William... On The Go

When I bought Pink
Paislee's Hope Chest collection at Scrapdoodles earlier this summer, I had no idea I would get this much wear out of it. This collection has been great for every type of project... including layouts of grandchildren. Which is what I have here today.

I believe this is my
favorite collection so far this year... so versatile.

I mixed in some
Recollections kraft cardstock and a half sheet of an older Pink Paislee collection along with a scrap of one of their plaids. I store my papers according to manufacturers. I find that the colors, for the most part, will blend from collection to collection if I stay within a company. It seems to be easier when choosing patterns... it works for me!

The doily was
cut from Alterations Distressed Doily die. The butterfly is Petaloo.

The bit of notebook paper
was cut from Alterations Torn Notebook die. The flowers are all by Petaloo... the Darjeeling collection... LOVE these!!! The stenciling was done with Golden's molding paste and Prima's checkerboard stencil. The ink is Walnut Stain Distressed.

Idea-ology gears,
a lock charm from an Etsy shop and a Prima Vintage Trinket. The layout is backed with medium weight chipboard so it doesn't buckle.

Grayden

I'm sorry for my lack
of posts lately, but I still seem to be traveling through a non- creative valley that I can't climb out of. That's how bad it is... I just ended a sentence with a preposition!
Our grandson, Grayden, had
his eighth birthday last week. He's such a sweet little guy... I thought I'd make him a layout to hang in his room using some Gettysburg patterned paper. The photos were taken a couple of weeks ago on a picnic we had with our daughter and her family. Can you believe... I took a hundred and sixty-one photos that day... nearly all of our grandchildren. Oh boy!!!
Here's what I made him...

The base papers are from
the Pink Paislee Hope Chest collection and all others are paper I had bought at Forevermore Scrapbooks in Gettysburg on our last trip there. My stock is very low, so I think it's about time the Penmaker and I pack our bags and head over that way... good excuse, huh?

The metal corner is by
Momenta, the bolts on the top left and right corners are Prima Mechanicals, and the Hinge Clip at the top is from Idea-ology.

All the flowers are Petaloo,
the metal flourish is also a Momenta piece, and the natural burlap string is from May Arts.

This metal embellishment
piece by Recollections, I got on clearance at Michaels. It's topped with another of the Prima Mechanicals and wound with the burlap string. There's a Prima Junkyard Findings clock peeking out from under the torn edge of the Gettysburg map.

A Prima Junkyard Findings
zipper... and that word explore is perfect for this boy!!! He never stops.

The alpha stickers are
Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type in black.

The stars are Pink Paislee Artisan
Chipboard and the Distress ink on all the paper edges is Vintage Photo.

Always Together

My plans of creating
lots of projects this week have gone out the door... along with me. Who can stay inside when it's so pretty out? Ohio has finally gotten some nice weather albeit unseasonably cool. We have been wearing sweatshirts when we go for our walk in the morning, but oh, what a gorgeous sky!
I did a page in one of
my art journals yesterday that I'm really happy with...

Lots of layers of old lace,
scrap paper, masking and washi tape with stenciled gesso and ink... some Prima embellishments, a few Petaloo Darjeeling flowers, half a French Lace paper doily, a Momenta metal corner, an old Recollections butterfly bauble and a Spare Parts gear... a bunch of Lindy's SG sprays... and my bargain alpha stamp set from Michaels for a dollar to add my title.

Rubber Band Mini Revision

It's been a whole
week since I last posted. I seem to be in some sort of slump where I just can't get going. I have lots of projects in my head, but can't bring myself to the point of starting them. I best I've done this week was to revise the Timeless rubber band mini album I created the week before (here). It wasn't opening flat and was causing the pages to curl slightly. I cut the inside backing and added a strip of cloth tape along each side of the spine. Now it works like a charm. Since I was doing that I figured I may as well go ahead and embellish the pages and make a few photo tags. I also gave it a title...

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
Be creative!
