You Are Loved Pocket Card & New Pens

Kind of a different card today. It's not my normal in the fact that it's a feminine card, but hasn't even one flower on it.
The base and tag are from the Idea-ology Dapper Paper Stash. I combined them with a very old Designer Mat Pad by K & Co called Ancestery. My pad has a price sticker on it that says 10¢. How's that for a bargain. I actually think my daughter bought this for me so basically it was free. The papers are gorgeous, and like always, I'd like to hang on to it.

The image is from Graphic 45's Mon Amour Forever Mine. It's mated and popped up with foam adhesive. The lace is from my stash, and the Photographic Album ephemera piece is by Tim Holtz. I grabbed this one without noticing which pack it was from, sorry. The doily was cut with Alterations Thinlits Doily 2.

I made the rosette with brown satin ruffled trim from my stash and a vintage button. The burlap string tied chipboard tag is part of the G45 Mon Amour collection.

I added antique brass filigrees in two sizes and a Prima wire key clip adorned with one of their beautiful Say It In Crystals.

From The Penmaker... three new beauties!

Sympathy Card Featuring Dapper & Wallflower

Today I have a pocket card to show that I created with a blend of Tim Holltz Paper Stash packs, Dapper and Wallflower. My Dapper pad is nearly full, so it's about time I start using some of this goodness.

The birds in Wallflower are all gorgeous, but I think these two are my favorite, and I especially like this piece in the 3"x4". That's what makes these pads so unique... the variety of sizes you get in one purchase.

Lots of layering... lots of 3-D foam adhesive. I always love the look. The doily was cut with Alterations Thinlits Doily Two, the tags with Sizzix Framelits w/Stamps.

I stamped two leaves on some scrap paper using Stampers Anonymous Nature Walk to add to my Petaloo flower along with some tiny ones cut with Thinlits Garden Greens. The twig heart is by Darice and the curly vine came from our woods out back.

Love this look!

Steampunk Happy Birthday Card Plus Key Pens

Pulling out the Kaisercraft box today, I'm using a variety of papers featuring Miss Empire for a steampunk birthday card. I've always been head over heels with this collection, but sad to say I'm reduced to scraps and just two full sheets, neither of which are my top favorites. Whine, whine, whine. Sorry, that was terrible. I have such an abundance of beautiful papers, I should never complain about using them up.

I put together a pocket card, adding in some metal brads from Prima and Graphic 45 to help the steampunk effect along.

The flowers are all from I Am Roses and the foliage was cut with Alterations Thinlits Garden Greens and shaped with my tweezers. The tiny Happy Birthday tag is a Sizzix Framelits w/Stamps. It's tied with my old standby, ivory May Arts burlap string.

Lots of 3-D foam adhesive here to pop things up to different levels!

The Penmaker's two pens are both key pens made in designer acrylic. This one is antique pewter with an authentic patina and natural darkening that brings out the details of the finish and creates a unique feel with a charm all it's own. Very lovely!

His second pen has a rustic, authentic look of antique brass. It's been chemically darkened to simulate aged brass, resulting in a beautiful, long lasting brown plating with golden undertones. I love the purple he chose to go with this!

Which is your favorite? I have a hard time deciding between the pair.

You Make Me Happy

It's a busy, busy, busy week. We decided to move some furniture around to make more space in my studio, and it's snowballed. Now we're switching what use to be The Penmaker's den into our new eBay room. His "Man Cave" is now in the living room downstairs which was the apartment where our son and his family (my sweet Adelaide) lived... part of which is still empty. Why do I start these massive projects? This one is going to go through to the weekend. I can't wait to get this done... my studio was really in need of a makeover.

Now a brief synopsis of my card. For this one, I pulled out Graphic 45's Mon Amour collection. For some odd reason, I never think to use this. Here is is tucked away in the closet while I work on Valentines using all my other papers. That's just crazy! These papers are beautiful!

Well, I combined them with My Mind's Eye Heirloom and did a pocket card.

I added in some pretty pink I Am Roses flowers and a tiny heart tag (Sizzix Stephanie Barnard Framelits w/Stamps) tied with May Arts ivory burlap string.

I cut "greens" using Alterations Thinlits Garden Greens. I cut hearts and the pink frame with Spellbinders Classic Hearts and Lattice Rectangles.

This frame is from the Mon Amour chipboard pack. It's embellished with Liquid Pearls. I cut the loving couple with Spellbinders Classic Ovals which is popped up with 3-D foam adhesive.

The antique brass corner is a new one a bought online. The organza for my bow came from Michaels.

If you have any questions, please ask. I'll be working away in my studio... or in the eBay room... or maybe downstairs... I'm not sure where. Have a happy day, my friends!

Happy Birthday 2 You

Time was running out, and I had to have a birthday card for our grand daughter pronto. With all the sickness going around our family, Penny's birthday party was delayed. So when our daughter called and asked if she could invite everyone that was able to come to our house for the gathering, I had to do some quick creating. Her birthday gift was already wrapped, but with not being well, I just hadn't gotten to making her card.

Since all my valentine makings were on my table and a lot of it was pink (Penny's favorite), I decided to go with that. My Mind's Eye Record It Heirloom to the rescue again.

I just did some basic layering, adding on vintage lace, MME 3-D stickers and ephemera.

I topped it with a bow of Michaels ribbon, I Am Roses flowers, and a teeny stamped Happy Birthday tag (Sizzix Framelits w/Stamps by Stephanie Barnard).
A big, happy 13th birthday to our sweetheart!

Provincial Sympathy Card

Kaisercraft's Provincial collection has a classic shabby chic feel to it that lends itself to so many different themes. I pulled it out the other day when I needed to make a sympathy card for a dear friend of our daughter and son-in-laws's who had lost her husband recently. The soft whites, muted blues, elegant timepiece, and sketched florals were, I felt, perfect for what I wanted to convey.

I kept my card simple so I wouldn't have to use a padded envelope. Even though I fussy cut and layered, it fit into the flat envelope successfully.

The only embellishments are a half pearl from Queen & Co and some May Arts ivory burlap string. I find that simple is more of a challenge than than any other form.
Have a great day, my friends.
