A Remake

While going through my
stash of Christmas cards, I realized that there were two things I didn't like about one of my cards. The first thing was the stick pin and the second was the color of the bird.

So I thought this may be
the right time to use that foil liner from my giant can of Coffeemate... it's paper on one side and matte foil on the other. I ran it through the Vagabond with the Alterations Caged Bird die and then the snowflake Texture Fade.

I tapped my Evergreen Boughs
Distress Ink onto the raised areas. Because of the smooth foil finish, the ink just sort of beaded up, but I really liked the look. I then put on some Whispers Clear Glitter Embossing Powder and heat set it with my new Ranger Heat Tool. I added a clear rhinestone for the eye.

I then added a couple
more beads and another pearl to the stick pin. I'm liking this remake much better than the original. What is your opinion?

Thanks for the visit!

Away In A Manger

To say I'm enjoying the
Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium Collection is an understatement. Here is another Christmas card I created with "Merry and Bright" and "A Christmas Carol".

The card base is Bazzill's
Aspen. I also used American Crafts vanilla cardstock. Black Soot is the Distress Ink.

The dies are Spellbinder's
Fancy Tags Two and Tim Holtz's Alterations Mini Pine Tree & Holly Set. The jewels are TPC Studios "Reel Me In" and "Christmas Cheer".

Ahhhh... I'm moving ahead
with my list of "things to do". The dog has been bathed... that was the worst of the chores. If I can just get the gifts wrapped and cookies baked it will be smooth sailing. How are you doing?

Thanks for stopping by today!

City Crafter Challenge #86

is going Home for the Holidays. The theme and challenge is to create a project that is either a Holiday Home Decor project or make a project that includes a Home on it. Here is mine...

My card base is AC cardstock in
vanilla and the DP are The Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium Collection... "The Night Before Christmas", "Believe" and "Santa Express".

I put a little Rock Candy
Stickles on the snowy bits for some sparkle and Antique Linen Distress Ink on the edges. There's nothing like Home for the Holidays!

Train Tag For One Of The Boys

Yes!!! Another tag complete
and put on the pile. This one will be perfect for one of my grandsons.

Relying again on Graphic 45's
Christmas Emporium Collection, I cut the tag from "A Christmas Carol" and a piece from "Special Delivery". My son-in-law JD had given me that beautiful die cut train last year along with several others that I made into tags last Christmas. My daughter tells me that the boys liked them so well, they saved them and hung them on their tree as ornaments. Now the problem is... which grandson gets this.

Some Tim Holtz Sprocket
Gears, a Game Spinner, a Long Fastener, a Mini Paper Clip, black crinkled seam binding and a wide eyelet to embellish.

The "Play" Metal Art is
from K & Company. I also misted the tag with Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold and sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink on the edges.
Enjoy your weekend, my dear friends!

Thanks for the visit!

Masculine Encouragement Card

It seems that there are quite
a few friends from church who are in nursing homes or recovering at home from surgeries right now. Always a difficult time to go through, but even more so at Christmas.

I made this card entirely from scraps
laying here on my desk, including the card base that I had cut and folded awhile ago and didn't use. I don't know how many times I've picked up that green floral flourish only to lay it back on the ever growing pile.

I used Spellbinder's Labels
One, Tim Holtz's Alterations Mini Reindeer & 25 Set and Martha Stewart's Traditional Scallop punch.

The inks sponged on the edges
are Evergreen Bough and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I'm praying this card will be an encouragement.
As of today... I have our
Christmas tree up, the house decorated (inside only... still have to do the outside), most of the gifts bought, and some cards and tags made. I still have a long way to go... but I'm enjoying every minute!

Thanks for visiting!

Jingle Belles Wrap Up

The Jingle Belles Blog is
putting the wraps on this year's card challenge of making a Christmas card each week. If you have followed along, you should have nearly fifty cards finished and ready to send. Not so with me... unfortunately! I still have a few to go. Here is one I made this morning...

All white Bazzill cardstock
and sponged with Forest Moss Distress Ink.

The holly was cut with Tim Holtz's
Alterations Mini Pine Tree & Holly Set and sparkled with Rock Candy Stickles. I used another of the Prima Sultan Gems found in the Pixie Dust Paperie "Times Square Twenty 11" Kit. You can still purchase those here at Kirsty's blog.

I used Spellbinder's Labels
Seventeen die, Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots and Textile Texture embossing folders, and finished with TPC Studio's Reel Me In Jewels. You know, I really need to work faster if I'm going to be ready for Christmas. How are you doing?

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Kraft Journal Challenge #48

It's time to get your Christmas
Tags and Gift Card Holders made and join in a challenge at The Kraft Journal all at once. Here's one that I  made...

My tag is cut from The Kraft Outlet's
Brown Kraft Cardstock. The DP is Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium "Special Delivery" and Bo Bunny's Father Christmas "Stripe". I inked the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

I splattered and sprayed my tag
with Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist and put Rock Candy Stickles on the Sizzix #5 Dove's wing and on the Alterations Mini Holly. I tied on green crinkled seam binding and May Arts red twine.

The red jewels are TPC Studio's
Christmas Cheer. The Prima Sultan Gem came from last December's Pixie Dust Paperie Kit "Times Square Twenty 11".
Have you gotten all of your
tags made? I must confess that our Tennessee vacation has thrown me way off schedule. I need to get in gear.
Thanks for visiting!
