Inspiration Wednesday Week Nine

Good night, here I am again, weeks behind in my Inspiration Wednesday classes. Yesterday I laid other things aside and worked on week nine's lesson. I can't give you any of the specifics other than to say that I didn't follow Donna's choice of paints, but went with what I thought would make me happy... Distress and Liquitex paints very much watered down.

If you check out Donna's work here, you'll see that mine only slightly resembles hers... but that's the point. This journal page is me using her inspiration.

The new Twisted Citron Distress paint.

Inspiration Wednesday 2015 Week Four

Of all the art journal pages I have done, I have to say that this was the most fun in both making it and satisfaction of the way it turned out. I think Donna was in high gear on this one. I absolutely love what I've learned from week four's class. You can still join us!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Inspiration Wednesday 2015 Week Three

I'm learning to make do with supplies I have on hand for Donna's Inspiration Wednesday classes. In this project for week three, we needed drywall tape, which I didn't have. But do you know what will work almost as good? Plain old copy paper cut with TH Thinlits Mixed Media die.

See the small holes portion... just cut several in a strip and glue them down with gel medium.

Inspiration Wednesday 2015 Week Two

Am still trying to catch up with Donna Downey's Inspiration Wednesday classes. This was week two. I'm not satisfied with my results even though I went back and did some more work on it after I did week three (which accounts for the magenta paint on the right side... LOL). Still I believe I'm learning, and having a ball doing it. You can check out the membership here.

Inspiration Wednesday 2015 Week One

I have always loved watching Donna Downey's Inspiration Wednesday, and was happy to see she had started them again after a one year break. The lessons, however, come at a cost... a membership fee of $35.00 for a full year of videos... and I feel, well worth the price.

This is my first completed project in my new inspiration journal. Happy place!!!

Thank you for stopping by!

Creative Jump Start #8

If you're taking
advantage of Nathalie Kalbach's Creative Jump Start Summit 2013, you are familiar with the sponsor spots that show up every few days. Sad to say, I haven't purchased any product from Jump Starter #8, Darkroom Door. Their rubber stamps look amazing! Here's the page I created for them...

I blended three
acrylics for the background... Red Ochre, Grey and Titanium White spritzed with a little water.

Once I got started,
I couldn't stop piling on the layers. I pulled out my whole stack of stencils and began... first with the Titanium White acrylic, a brush and Studio Calico's Bubbles. Second, soft gel medium and Crafter's Workshop Punchinella.

Next, CW Chevron
Arrows spraying with Lindy's Stamp Gang  Rudolph's Nose Red Starburst... CW Ledger stencil, a sponge brush and cheap black craft paint. Added some drops of Black Marble Dylusions ink and finished off with Jet Black Archival ink and one of the Stampers Anonymous Bitty Grunge stamps.

Grabbing my box of
scraps, I cut a few banners and glued all the pieces together.

Lots of texture...
and as Donna Downey says... Happy Place!!!
