Hope Chest Card

Hi dear friends!

The other day I
was playing around with the new Pink Paislee Hope Chest collection I bought when we were in Virginia, and created this card. It really isn't what I had intended to make... just kept thinking of some things to try and liked how it was looking.

 I started with a Recollections
kraft cardstock base and put on two mats of Core'dinations Kraft-Core from the Nostalgic collection. Topped those with a Alterations Vintage Doily cut from ivory cardstock. I picked up a scrap of the Hope Chest paper left over from Sarah's birthday card I made a few days ago. Punched it and added regular size eyelets... then laced them with some thin turquoise organza ribbon. Next I made a pocket with the Alterations Pocket envelope, altering it slightly by cutting the top flap off in order to keep the pocket open. Punched it also, put on two eyelets and tied on a bow of the same ribbon. Glued on an old Girls Paperie glittered clock charm, and tucked in a piece from the Hope Chest Paper Goods pack. I gave this an eyelet and ribbon adornment too! Then I grabbed up two more of those Paper Goods die cuts, inked them with the same Vintage Photo Distress Ink I had been putting on everything else, and tucked them in behind that laced pieced that I popped up with 3-D foam adhesive.

Now to give it a
few flowers. I reached for the Prima box and the one containing the white I Am Roses blooms and green leaves. While I was at it, I thought I would add a couple Dear Lizzy metal rose brads... love those things!

To finish it off,
I glued on two Momenta metal corners.

As per my usual,
I left the tag blank until I decide where this card is going and what sentiment will be appropriate. I'll tell you... this is one heavy card!

We are off on another
trip this weekend. The Penmaker decided we needed to attend the Mid-Atlantic Penturner's Gathering near Richmond, Virginia. Since this isn't that far from Fredericksburg and the Scrapdoodles shop, I heartily agreed... if we could make a slight side trip. So there may be some scrappy shopping in my future.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Joy

Hi friends! I'm here
today to show you the card I created for our son's wedding. The base is white textured cardstock. Next is a layer of Orchestra from Prima's Lyric collection. I fussy cut a piece of Prelude and added that next. Edged it all with Black Soot Distress Ink. I fussy cut the clock with Joy from Pacato sheet, and adhered it along with a heart shaped doily. I topped that with a heart cut with Spellbinder's Classic Hearts. Edged it all with lots of I Am Roses white roses, pink rosebuds and Martha Stewart punched oak leaves. I dabbed Clear Rock Candy Stickles on all the flowers for a bit of sparkle. Three Queen & Company white pearls went in the right corner.

Orchestra
Prelude
Pacato

I printed their
names and the date on my white cardstock before cutting it out.
The wedding was beautiful
and the happy couple drove off on their honeymoon....
and they lived happily ever after!

Birthday Celebration

Hi, sweet blogging friends!
I'm popping back in today to show you that birthday card I made for our dear daughter-in-law.

I followed the
tutorial on the Scrapadabadoo blog here. It was quite simple, but took some time cutting all those different size mats. I'm always on the lookout for a new pattern, and this is one that I'm sure I'll make again.

The papers are
from the Pink Paislee Hope Chest collection. The base is Recollections kraft cardstock along with some in ivory for the mats.

The flowers are from
I Am Roses and Recollection. The resin window and bird are Prima Vintage Trinkets. The Distress Ink is Vintage Photo and the Happy Birthday text is Authentique Diction stickers.
Hope you all have a
great day. I need to run... I have a wedding to attend!

Some Sneak Peeks

Hello friends,
and welcome to my busy, busy week! But who isn't, right?
Today is daughter-in-law Sarah's birthday, tonight we have a wedding dinner and tomorrow our son Seth gets married. I may get some crafting done this morning, but for now I'll just show you a little peek of the birthday and the wedding cards I made...

using Pink Paislee Hope Chest...

made from Prima's Lyric!
I don't want them to see the finished product just yet.

Here is some information
about Blogger of which you may not be aware. Merry posted this on her blog here on Sunday, and me being behind, as usual, just read it this morning. When I went to my profile, I found that mind was unchecked. Who knew? I thought this might be a help to someone else, as well.
Hope you all have a great day!

A Moment In Time

It's been awhile since
I've worked in my art journal. When I pulled it out the other day, and flipped through the pages, I found this background I had done before our trip to Virginia. I remember putting down a lot of Distress Inks... Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves to be sure, but the other is anyones guess. I could see some stamped tissue and stenciled molding paste. That was the point that I quit.

So now, beginning again,
I put down some old lace and a couple layers of distressed papers, one from the Graphic 45 Secret Garden collection. I topped those with a torn piece of old book paper that I stamped with Unity's Insightful Meadows. I wrapped it with some very old ivory hemming lace. I stamped an Artistic Outpost girl onto a scrap of ivory cardstock and fussy cut her then sponged on a bit of Vintage Photo DI. I tucked in a Prime Vintage Trinket timepiece cut in two, then added Prima and Petaloo flowers and leaves along with oak leaves cut with a Martha Stewart punch. Put on an Idea-ology wire pin and a mini paperclip.

The text is
Authentique's Diction stickers and the pearls are from Queen & Co. The rhinestone on the black Prima flower is by Hero Arts.

To Mom

Happy Mothers Day

Proverbs 31:10-31
10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Wishing all of you mothers a most blessed day!

B Is For Bear

Our grandson, Will, had
his forth birthday this week and tonight is his birthday party. Topping his list of likes are... bears... which is the party theme. I haven't a clue as to why he likes them, but who am I to question... grandparents are to provide. So we bought a couple of bear items while in the Smokey Mountains to give him, along with this tag...

I started out to make
a card from a number ten size black tag, but folded it wrong. So using it as a template, I cut one from Graphic 45 paper... their 8x8 pad of An ABC Primer... and decided to just use at as a tag.

I cut the top off the
original black tag, and glued it to the bottom as a holder for some smaller tags.

The bottom of the black
one that I had cut with Alterations Brackets die, I topped with more G45 and an image I stamped with Stampscapes Nature Sheet Set #6 and a small bear. William should get a kick out of this.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
