J'adore Valentine Pocket Card & Movie Update

I'm still in high gear working on Valentine's Day cards. I love the feeling that comes with creating something to be given to a person you love.

The base paper for this card (MME Lost & Found Heirloom) was so pretty, I didn't want to cover too much of it up. I kept the layers at a minimum so the glittery J'adore could shine.

To enhance it, I heat embossed all my leaves and ferns with Ranger's Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (utee), which gave them a cool, wet look... very glossy. I applied it three times to build up the coat for optimum gloss.

I added some Idea-ology ephemera, hearts cut with Alterations Mini Hearts dies, half pearls, roses, lace, red heart trim, and copper metal accents.

I'm entering my card at these challenges:

For those interested, our son will begin filming his third documentary in April. If you would like to be a part of that, here is the link to the Kickstarter.

With All My Love Valentine Pocket Card

All lace and doilies and hearts and pearls... truly a romantic card. I love the red and white ones, but there's just something wonderful about a pink Valentine.
The blue dotted base paper is from Prima's Delight collection... I used both sides. The other one is MME Lost & Found Heirloom.

I pulled another vintage digi from my stash and framed it with a Spellbinders Framed Floral cut. The big pink bloom is a Petaloo Botanica...

the small paper ones are from I Am Roses. The half pearls are by Queen & Co, and the strung pearls are from Darice. My white doily was cut with Alterations Distress Doily.

The I Love You postcard charm (which isn't showing up very well, sorry) is from The Funkie Junkie Boutique. It's in an antique bronze finish and matches the corner filigree piece, also from Linda's store.

Have a happy Friday! It's snowing here in Ohio, ugh, but we plan on making the best of it, and are meeting our son at IHOP for breakfast.

A Greeting To My Valentine Pocket Card & The Dragon Ballpoint Pen

My go to Valentine collection has been My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Heirloom. I was able to get a hold of another 12"x12" collection pack from an online shop, which made me extremely happy... however, I did have to pay more for the shipping than the actual cost of the goods and I did have to wait two weeks until it was delivered. Nevertheless... I'm thrilled to have it!

I teamed it up with a sweet digi and an Alteration Ornate Frame in plain white cardstock.

The two main roses are Recollections and all the others are from I Am Roses.

They're on a blanket of cheesecloth. The heart was cut with Alterations Mini Hearts set.

The music note clip and gems are by Prima.

The Penmaker has created two of these Dragon pens, this one in a purple/green designer acrylic with antique pewter. The colors are just amazing. There is so much detail on this right on down to the Tiger Eye crystal on the end.

Hugs Valentine Pocket Card

I used up (sigh) the last of my treasured Making Memories Je t'adore paper called Floral Ledger. Another oldie gone forever. I have got to find some new stuff that's pretty!

The framed piece was cut with Spellbinders Fleur De Lis squares.

My white glittered rose is Prima and the pink ones are from Recollections... I bought four or five cans of these on clearance a few years back. So happy I did! They came with the leaves as well.

I cut the tag with Alterations Tiny Tabs & Tags Bigz die. It's stamped with a Hugs stick stamper by Judith. I bought this ages ago at a huge stamping event in Akron, Ohio. I see she still sells online here

The wood clock is from Prima, the little metal heart and rhinestones are both by TPC Studio.

I used cheesecloth for a base with the flowers and added a natural May Arts burlap string bow.

Two more of my oldies... the pink vintage lace and the heart rhinestone paper clip that was a Recollections clearance item also.

One Sweet Kiss Pocket Card

Somedays while I'm creating a card, the seamstress in me takes control and I end up with a card that has a lot of fibers and fabrics. Can you count them all?
Ivory burlap base, cheesecloth, ecru lace trim...

a red burlap string bow and a piece of embroidered medallion trim from Prima.

For the papers I have 7 Gypsies Lille and Prima Stationer's Desk. The double frame was cut with Alterations Ornate Frame and is decorated with cut pearl trim and Queen & Co half pearls.
The paper clip is Prima SD.

My flowers are by I Am Roses, the leaves are Recollections from Michaels.

The polka dot corner stickers are Prima SD as is the chipboard focal piece. It reads... "This card entitles the recipient One Sweet Kiss from The Sender".

Friday again... where do the days go?
I've been super busy this week working with magazines for my shop. It's such a treat to have this little bit of my past left. I can tell you, I loved it when I had my book business and would travel around the country to work with the authors. Good memories!
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

Remember I Love You Pocket Card

I created this as a Valentine card, however looking at it here it certainly has a dark and moody appearance. That must have been how I was feeling when I made it... I have no other explanation.
These papers are some of my favorite from Prima, Stationer's Desk.

This is another of those collections where I bought the entire package including the stamp set (which I will probably never use.) I love the colors and patterns, and since it has the writing theme, I'm sure The Penmaker was urging me on to splurge and buy it all. He's so supportive of my hobbies!

I used utee again on my Distress inked leaves (Spellbinders Foliage) and fern (Alterations Thinlits Holiday Greens.) The gray bloom is a Petaloo Botanica and the tiny burgundy ones were cut off my trim.

Chipboard, tag, and ticket from the collection. The "I" and "YOU" are My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Antique Record It alpha and word stickers.

I finished it up with Ranger's Liquid Pearls in Pewter and Walnut Stain Distress ink, and added one of the 6"x4" ATC tags to the pocket.

Have a happy day!

About You Pocket Card

I created this special birthday card for a sweet little lady about to turn seven years old. The papers are quite an unlikely match, but blended perfectly. The base and the top mat are from Tim Holtz 12"x12" Wildflower paper stash by Idea-ology. (By the way... have you seen their new one coming soon called Dapper? Take a peek here. I love this and have already preordered. I think it will be a winner for cards.)

I still have some of the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found collection from a few years back called Heirloom, and pulled it out thinking it just might coordinate with this Wallflower pattern. What a happy surprise when it did. I fussy cut my little girl from one of the ephemera pieces in the Record It pack. The "7", the dotted banner, and "About You" were in that pack as well.

The lace is a vintage one from my stash. The main bloom is a Petaloo Botanica and the tiny rosebuds are from I Am Roses. I cut the Birthday Wishes tag with Alterations Tiny Tabs & Tags and added some May Arts pink burlap string.

I cut the fern using an Alterations Holiday Greens Thinlits die. I went with a piece of a manilla file folder and colored it with Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint Distress ink. When the inks were still wet, I poured on utee and hit it with my Ranger heat tool (this is that replacement one Ranger sent me. It's working like a dream.)

I fussy cut this heart from the 6"x6" Heirloom paper pad, sponged on Worn Lipstick Distress ink, added the "7" ephemera piece with some 3-D foam adhesive. They went on top of the dotted banner as did a Queen & Co half pearl and a TPC Studio rhinestone.

The tag is decorated with a wide pink eyelet from We R Memory Keepers, a couple of pearl baubles and a jump ring by Idea-ology, along with a wrinkled seam binding double bow.

I hope you had a great weekend and are starting your Monday with a smile!

I Love You in Inky Purples

Each year after CHA, I seem to get a renewed interest in using all my Ranger products, especially Distress inks. I have nearly every color, and am working on getting them all. I just ordered four of the newer ones... Carved Pumpkin, Lucky Clover, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet. I was really wishing I had Wilted Violet when did this card, but I'm still happy with the results of Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord, and Shaded Lilac.

The trim is one of Prima's older products that I've always loved. This is the last of what I had put away, except for about a tiny one inch piece.  The silver heart charm is from my stash.

The flowers and leaves are all by Petaloo. I applied some Twinklets Diamond Dust onto the purple Botanica bloom using Liquitex matte medium.

The rhinestones are from TPC Studio, the music paper scalloped heart is from my stash (bought online several years ago), my wood butterflies are from my favorite wood shop in Tennessee, some of the papers are Graphic 45, the ephemera pieces are by Idea-ology, and the lace heart is from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

The green pearl stems are by Petaloo.
