Mojo Monday Sketch Copy

I liked that sketch from
Mojo Monday's challenge so much that I decided to use it again with some slight modifications. This is what I made...

I noticed on Friday that
Kirsty was having a sale on her December Pixie Kit "Times Square Twenty 11". In looking at this kit, I once again realized the wealth of goodies she had jammed packed into that box... so I pulled mine out. Other than tools, supplies and pearls, this card is made solely from this great Pixie Dust Kit.

The dies are from Spellbinder's
Large Standard Circles and Floral Doily Motifs and Die-namics Butterflies from My Favorite Things.

The edges are sponged with
my "at the moment favorite" Gathered Twigs from Tim Holtz fall seasonal, limited edition collection.

My sentiment is stamped with
an old set from Sweet n' Sassy. I realize that every time I mention one of my sets from S'nS, I say an old or no longer available set. Truth is, before I retired, they were one of the first sites I found, and I bought quite a few sets from them preparing for all this free time I was going to have once I did finally retire. If you've not visited their store, check it out here. I love their stamps.
Hope you'll have a great weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 214

This is the first sketch of the month
at Mojo Monday... sooooo there is a contest with prizes for the top picks.

Just as I went to take my pictures,
the sun went behind some clouds and it started to rain... then ice. I was only able to get these two and they aren't the best. I had a ball making this card though... love this sketch.

The papers are Ice Cream Core'dinations
cardstock as my base and American Crafts Kraft and a scrap of brown embossed unknown as my mat base. I used several other scraps... one being My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas "Bright" paper. Buttons are from my stash; the leaves are cut with Tim Holtz Alterations Mini Branch and Leaf Set and sprayed with Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist; the two round dies were cut with Spellbinder's Large Classic Circles... the one being copper that I embossed with the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Birds & Swirls. The green ticket was cut with Tim Holtz Alterations Mini Tickets Set as was the smaller copper ticket that is on the grungy tag from Kraft Outlet. I stamped that tag with the acorn and leaves stamp from the TPC Studios Autumn Harvest Stamp Set and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink (which was used on all the edges also). Topped it all off with a set from Tim's Idea-ology Locket Keys.

Okay... this is an edit...
I just went back and added this since the sun is back out. I really wanted you to see these tags.
Hope you have a great day.

Thanks for stopping by!

{Thank} ful

I'm so very thankful...
for my salvation... my husband, aka the Penmaker... my family... my blogging friends...
and I'm thankful to have finally finished this card! This was two days in the making... (mostly because this headache is still hanging on)... but I'm happy the way it turned out!

The base is Core'dinations Canvas
Texture Ice Cream and the mat base is Kraft Outlet's Lunch Bag Kraft. Atop that sits Imaginisce's Happy Harvest "Fall Into Fun" and Tim Holtz Kraft-Core #8 color from Core'dinations. The Gathered Twigs Distress Ink is from Tim's new fall seasonal collection and was sponged onto the paper edges.

This Spellbinder's Fancy Tags
Two was cut from the #8 paper and topped with a strip from Imaginisce's HH "Autumn Splendor". My triple loop bow is brown crinkled seam binding.

The #8 Kraft-Core was embossed
with Cuttlebug's Birds and Swirls Folder, then sanded. I used Spellbinder's smallest of the Large Classic Scalloped Circles to cut this Kraft die. The branch was cut from Tim Holtz Alterations Mini Branch & Leaf Set. I cut two of these from the Kraft cardstock and a scrap of a My Mind's Eye DP and glued them together for a drop shadow effect. I popped it up with foam adhesive and added some TPC Studio "Reel Me In" jewels as faux berries.

The chipboard bird is
from GCD Studio's Melody Ross Collection of chipboard birds that came in my October Blue Moon Kit. It and the branch were sprayed with Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist.

I'm entering this card in these challenges:

Heart Song Inspirations Challenge - Anything Goes

Sentimental Sundays Challenge #80

At Sentimental Sundays,
the challenge is to make your project for "Wedding or Anniversary"

Other than the chipboard
sentiment piece from my stash, this card is all white Bazzill cardstock. I sponged the edges with the new Tim Holtz seasonal Distress Ink in Evergreen Bough.

The Spellbinder's dies used
are Fleur De Lis Squares, Fancy Tags Two, and Large Standard Circles and the Cuttlebug embossing folders are Swiss Dots and Textile Texture.

The bling is from Prima,
pearls from Queen & Co, and rhinestones from Teresa Collins.
I hope you're enjoying the
week. Our weather has been fabulous... sixties today! Alas, with the rise in temperature usually comes sinus problems for me... I've been down with dizziness and headache ever since that great trip to Archivers. So, I still haven't broken into all that new Tim Holtz paper... am looking forward to it soon!
Have a wonderful day...
and thanks for stopping by!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #106

Yesterday we headed out for
Columbus and the Ohio Pen Show. Let me tell you, the Penmaker was so excited he talked about pens the whole way there... two hours worth. But to let you know just what a wonderful guy he is, he took me to Archiver's first.
(Please excuse the windblown hair.)

We hadn't been to this location
before, and were really surprised at the size of this store. Ahhhh... a cardmaker's dream! I bought the new Tim Holtz Christmas Seasonal Series Distress Ink Set and his Core'dinations Kraft-Core Nostalgic Collection. Also a few 12 x 12 sheets of Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium Collection. Fun times!!!

This is my first time to enter a card
at The Play Date Cafe Challenge. The suggested colors for the week are
Gray... Yellow... Pink...

Here is what I created...

Ohhhh, my gray looks more
taupe here. I started out with a light shade of gray cardstock and it looked really washed out. So I switched to Authentique's "Euphoria" from their Blissful Collection. It matched my light gray to a T, so  I'm assuming that it is just a darker gray. These other papers are from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 6 x 6 Paper Pad Madison Avenue. My cardstock is Ivory and the Distress Ink is Antique Linen.

These brads are from
My Minds Eye Madison Avenue and Portobello Road Collections.

I can't tell you how much
I love the I Am Roses flowers. No matter how many I buy, I never seem to have just exactly the color I need in the size I want to use. Good excuse to buy more, right? This yellow and white curly rose came from a mixed package... great for getting a variety of shades and sizes. My stick pin is Maya Road's Heart Trinket Pins.

The sentiment is an old set
from my stash and stamped with black Archival Ink on a stack of Spellbinder's Lacy Circles and Large Classic Circles popped up with 3-D foam adhesive squares.
The Penmaker is busy turning
a pen... I can hear his lathe running full speed. Someone offered to give him $160.00 for one of his finest (shown here) at the show, so he's very much motivated today!

This is an "Elegant" set -
Titanium Gold and Rhodium. The wood is Buckeye Burl.

And All The Trees Of The Fields Shall Clap Their Hands

Going through my scraps,
I found this negative of the tree die I cut to make this card, and thought it would be ideal to use for another masculine card. This is how it turned out...

Sometimes it pays to save
those bits you think you may not use, as they may end up being your vocal point. I again have here those two Basic Grey papers I've used so much of lately... from the Oxford Collection - "Sorority" and "Lacrosse". The cardstock is American Crafts Pine, Core'dinations Leapfrog and Sandtrap. Gathered Twigs Distress Ink was sponged on the edges after roughing them up with the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser. The brad is from Teresa Collins Christmas Home.

The gears are Tim Holtz Sprocket
Gears teamed with his Long Fasteners. The branch was cut from kraft cardstock and Tim's Alterations Tattered Pinecone die. My sentiment is an old set from Sweet'n Sassy on a die cut with Spellbinder's Labels Seventeen. I'm entering this card in these challenges:
Scrapbook Sisters - Anything Goes

And now Grandma would like
to show you how our newest is growing... what a blessing from the Lord!
Thanks for stopping by, friends!

Thinking Of You

Hi, friends! Today has been
one of those relaxing kind of days, were I just hung out and only did the necessities. The Penmaker and I met our daughter and two of our grandbabies for breakfast in Walnut Creek. Ahhhh... they certainly add a little sunshine to my day! Then, this afternoon, we took our walk along the canal path... but it seemed that the weather was exceptionally fine.
Didn't do any crafting, but I have
one card to show you that I made the other day from my PDP Blue Moon Kit

As I've said before, I love
Kirsty's kits. I added the flowers, pearls and lace, but the other elements are from the kit.

These little chipboard birds
are so much fun to use. I painted this one with Metallic Champagne acrylic paint from Michael's then applied a coat of Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.
Be sure to stop over at the
Pixie Dust Paperie Blog and enter the Giveaway. There will be four winners selected and some terrific prizes!
Thanks for stopping by today... I've really enjoyed our visit!
