You Are Such A Joy Thank You Card

Hi friends! I hope that your week has been pleasant so far and you're creating away!
I did this thank you card using My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart 6x6 designer paper pad called Be Happy. It's a lovely collection from a few years back. Since I wanted this to fit in an envelope, I made it as flat as possible by using some small single petal Prima flowers as my embellishments.

The thank you was cut with Alterations Thinlits Celebration Words using paper from DCWV's 6x6 Glitter Cardstock Stack.

I basically made this with a 4x5.5 white card base and scraps from the paper pad. Nothing fancy, but I loved how it turned out... and it said what I was thinking.

Joy Birthday Card For Mom

My mother turned ninety-six last week. What a milestone! I'm sure when she had her eighty-fifth birthday she wasn't planning ahead as to what she would do when she turned ninety-five let alone ninety-six. Who ever would think they would be around that many decades. Her body may be wearing down some, but she's sharp as a tack. On our last visit, she blessed us by reciting the scripture verses she's been learning... Psalm 91. Now that's something to want to emulate.

This is the birthday card I created for her. It's mostly from vintage Prima. The ephemera pieces are by Tim Holtz Idea-ology. The trim was cut with Alterations Thinlits Lace.

The glitter charm is by The Girls' Paperie and you can buy them here.

The pink flowered vine is by Prima with a few I Am Roses rosebuds tucked in.

In Every Walk With Nature Pocket Card With A Magnet

In going through my stash looking for embellishments I haven't used in awhile, I found a whole stack of laser cut wood magnets I purchased from my favorite wood dealer in Gatlinburg, TN. I remember buying these to put on cards, getting them home, promptly wrapping them in tissue, and putting them away... two years ago.Well, it's still a great idea, so I'm executing it... with just a bit of delay.

I wanted a way to create the card so I wouldn't have to glue down the magnet. I found by building up some layers and adding flowers, I could just tuck the magnet in place and it would hold.

The base of my pocket card is Prima's Romantique from the Sweet Fairy collection. The other papers are by Graphic 45. In place of a tag, I inserted a G 45 post card. The lace is from my stash... just a scrap I found in the bottom of one of my trims boxes. The center flower is an oldie by Prima and the purple velvet ones are Petaloo. The bow is wrinkled purple seam binding.

The G 45 birds and nest image is popped up with 3-D foam. The doily was cut with Alterations Thinlits Doily 2.

I added another layer under the spot where the magnet fits, so when you remove it, the card is still finished nicely. I put on an additional wood piece (the butterfly) by the same craftsman.
Hope you like it!

Expresso Yourself Pocket Card and A Buckeye Burl Motorcycle Pen

Still on my journey to downsize my paper stash, I've created a pocket card with my last sheet of Glitz Vintage Love Polka. It literally makes me cry to see this go. I adore this sheet. This has to be one of the best vintage polka dot patterns every made. I'm down to one small rectangle of it, and I may not be able to part with it. On the other hand, I just have to reduce this huge amount of paper.

Polka made a beautiful base for the Moxxie coffee papers... a great team!

I used the last one of the Darice Cafe` 3-D Embellishments... this cute little cafe` hanging sign. I added in a few I Am Roses flowers plus ferns and leaves cut with Alterations Thinlits Garden Greens.

The antique copper corner is by Momento.

The Penmaker's antique brass motorcycle pen features a gorgeous piece of buckeye burl wood finished to perfection.

Very unique!

Take Flight Makeover

I'm popping in here on a cold, snowy day in Ohio to show you a few photos of a redo from last week. The leaves on my first go-round of this card just didn't make me happy. After looking at it several times, I realized what it needed was just a touch more color.

So I disposed of my handmade sage green leaves, and added these pretty green ones with a tinge of red on the tips. Ahhh, so much better!

These are my go to, standard tiny leaves from I Am Roses, and what a difference they make. I love the pop they bring. They seem to bring out the beauty of these images (Tim Holtz) better than what I had originally.

While I was at it, I thought I'd put on some bling... with a couple of Prima Say It In Crystals.
That's all for today. Back to the craft table and another peek out the window at the falling snow... Gorgeous!

Prima All Occasion Card

Hello, my crafty friends. It's a gorgeous day here, but killer freezing cold. Good night, how I long for some warmer weather!

Today's card is just a normal 4" x 5.5" white base, but again with a variety of collections. I teamed up Prima Pastiche, Kaisercraft Curiosity, and Bazzill Dots.

These two die-cuts were made with Alterations Thinlits Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Ovals. The wood butterfly is from my favorite wood shop in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This beautiful topiary tree is by Darice... one of their 3-D Embellishments packs called Cafe`. I've have these for quite some time, but they still might be available. The red rhinestones are from TPC Studio, and are discontinued. I love the fact I'm using up this huge stash of supplies. Time to move forward.

The lace is vintage, and my bow is May Arts ivory burlap string. This drop-dead flower is from Prima's A Victorian Christmas line... lovely anytime of year... and my signature curly vines from our woods out back. That's it!
Have a happy Wednesday... stay warm... and create something pretty!

I Only Drink Coffee Pocket Card

Here I am today to show you another new line of papers that... sigh... are unfortunately discontinued. I bought these last year while visiting Gettysburg, PA. I hadn't seen them anywhere before so I was assuming they were just released. Wrong on that score! Nevertheless, this is a very cool coffee themed collection by a company called Moxxie. The sheets are double-sided and the colors are deep and rich. I only bought a few... a mistake I make way too often.

For the base and tag I used a sheet covered in coffee rings and spills... a paper only we true coffee connoisseurs can appreciate. I fussy cut the cup and saucer and added other bits and pieces from my four precious sheets (the rest of which will be used sparingly). The tissue flower is an oldie by Prima that I scrunched up to give it more body. The rosebuds are by I Am Roses and the coffee brown embroidered leaves came from Surplus City.

I tied a two-toned, wrinkled seam binding bow on to my tag using a brighter shade of green for some extra pop. With all that brown I thought it needed something to lighten it up. Now it puts me in the mind of a peppermint latte. Yummy!!!

To top things off... two metal antique copper corners by Memento popped up with foam adhesive.
That's it for my coffee pocket card. Now excuse me while I run to Starbucks!
