Christmas Card Trio

Hello dear friends... Happy New Year!
I hope that those of you in the US are surviving the frigid temperatures we having.

I have three more Christmas cards that didn't get posted earlier. All very simple, but glittery.

For this one, I tried my hand at stamping with several shades of green. I need a lot more practice at this. Guess I needed to start somewhere, right? Anyway, I thought the card itself turned out okay.

I hope you all have a great week, and I'll be back soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Most Wonderful Time of The Year Card

Hi friends!
I've one last card to show you before Christmas, then I will take a short break. I'll be back in a few days to show you the rest of the cards I had created for family and friends.
For this card I wanted to do some stamping. I used my Artistic Outpost set Midwinter. I love this set because it lends itself equally to Christmas as well as winter cards. I like my products to be dual duty to get the most for my investment.

I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for the stamping and used a piece of Kaisercraft patterned paper that would match my base, which is from their 6.5" paper pad Just Believe. I cut the stamped piece with my Alterations Thinlits Stitched Circles and backed it with corrugated gold glitter paper I bought at Hobby Lobby. I cut it with Spellbinders Classic Circles.

Beneath it is a piece from the Idea-ology Christmas ephemera pack.

I decked it with a poinsettia and holly swag from that same pack.
And that wraps it up for today.
Thank you for stopping by!

Wishing you all a very
Merry Christmas!

A Trio of Christmas Cards

Hello dear friends!
It's house cleaning day here, but I just had to stop a moment to show you a few more of my Christmas cards. At the rate I'm going, I may be posting them into the New Year.

My "Joy To The World" card has a base of Kaisercraft paper from the Just Believe collection along with my Metallic Kraft by Tim Holtz. The ephemera is from his Idea-ology Christmas pack.

The image is from Kaisercrafts St. Nicholas collection 6.5" paper pad. It's layered with a Alterations Thinlits Stitched Circles in the silver Metallic Kraft.

I've added the silver glitter paper by DCWV for some sparkle.

For this next card I began with a mat of Tim's Tidings 8x8 Paper Stash layered with the silver Metallic Kraft. The band of paper is again from the Kaisercraft Just Believe collection.

The image is from my stash and teamed with the silver glitter paper. I used that same DCWV paper pack for the holly and berries that I cut with Thinlits Festive Greens.

I popped the image up with a piece of craft foam for dimension.

This last card, Christmas Greetings, is a combination of Kaisercraft St. Nicholas, glitter paper, and Metallic Kraft.

I tied the tag with some silver metallic, very thin cord by Darice. The three gems are by Prima.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Merry Christmas Snowman Card

Hi sweet friends!
I hope you're getting all your final shopping and preparations done for Christmas. I believe the Penmaker and I can say we are ready. I created one last card and got it into the mail today. Hopefully it will make it in time.

This is one I made using a darling snowman image I received with one of my orders from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  The papers are Metallic Kraft by Tim Holtz, Kaisercraft Just Believe 6x6 pad, and glitter paper from DCWV. The tree was cut with Alterations Woodlands Thinlits and the holly and berries with Festive Greens.

Have a great evening!

Noel Christmas Card

Hi friends!
I've finished my cards, but while wrapping gifts, discovered I didn't make enough gift tags. So it'll be back to the craft room for me tonight. In the mean time, I have one of the cards to share with you. All kraft with gold glitter and some mixed media.

I started by laying down some Ranger Distress Grit Paste using a Stampers Anonymous Mini Stencil from Set 31 on a mat of kraft cardstock. I filled in the places that I knew wouldn't interfere with the dies. When it was dry I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink then adhered the Alterations Woodlands Thinlits die. I love these trees. Then came the Noel from the Thinlits Vintage Tidings set. To it I added a holly piece with berries cut from Festive Greens in glitter cardstock by DCWV. Lastly was my Winter Wonderland Thinlits buck in gold glittered cardstock popped up with craft foam.

And that's my card. Simple to make, but I think rather elegant.

Joy Christmas Card

Hello, and thanks for stopping by!
With the final few days before Christmas, I have just a couple more cards to create. Good night, you're probably saying... nothing like waiting until the last minute. I agree whole heartily, but to be truthful that virus I had just set me way back. I think I'm gaining some ground, though.

An all Tim Holtz product card except for the glittered cardstock which is from a DCWV 6x6 Glitter Stack from Joann's. The Alterations Thinlits Holiday Words Script "joy" is double layered for stability. The florals are Thinlits Festive Greens. The paper is from the Tidings 8x8 Stack.

And again I used one of these manger images from my stash from an unknown source.
Have a great day, friends!

Away In A Manger Christmas Card

Hello! I hope you're having a great weekend!
It's very festive here. Our neighborhood is decked out in all sorts of lights, reindeer, and plastic snowmen. So cheery in the evening when it gets dark before dinnertime. I love this time of year!
Tag making has given way to card making, and I really need to speed it up.

My Christmas cards are all going to be more of the clean and simple variety. Nothing being mailed in padded envelopes. I'm making all my card bases as well, from kraft or white cardstock. I have several of this image. I'm not sure where I got them. They are a favorite of mine, so I'll be using these a lot. For this card, I teamed it with the kraft CS and some Tim Holtz Tidings paper and Christmas Ephemera. Used his Kraft metallic paper to cut an Alterations Thinlits Labels and used the negative piece as a frame.

My tiny holly and berries were cut with Thinlits Festive Greens using glitter paper. I brushed on a bit of Wink of Stella to the pine boughs on the image to complete my card.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and...

O Come All Ye Faithful Pocket Card

Hi everyone!
I'm finally off to a start with my Christmas cards. And to get me going was this set of die-cuts I received as a gift in my last Funkie Junkie Boutique order. They were ready-made inspiration!

I made this card rather simple, which I'm going to try to do with all my Christmas cards this year. The base paper is from Photo Play's Julie Nutting Belle Vie collection. The pretty snowflake paper is from Idea-ology's Paper Stash Tidings by Tim Holtz. I purchased the gorgeous gold corrugate paper at Hobby Lobby in Tennessee for half off... and why on earth I only bought one sheet, I'll never know! What is wrong with me?

The die-cut under the music sheet (complements of FJB) was cut with Alterations Thinlits Stitched Rectangles. The paper is Idea-ology Deco Sheets in gold that I adhered to a piece of cardstock before running it through my Vagabond. I used Remnant Rubs Glided Accents on the corners. My tag has a wide gold eyelet and is tied with white organza and thin gold metallic ribbons.

I did the florals with Paper Stash Classic Kraft using Thinlits Festive Greens (my go-to die set for the fall and Christmas seasons). I cut the bow from Paper Stash Metallic Kraft and the two berries from red glitter paper for a bit of pop to the color palate.
That's one down!!! YES!

Christmas in July Pocket Card

When my daughter-in-law asked if I had any Christmas cards on hand for a Christmas in July event at her school, I thought this would be a good time to get started on my stash. I needed to check my inventory anyway, and with all the new collections coming out on pre-sale, now is the time to get these ordered. I got side tracked, though, when I saw all the new Fall ones. Guess I'll take this one step at a time, and concentrate on those first then move on to Christmas. In the mean while, I still have some of last year's patterns left, and that's what I used to create the card she needed.

This is the Carta Bella Christmas Delivery collection with some other odds and ends mixed in.

The flowers and greens are all from Petaloo, and the Alterations dies used are Thinlits Doily 2 and Holiday Words Script.
Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday, my friends, and please let me know what you're buying to make your Christmas cards.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Gift/Pocket Cards 2

Here are the final two pocket cards I created as gift card holders for our kids. I like making them all different to match what I think their style is. These were all embellished with whatever leftovers and scraps I had laying on my desk.

In 2014 I made a YouTube video showing how I create this type of pocket card. Please realize this is the ONLY video I have ever done. LOL! You can watch it here if you want to see how it's put together.

Christmas Gift/Pocket Cards

I have a few more Christmas cards to show you. These are two of the pocket cards I made to put gift cards in for our children. I did the base pockets all at one time, assembly line style, then went back and embellished each one by one.

Pretty basic designs using up any scraps and leftovers on my desk.

I hope your Christmas was a joyful one. So much preparation, and it goes by so quickly. Now is the time to plan those crafty projects you've been wanting to try. I have several lined up. What are yours?

Christmas Door Card

This card was one of those that you go to reach for, it's not there and you have just a brief time to make and get in the mail. Yikees!!! Not the best inspiration, but, hey, I had to get it done. Thankfully my craft table was still loaded with Christmas papers and all the embellishing goodies I had left over. The Rejoice was even stamped!

Time is really getting short, so you are all ready for Sunday, right?
The Penmaker and I bought tons of food (huge exaggeration) in Amish country. We made a stop first at our favorite spot, Amish Door Restaurant, and had breakfast. Great way to prepare for shopping!
Now I'm off to do some house cleaning and last minute tweaking.
"It's the most wonderful time of the year."
