Z-Fold Spinner Birthday Card

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday!
Do you like trying new card designs? Since I purchased the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform I've been much more adventurous in attempting them. As I said before, I've never been much of a stamper and I have very few stamp sets and supplies. So for me to try something new that I see on YouTube is a real challenge. Take this example of Jennifer McGuire's Z-Fold Spinner Card. (Please check out her post here.) I had none of the supplies she used except for ink and the stamp platform, but I really wanted to make a card for our granddaughter's third birthday. I used a patterned paper, Echo Park's The Story of Fall Dots, since I didn't have a background stamp. Instead of a sentiment stamped around the circle (since I had none that would work), I put mine at the bottom of the card.
I added the red heart center after the Penmaker had taken the photos.

All in all, I'm really happy with the way it turned out, and when Jesse opened the card it actually did spin a ton. Success!!!

The base is MME's Madison Ave. The layers and tag are Love Clippings from Prima and Glitz Design's 6x6 Pretty in Pink.

The lace medallion trim is by Prima. The ivory Fleur Des Champs and blush Melange Shimmer and Shine flowers are from 49 and Market. The white organza ribbon is from Joann's.

Sympathy Pocket Card & A Royal Jewel Pen

Hi sweet friends!
Since the Penmaker and I made the trek last Thursday to Pennsylvania, we thought we'd head toward West Virginia today. Didn't quite make it though. It seems there is an inordinate amount of road construction going on in Ohio. As we approached the east I-70 on-ramp, we could see traffic at a stand still. After waiting a good amount of time, we decided it was a no-go, and backed up and off the ramp and headed west. We had a lovely drive even if not to where we wanted to go. Southern Ohio is as beautiful as West Virginia, after all.

My card today is part of a series I created for a special order. The papers are a mix of Bo Bunny and 49 & Market. If you haven't used anything from 49 & Market, you simply must. Very high quality, and gorgeous besides.

The dies used are all Alterations Thinlits... Lace, Garden Greens, and Stitched Ovals. The butterfly is a Tim Holtz Botanical Layers. The light pink organza ribbon is from Joann's. The flowers are all by I Am Roses.

Another special order... this one from the Penmaker.

Sweet Life Pocket Card and Another Unique Circuit Board Pen

Hi friends! Happy Saturday!
It's not even ten o'clock and the Penmaker has the car washed and ready to go. It's so hot, though, we'll probably just stay at home. Seems like a good day to be inside and read or create.
Here is a card I did this week with Stationer's Desk by Prima. As you can see... all neutrals. I avoided the reds in this collection so I could add these lovely Tim Holtz Botanical Layers to my mix.

I cut a few pieces of foliage using his Alterations Garden Greens with a dark green color from the Core'dinations Kraft-Core Nostalgic collection. (Which I'm assuming is a thing of the past since I see Idea-ology is now producing Tim's line of Kraft papers.) They are teamed with a single white rose from I Am Roses.

The beautiful old lace is, I believe, one from Webster's Pages.

The "sweet life" is from Tim's Quotations Metallic stickers in silver. The half pearls are by Queen & Co. The frame was cut with Alterations Ornate Frame 2 and is doubled. It's popped up with foam adhesive.

The Penmaker's newest circuit board writing instrument is called Deco-Pro. You can get all the details here. It's a beauty!

You & Me Mixed Media Pocket Card and Circuit Board Pen

With not doing art journaling in a while, I thought I'd keep my hand in by created a mixed media card. In the end, I actually didn't do that much to this card, but it was fun to play with some super heavy gesso, a stencil and inks. The card is fairy heavily distressed though.

The papers are from Prima's Time Traveler collection. Some of the ephemera are by Tim Holtz. So are the game spinner and fastener... all from Idea-ology.

The ecru cotton lace is from my stash. The wildflowers were cut with Alterations Thinlits dies. I bought this set some time ago, and this was my first time to open up the package.

A Prima Tag Me piece from the collection adorned with one of my wood butterflies from Tennessee and a burgundy rhinestone from TPC Studio.

More wildflowers mixed with foliage cut with Thinlits Garden Greens.

I found a scrap of wired burlap ribbon and added it into the layers.

And last of all, a double bow of wrinkled seam binding tied to the tag.

And something brand new from the Penmaker. This is a gunmetal Dauntless click ballpoint writing instrument with a clear cast circuit board.

Teal Time Pocket Card and Two Wood Pens

Up today is another pocket card I created with Bo Bunny's Juliet collection. I've made so many cards using these papers, and I never grow tired of them. The patterns are stunning and so varied.

Along with Juliet are Prima's printed chipboard and a wood timepiece... both vintage, some old lace from my stash, and flowers from Petaloo.

I also have a couple of the Penmaker's newest writing instruments to show you.

These are both called American Patriot. This one is antique pewter with segmented wood...

Wishes Come True Anniversary Card and Some Beautiful Pens

I'm truly sorry for the delay in getting to this anniversary card. We've had birthday parties, cookouts, movie premiers, and lots of yard work. Today seems like it may be normal, so I'm taking this opportunity to do a post.
This card was created for our son and daughter-in-law's anniversary from two collections... Kaisercraft's Fairy Dust and Bo Bunny's Enchanted Garden. These two go so well together, I always combine them. I did a lot of fussy cutting... Fairy Dust being perfect for it!

The printed chipboard piece is from an older Prima collection as is this pebble, bauble thing (can't remember what they are called). I attached it with Glossy Accents.

These gorgeous flowers are from I Am Roses... from my newer stash. This is my favorite company for flowers, but you probably know that. The purple half pearls are by Hero Arts.

The wire key paper clip is by Prima from the Engraver collection. I seem to have an abundance of these things????

How about a look at some pens... I haven't shown any lately and The Penmaker has made some real beauties over the last month.
These first two are Royal Jewel in chrome with designer acrylic...

and this one is 24kt gold with designer acrylic.

The next three are antique pewter Dragon writing instruments with designer acrylic.

This one is quite unique... a chrome and gunmetal Curvation with clear cast feathers.

Happy Birthday Card and Motorcycle Pens

Just a quick post today with a birthday card I created for our son-in-law JD. He is quite the manly man, and it's always a challenge to make him a card with no frills. A real test of my metal.

The Penmaker created a couple new motorcycle pens I wanted to show you. These are both of designer acrylic.

Expresso Yourself Pocket Card and A Buckeye Burl Motorcycle Pen

Still on my journey to downsize my paper stash, I've created a pocket card with my last sheet of Glitz Vintage Love Polka. It literally makes me cry to see this go. I adore this sheet. This has to be one of the best vintage polka dot patterns every made. I'm down to one small rectangle of it, and I may not be able to part with it. On the other hand, I just have to reduce this huge amount of paper.

Polka made a beautiful base for the Moxxie coffee papers... a great team!

I used the last one of the Darice Cafe` 3-D Embellishments... this cute little cafe` hanging sign. I added in a few I Am Roses flowers plus ferns and leaves cut with Alterations Thinlits Garden Greens.

The antique copper corner is by Momento.

The Penmaker's antique brass motorcycle pen features a gorgeous piece of buckeye burl wood finished to perfection.

Very unique!

Happy Masculine Birthday Pocket Card & An Antique Pewter Country Pen

Awoke to a cold, snow-covered world. I knew it was coming... but you know, still I was hoping it wouldn't. Come on Spring!

Back to some masculine cards... one today using a combination of Bo Bunny's Heritage and Weekend Market collections along with some Tim Holtz Wallflower. Mixed in is a sheet of Tim's Textured Surfaces (cork) and an old piece of corrugate I had put back.

I bundled some of the layers together and wrapped them up with natural May Arts burlap string. The happy sticker is an Idea-ology Big Chat attached with one of their Mini Paper Clips.

The corner stickers and border strip are from their Industrious sticker collection. The wood key and the chipboard post card are both by Prima. The tiny distressed bloom and leaf are Petaloo's Darjeeling.

Another beauty from the Penmaker....

This is called Country. It's a mix of designer acrylic and Platymus Gum burl wood.
