Gate Cards at City Crafter Challenge Blog

Week #53 at City Crafter Challenge Blog is to make
a gate card. I'm fairly new at card making, so I was thankful to see the link to a tutorial on "How to make a Gate Card" right there with the challenge (thank you CCCB).
So...
Here is my first ever Gate Card!

My immediate reaction was to reach for a Pixie Kit.
I chose papers from two kits and started in on the cutting and scoring. I am a slow worker, so this process took me forever.

Did some Distress inking with Ranger's Brushed Corduroy.
Sprayed all the flowers with my new Patina Glimmer Mist including this fabric rose from Frog Feathers.

Scattered around a few half pearls and stick pins.

Added more roses and leaves.

Great fun, ladies... be sure to try this challenge!

  2. I am so glad you try the gate card out as this proof to be a right decision, lovely and soft feel of this creation makes me want to dig out my past Pixie kits and look for that same DP and embellishment item to create.

  4. Gorgeous job on your first ever gate fold card, Linda! Love the color palette you used and just adore all the layers. The flowers are so pretty, and using that key across the opening is just brilliant, I think. :)
