Spring Color Challenge

This week at The Shabby Tea Room,
Kristin chose this lovely photo as an inspiration for the Week #56 Challenge or "Spring Color Challenge".

Just create your card or project based on the colors in the
inspiration photo... yellow, pink, green, peach and lavender along with a neutral... white, cream or kraft.

This is mine.

I'm still in love with the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime papers.
White cardstock for my base with a sheet of Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden 6" x 6" Collection.

Lots of flowers from Recollections and Etsy shops plus Pixie's
Signature Seam Binding Ribbon in Cotton Ball.

A fussy cut fairy and that's it... done.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

2011 has been a year of firsts for me!
Here's another...
my first entry to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

Use this sketch to create some teeny little cards
that can be used to accompany a gift, a bouquet of fresh flowers, a plate of fudge... yum ... ah thoughts of chocolate!

I have zero little cards in my stash, so I made four.

Please join us for this challenge... but no later than 12:00 p.m.
Central time on Friday, April 8th, 2011.
Have a Happy Day!

The Sewing Room Die

As I said yesterday, I've been playing a round
with the new Tim Holtz Alterations Die called Sewing Room. It's a three piece set including the dress form, a button, a spool and is FANTASTIC. This is my favorite new "tool". I purchased mine from an Etsy shop call "its always fabulous"... and the price was!  Check it out. She has lots of Tim Holtz products,  Melissa Frances, 7gypies, Jenni Bowlin and more.

This was my first try. I glued a piece of light weight cardstock to the
kraft paper then ran it through my Sizzix Vagabond. I then cut the dress section, trimmed it, applied tape and added it to that first double layer. Inked some highlights along the left side with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I can't remember the name of this paper, but I had a lot of scraps
in my box. Used more scraps for the border pieces. Trying to thin things down a bit.

Stuck in a needle and thread from my sewing box.

The banner is from My Mind's Eye, buttons are by American crafts and Baker's Twine.

Did some "accessorizing" with lace, a rhinestone, a mini rose
and trim. Wish real dress making was as simple! I'd have a closet full!

Oh Wow... This is Amazing!

I was going to post photos of cards I did using
my new Tim Holtz Sewing Room die... but instead I just have to show you what came in the mail today.
First of all...
the "brand new" Country Farm Stand Kit from Pixie Dust Paperie.
This kit is AMAZING...

Included are a whole package of Girl's Paperie Chipboard Alphabets
( I LOVE Girl's Paperie) and a package of the Graphic 45 Staples Stickers... those same stickers I've been using to make vintage clothing cards. I was thrilled to get these as my other sheet is nearly gone.

Next are Tim Holtz Fanciful Buttons and his Lavish Trimmings pack.
The trimmings are white and can be inked, sprayed or whatever to match your project.

The little cardboard box contains 30 Mini Cupcake Liners and 12
Recollections Roses in assorted colors to match the papers. (I'm planning a project for this little box.)

Gorgeous papers...

10 double sided patterned papers

and 4 sheets of American Crafts cardstock in Poppy, Forest, Jade and Wave...

25 yards of Baker's Twine, 10 Manila Tags, 3 charming Fabric Squares,
Pixie Seam Binding Ribbon in Sunflower and Sweet Pea, 2 yards of each and that wonderful little envelope of butterflies and tube of sparkling glitter.
Thank you, Miss Kirsty!

This second package is from Frog Feathers. This was my first time to buy
from Christi and I was not disappointed. The trims are beautiful and were packaged in a large cello bag that made me think... hey this girl really cares! She even put in a little extra piece of lavender flower trim and this cute frog. I'm impressed!

Another first time purchase... from Pink Scrappers Boutique
Carlene has a lovely shop with great prices and reasonable shipping rates. I placed an order with her and then decided I would like one more item... no problem!!! She handled it all smoothly and my package came quick as a wink. Love this gal!
Hope you'll check out these fine dealers for yourself.
They have made my day!

Thanks

I finished up two more thank you cards...

Once again I basically just used scraps to make these cards today.
The cardstock and flower trim are American Crafts from Pixie Kits  along with the signature seam binding ribbon. The amazing die cut heart came from Michelle's Scraps-n-Things on Etsy. I painted it with Ranger's Dabber Snow Cap, a coat of Mod Podge and sprinkled on Twinklets Diamond Dust.
Hope you'll have a wonderful weekend!
