A Glitz Birthday Pocket Card and Movie Pens

I haven't had a minute to create any new cards since we've returned home from our Whitehall, NY/ Gettysburg, PA trip. I do, however, have a few from two weeks ago that I haven't posted yet. This birthday card is layered with lots of older Giltz Design patterns that I love... and like most of my older stuff, comes from a Pixie Dust Paperie kit.

The Damask paper is from the Glitz Love Nest collection (sigh)... it's soooo pretty. Unfortunately for me, mine is all gone now. I like using up my old collections, but it's a kind of love/hate thing. It's so sad when I don't have them anymore.

The little girl sticker is a vintage K & Company 3-D and the pink and crystal wheat sprays are several years old as well. The flowers are an assortment of Petaloo and I Am Roses. The die cuts were made with Spellbinders Oval Floral and Alterations Stitched Ovals and Tiny Tabs & Tags. The floral die cuts are from Alterations Spring Greenery.

I cut the leaves with Spellbinders Foliage. They're made from a manilla file folder, inked with Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn, and finished with Ranger's UTEE. The edges were sponged with Walnut Stain DI. The pink organza ribbon is from Michaels and the pink nylon with pearls trim is from Hobby Lobby.

The floral mat under the sticker is a digi. I trimmed the corners with We R Memory Keepers Scallop.

A couple of new projects The Penmaker created for our son's latest documentary. He gathers the wood at the sighting locations and stabilizes it. Then makes the pens from the stabilized wood. Every piece looks different.

Harvest Time and Shooting Time

Talk about not feeling like Fall. It's been in the nineties here in our part of Ohio for the last week. The Penmaker and I did some yard work yesterday, and the temperature seemed extreme for September. Maybe I should switch back to baby or birthday cards until it cools down a bit. I hope that will be this week.

I bought some of Graphic 45's An Erie Tale collection and put it together with that Harvest Time tag from the G45 Place in Time November sheet. A good mix, I thought.

The light brown flower is one of the Prima Serenity that I love and use so much. The small orange ones are by I Am Roses. The beautiful orange seam binding ribbon  just came from Prairie Bird Boutique (How could I be out of orange seam binding this time of year?), and my bow is tied with May Arts natural burlap string. The leaves are my hand-dyed wool ones cut with Alterations Mini Branch & Leaf set. There's a little clump of Spanish moss in there, too.

My copper maple leaf is from Momenta. The calendar piece is from an Idea-ology ephemera pack by Tim Holtz, and I cut the orange dotted frame with Spellbinders Labels One.

The Penmaker got back from the New York trip safe and sound Sunday evening. I'll tell you I was never so happy to see someone as I was when he pulled the car into the garage. I guess that's a pretty normal reaction for a couple that are going to be celebrating their forty-nineth anniversary next week.

From what I hear, the shooting went very well and they had an enjoyable time together. That's team work, right!

Father , son and the instigator of the whole thing.

Now for hours and hours of editing and what ever else he does to make it all happen. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sad and Lonely

I final broke down and purchased some new papers. Not an entire collection like my normal, but a few sheets to add to my older fall themed stash. I bought some of Echo Park's "The Story of Fall" and their "Dots & Stripes" in autumn colors. They seem to blend quite well with my older Imaginisce patterns.

I combined I Am Roses flowers with a couple of tiny orange blooms from Petaloo along with two of my hand-dyed wool leaves cut with Alterations's Mini Branch and Leaf set. There's also a fern tucked in the mix cut with their Thinlits Holiday Greens.

The fox and under layers were cut using Spellbinder's Scalloped Ovals, Classic Ovals and Deckled Rectangles.  The base mat was cut with Alterations Postage Stamp Frame.

I added just a touch of cotton lace.

Love this little guy.

Now for my big news I've been dying to tell you.

Sometimes what we have planned just doesn't work out, and the Penmaker and I are happy in knowing that God is in control and it's best to just accept what He has for us.

You may have heard that our son is working on his next movie, Beast of Whitehall, and has already shoot a ton of footage. Due to some problems, he has to reshoot a lot of the interviews, which means another trip to upstate New York. When my husband and I heard the Director was planning a return trip, we quickly volunteered to help in anyway... drive him there, hold his boom mic, whatever! So it was all set. We would go in two weeks. I was SO excited! I would actually help film a movie! Little did I know it wasn't meant to be... at least not for me. The team is on their way now, and here I sit writing a post. I had a reoccurring health problem come up, and am unable to travel. Bummer!

I got to help them pack some of the camera equipment last night, so I can still stay I worked on his crew. I'll let you know how things progress. In the meanwhile, the Penmaker and I are spending a lot of time on our phones. I don't want to miss anything!

Thanks for stopping by!
