Change Is In The Wind Birthday Card

Hi friends! I hope you're all doing well and enjoying cooler weather like we are here in Ohio. After such a long stretch of high temperatures, the 70's are so welcome.
Today I'm posting a birthday card I created for our darling DIL... and I'm telling you this gal looks just her... slim and beautiful dark hair.

I used my go to fall papers from Carta Bella for this, plus their wonderful chipboard stickers.

The flowers are an older Petaloo bloom and one from I Am Roses along with my hand colored (Distress Inks) leaves made from a manilla file folder and cut with Spellbinders Foliage.

A real acorn with a wrinkled, double seam binding bow...

and an insert tag with Happy Birthday cut with Tim Holtz Thinlits.

Have a great day!

Life On The Farm Fall Card

Todays post is definitely photo heavy. The Penmaker likes to hit every angle, so I might as well show them off and make him smile.

This card is one of my favorites that I've created for Fall. The image is from that amazing Enhancements sheet from Authentique's Homestead collection. Truly this is a must have for Fall cards.

My brown polka dot base is paper by Echo Park... the teal checked is Carta Bella. The metal rim tag is the last one from a purchase I made at Kraft Outlet some time ago. The tiny natural clothes clip is by Darice from Consumer Crafts.

My flowers are a mix of Petaloo and I Am Roses with wood leaves from the wood shop in Tennessee and natural May Arts burlap string loops.

The printed Home chipboard sticker is Carta Bella's Autumn and the brads are vintage My Minds Eye.

Granddaughter Adelaide has acquired the habit of bringing me acorns, just like her daddy did. I bake them in a very low oven for an hour to kill any unsavory creatures lurking inside before I use them.

The Fall leaf is from Carta Bella's Autumn Element Stickers. I colored the seam binding using Distress Inks... Carved Pumpkin and Rusty Hinge.

The wood piece between the teal checked paper is a Prima 3x4 ATC that I colored with Ground Expresso Distress Ink.

I think that covers all the details for this one.
Hope you all have a happy day!

Feeling Blessed Fall Wall Hanging

After a week of 50th anniversary celebrations... I'm feeling blessed myself! This Feeling Blessed wall hanging, however, was a birthday gift I made for daughter number two. Both of our girls had birthdays last month, and since they are big home decor fans, I thought they would like something new for fall to hang.

I did a lot of dimensional layering with these papers and fabric. The material is one from Tim Holtz I've had in my stash for some time. I ready need to break this stuff out a lot sooner than what I'm doing... such a hoarder! Shame on me!

The papers are by Carta Bella, Bo Bunny and Echo Park. The coke bottle is a Carta Bella Autumn sticker as is the Feeling Blessed tab. The multi stripe border is another.

The wood leaves are from my Tennessee wood shop. I got the dragonfly from there, too. I'm hoping my stash will hold out until we can make another venture down there to restock.

The flowers are a mix of Petaloo Botanicas and I Am Roses mulberry flowers with some natural May Arts burlap string loops added in for additional texture.

Celebrations

Just popping in to give you a peek at a birthday card I did for my grandson's 11th birthday last month. My daughter had a big event for his day at Fort Laurens in one of the shelters. Quite the do, and a great place for all the kids to run around and play.

Grayden is big into Legos and Bigfoot. We can buy him the legos, so I did his card with a Star Wars theme... Kylo Ren to be exact.

The kids surprised the Penmaker and I with a 50th Anniversary party (exact date is the 16th) Friday night in the upstairs of the building we used to own and have our Civil War bookstore and craft supply warehouse. It's now a fabulous barbecue restaurant and they supplied the food as well as the venue. What a blessing for us all to be back there again. This has truly been an unforgettable celebration... and it's not over yet!!!

Fall Cranberry Card

I'm totally in my happy place with this card. Love the papers (Carta Bella Harvest), love these colors, and love this image (Authentique's Homestead collection Enhancements sheet). I've been in full swing mode with fall cards, making them for all our family birthdays, which is a bunch for September. The colors of fall seem to gear me up for creating, and I'm crazy about the addition of this teal into the mix. The checked paper is gor...geous!!!

One of these leaves is blocking the best part of this image. The lady is actually holding a basket of cranberries. Can anything say fall better than cranberries... besides corn and pumpkins that is!

My teeny little orange leaves are crafting buttons I bought from the fabric shop in Berlin. Joann and Hobby Lobby probably sell these too, but it's more fun shopping in Amish country.

The weather has gone from bad to worse as far as humidity, so I've had to put my back woods project on hold for a few days. Can't wait to get out there again though. I picked up this rock while clearing some debris. It could be some sort of tool. The Fort Laurens site is just across the river from our back yard, so we know there were a lot of Indians in this area.

If you have any ideas please let me know.

Eat, Drink & Be Scary Fall Card

With the few scraps and a half a sheet left from last years purchase of Graphic 45's An Eerie Tale, I pulled together another Fall card... pocket variety.

I love any paper with a plaid or checked pattern, so this orange and purple one drew my attention when I first saw it. I bought these sheets last year when we were staying at a condo in Tennessee, just across the street from Your Scrapbook Superstore. I've mentioned this place lots of times... one of the few fully stocked independent scrapbook stores still around. You have to visit them if you're ever in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge.

I added two small tags to this card for sentiments... one in the usual side pocket and another in a front pocket I made by attaching a glassine bag.

I did some fussy cutting and added lots of 3-D foam adhesive for dimension.

This is the glassine bag pocket topped with a scrap of lace... a trio of rhinestones in the corner to add a little bling.

The flowers are a Botanica by Petaloo and S-11 blooms from I Am Roses.

We are catching up on work around the house today after the long weekend. I'm helping the Penmaker clear up the area at the back of our property the leads into the woods. He's been cleaning it out all summer and we're almost ready to plant grass back there. If you're susceptible to poison oak or ivy... it's not the place to be! Hopefully we can get it under control.

Cassidy's coming to check out what I'm doing.

Back along that second tree line on the other side of the corn field is the river and the canal path where we go walking. We've been here about 44 years now and never get tired of this view.
