of kraft cardstock and punched with the Scallop Corner Chomper and the small hole on the Crop-A-Dile. The metal 4 is from Idea-ology and the brad is by My Mind's Eye.

Another My Mind's Eye
brad holding this mini notebook together. The tiny blooms are from Petaloo.

These tags are from the Graphic
45 An ABC Primer collection and are tied with red May Arts burlap string.

An Idea-ology pen nib
and a sticker from Cosmo Cricket's Tiny Text Love adorn this page. We are not quite halfway through, so I'll end the tour here and finish up on my next post.
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

Busy Days

Sorry to be MIA
these last few days. I completed one of the four mini album I'm working on. The Penmaker and I took a trip to the Pittsburgh Ikea today, so I wasn't able to get the photos of it taken... maybe tomorrow. In the meantime, here is something better to look at... granddaughter Adelaide turned one month old yesterday. Time is flying, friends!

Once Upon A Springtime Birthday Card

And you're probably
thinking... it's fall, Linda, not spring... but let me explain! I have a few sheets left of that beautiful Graphic 45 collection, Once Upon a Springtime, and thought it would make the perfect card for granddaughter Dixie's fifth birthday. It has the fairies, bunnies, birds and cute little mice on lovely soft shades of peach, green, gold and turquoise... do you remember it? That collection was a great choice for so many different things... for a baby shower, for a valentine or a romantic card for your sweetheart,  birthday, anniversary... so many possibilities. It's a classic!

This is basically
a fairly simple card. I fussy cut several flowers from the papers, added a My Mind's Eye chipboard butterfly button along with some pieces of doily, and glued on one of Prima fantastic Serenity flowers (LOVE these).

Dixie was pretty happy
with it... along with her Ikea finger puppets and red velvet dress. Ahhhh... grandchildren! Is there anything as precious?
Today I'm working on
four new mini albums... two for Christmas, one for a granddaughter's school pictures and the fourth is the Scrappin in the Smokies album I mentioned last week. It's going to be pretty big, so I'll probably post photos of it as the pages are completed instead of waiting until it's totally done.
Craft room and renovation updates:
The Penmaker and I
had to take another trip to Pittsburgh to get more storage boxes at Ikea. I haven't had time to assemble them yet, so my room is still needing some finishing touches. I will post photos after that happens. We had a guy measure for kitchen cabinets this morning, but we are unsure of what we want to do in that room. The flooring is a puzzle to us... carpet??? Who knows? If we could have gotten a cabin tonight, we would have left this all behind and gone to Gatlinburg. Too bad we couldn't! Instead, I'm going to scrap!

Under The Lights

Our son and daughter-in-law
had a night out before their baby was born. His brother captured the parents-to-be in this unique shot that I just had to make into a layout for them.

Since I created this a
couple of weeks ago, I really can't remember all the different papers I used (WOW, am I getting old!). They are from Kaisercraft and My Mind's Eye, and the two base papers are from the Take Note collection. I do recognize the dot paper as one of My Mind's Eye's All Is Bright... their Christmas collection from last year. The die cuts are part of Kaisercrafts Timeless Icons Collectables. Here I teamed the old movie camera from that pack with a strip of Idea-ology film strip ribbon. The bolt is from Prima.

The frame is also from
that pack and the I Love You sentiment was cut from a sheet from the Take Note collection. Under it is part of a bingo card.

The flowers are from
Prima's Serenity collection. I used a few blooms from Petaloo as well, and there's an Idea-ology Muse Token tucked in also.

A Recollections flower
from their fall line and a few more by Petaloo. Another sentiment cut from Take Note paper.

Ahhhh Friday!
Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Cottage Chic Mini Album Part 3

Today is my final
installment on the Cottage Chic mini album. The supplies used are listed here on the first post.

The unique feature on
this album is the number of journaling pages... again as many as those for photos. There is just so much real estate with this book. I hope you've enjoyed looking through it's pages.
For the last couple of
days, I've been updating my craft room with new bookcases from Ikea.

I've been wanting to make
some changes, and now seemed like the time. I really needed a little more space for supplies and these two did the trick. Will show you the finished project as soon as everything is in it's proper place.
Have a wonderful Wednesday, friends!

Cottage Chic Mini Album Part 2

I got a late start today
writing this post as the Penmaker and I were helping our son and daughter-in-law move into their first house. How exciting for them! I can still remember when we moved into our first. It was a rather short stay... only two years, and then we saw our dream home. We put ours up for sale, it sold the same day and we bought the one we have lived in for the last forty years. It's been a keeper. The Lord has truly blessed us with a wonderful abode.
Now on to part 2 of my
Cottage Chic mini album using Marion Smith printables. If you missed part 1, see it here.

Thank you for letting
me share my new album with you. I'm so hooked on making these things... I have dozens of ideas for future minis I want to try. Last night I started my Scrappin in the Smokies album using Laura Denison's  Back Flip pattern. Another challenge!!!

Cottage Chic Mini Album Part 1

After two weeks of work,
here, finally, is my Cottage Chic mini album created using Marion Smith's printables and My Mind's Eye Portobello Road 6" x 6" paper pad.

Once again, taking photos
of this album was a marathon shooting secession. I took sixty-six in all, but I certainly am not going to post that many. I'll just give you the highlights of each page and post them over the next few days.
Here goes...

The covers are of medium
weight chipboard, inked with Vintage Photo Distress and a coat of matte gel medium from Golden. The flowers are from Petaloo and I Am Roses; resin window frame by Prima. The first page has double pockets with journaling tags (K & Co with a MME brad) and a photo mat. All the mats and tags in the album are pretty small.

This is one of Marion's
envelopes embellished with Petaloo and I Am Roses flowers. I used the Sizzlet Bird #5 die and Spellbinders Foliage; Queen & Co pearls; Prima Engraver sticker; wide eyelet from We R Memory Keepers; pink seam binding.

A MS printable tag
and a photo mat in the two pockets. I used a lot of Idea-ology Chit Chat stickers in the album and some of the ephemera pieces cut from Marion's Romance Novel paper by Prima.

A double flip photo mat.
The accent piece was cut with Alterations Torn Notebook die.

Prima and I am Roses
flowers with Prima Engraver stickers.

Prima Essentials flower;
a My Mind's Eye button; May Arts pink burlap string; Us sentiment from Teresa Collins Memorabilia collection.

Always title from the
Teresa Collins Memorabilia collection.

A mini envelope
made into a photo mat with room for journaling inside. Accent pieces were cut with Alterations Torn Notebook die; title and inside arrow die cut from the Teresa Collins Memorabilia collection. I made most of the tabs in the album using various Corner Chompers.

More to come tomorrow.
