Sentimental Sundays Challenge #74

is asking us to do something with our project that we don't usually do... a technique, a fancy fold, something that challenges our creativity.... to "Step Out of Your Comfort Zone".
I'm stepping out with some fabric...

I made this card from last
October's Fall in Love kit from PDP plus a couple of other items from my stash. I thought I would incorporate some wool left over from coasters I had made last year. My idea was to try sewing it to the border strip, but my machine had other ideas. I ending up gluing it. Oh well... roll with the punches!

I also thought I would try
to die cut a piece of cardboard to use as a mat... thankfully it fit through my Cuttlebug.
Used: Spellbinder's Large Deckled Rectangles die, Walnut Stain Distress Ink, Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, Round Metal Edge Grungy Tag, Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock, two buttons, Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves Die, old leaves stamp set bought on sale ages ago, Martha Stewart border punch.

Well, now on to the important things...

Isn't he growing? I am blessed!!!
Thanks for stopping by to visit... you guys are the best!

Fall Tea Bag Holder Card

My dd mother-in-law's
birthday is today and I wanted to make a special card for her. Nancy's is just the sweetest lady and a tremendous blessing. When I saw Tracy's tutorial on making a tea bag holder card, I knew that this was what I wanted to give her. I decided to make it with a fall theme.

Weight Cardstock from Kraft Outlet for the card base teamed with the Imaginisce Happy Harvest Collection DP. Also used some cardstock scraps from my stash.

Following Tracy's excellent
instructions... my completed project.

Room for three tea bags.

I made a pocket with this pumpkin image
and tucked my sentiment tag inside. I wrote a message to her on the back of a Kraft Outlet Grungy Tag and stamped the front with Distress Inks using TPC Studio's Autumn Harvest Set. Tied on a Prima Vintage Trinket and a Tim Holtz Muse Token.
I'm entering this card in:

Shopping Our Stash Challenge - No Coloring Allowed!

This week at SOS...
put down those markers and pencils and dig out the cut outs, patterned paper, paper piece, etc... anything as long as you don't color in an image!

Here I combined a light gray cardstock
for the card base and orange cardstock for the mats. The designer papers are part of the Mischievous Collection from My Minds Eye - "Spooky Plaid" and "Candy Dots".

Lots of distressing going on
here: Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The image is a digi purchased online.

I just bought Tim Holtz Sizzix
Tattered Leaves Die with a coupon at Joanns and couldn't wait to use it. LOVE this die. (Prepare to see lots of projects in the future with leaves.) These black and white roses are from a recent order I received from I Am Roses. The rhinestones are from a package of Teresa Collins Haunted Hallows assortment.
Thanks for coming by today and have a great Friday!
The Penmaker and I are headed out to Pat Catan's for a little craft shopping!

City Crafter Challenge #75

Lovely Hostess, Ros, has set
a challenge for us at CCCB of "Let's Face the Music"... include music or something to do with music on your project. Mine is...

I finally broke into my new
September Tecolote Kit, using a few of the contents for this card.... GCD Studios Ella Blue "Georgia" and Journal Cards "Antiquities" and American Crafts Chocolate cardstock. I really think I will need more of these papers.

The grungy tag is from Kraft Outlet,
stamped with Timeless Textures from Skipping Stones Design. The cardstock was cut with Spellbinder's Floral Doily Motifs and topped with a Bo Bunny Forever Fall Trinket and an I Am Roses mini rose. Bling is from Recollections.

My sentiment is TPC Studio Autumn Harvest.
I also used: Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Jet Black Archival Ink, Martha Stewart Rose Leaf Punch, white cardstock, I Am Roses assorted roses, brown trim from my stash.
Hope to see you tomorrow
with another fall card. Thanks for visiting!

Kraft Outlet Challenge #37

If you go to the Kraft Journal,
you'll see that the challenge for this week is "Welcome Fall". Now I ask you, "Who doesn't love fall"? After all, it is the best time of the year, right?

I made this card with a base of
Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock from Kraft Outlet. I love the heavy weight of this paper and the warm tones of the brown. It combined perfectly with product from my Country Farm Stand Kit and Graphic 45's Le Cirque "Bohemian Floral" paper. I used the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser and Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the edges.

The florals are: I Am Roses and
Recollections. I punched a few oak leaves using my Martha Stewart punch and a scrap of the Brown Kraft CWC. I painted the curly roses and the gardenia with Folk Art's Metallic Champagne acrylic paint for a little shine.

From my kit: Girls' Paperie Tinsel &
Twig Chipboard Alphabets, Tim Holtz Fanciful Buttons, Webster's Pages Spring Market "Gardener's Seeds" and "Market Menu", Pink Paislee's Old School "Curriculum".
From my stash: Darice Natural Hemp Cord in black.

The dies were cut with Spellbinder's
Lacey Circles and Large Circles. I cut two of these images from the WP Spring Market DP. The pumpkin was stamped with a Sweet 'N Sassy stamp and black Archival Ink onto a scrap of ivory cardstock. It's colored with Distress Inks... Peeled Paint for the stem. I had to mix Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Vintage Photo and Antique Linen to get this effect (have to get more colors!). I used 3-D Foam Dots and Tim Holtz Memo Pins to apply them to the card.
Hope you like it and you'll
join me in Welcoming Fall and this fun challenge.
Thanks for stopping! Have a wonderful day!

I'm A Happy Grandma

I was able to meet my new
grandson, Kenneth James, last night and have a little "holding time".

The happy grandpa!

Isn't a baby a miracle?
Psalm 139:14  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Thank you for visiting today!

The florals are all from I Am Roses.

The pearls are from Recollections,
the number one is an American Crafts Thickers from my June Summer of Love Kit and the die was cut with a Spellbinder's Floral Doily Motifs. The Distress Ink is Antique Linen.

Kraft Outlet Challenge #36

I made this fall card for the
"Use a Sketch" Challenge over at Kraft Outlet using my favorite of their Kraft cardstocks... Lunch Bag Kraft.

I teamed it up with the beautiful
Imaginisce Happy Harvest Collection, which has won my heart! Some of these double sided papers have a glossy finish... as you can see by the glare from my poor photographic skills (sorry).

I did lots of distressing with my
Tim Holtz Paper Distresser and Vintage Photo Ink.

The florals are all from I Am
Roses, paper leaves are by Martha Stewart punches and Sizzix Branch w/Leaves Die.

The bling is from Recollctions.

I used this sketch from
Hope you'll join us over at Kraft Outlet's Challenge #36... you still have time to get your project made and posted.

Now back to yesterday and our
big 45th anniversary celebration. Among other festivities, we went apple picking with a couple of our children and two of the grandchildren. Actually, there are three grandchildren there... our daughter will go to have her baby Monday, if not sooner!

The Penmaker, our son, Seth and me...
such a happy day!
Thank you for the visit... love you guys!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is the Penmaker's and my
45th anniversary. It's been an adventure that, if written, could be a Pulitzer Prize winner! When I said "I do" little did I know of the trials, the laugher, the heartbreaks, the joys, the sorrows and the thrills that awaited me and my beloved. Life is a journey, so we packed our suitcases to the brim and started out! After 45 years... I have no regrets and am more in love with this man than at the beginning.
Thank you, Lord, for giving me a
husband who loves you and seeks to glorify your name, who has always provided for the family, who has never put himself first, who is kind, patient and loving and to top it off, takes me to craft stores and buys me scrapbooking supplies!

My sweetheart gave me
this darling card, a gorgeous arrangement of roses and a Michael's gift card... how could I not love him!!!
Have a wonderful day and go hug your sweetheart!

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #17

At SOS we are asked this week
to sort through our stash and pull out some vintage or shabby elements and/or distress our project for the "Vintage or Distressed or Shabby Chic" challenge. Now this is my kind of challenge... love this!!!
I say that and to be truthful, I worked two days on this little card...

The paper is from Graphic 45 Baby 2 Bride
Collection "From This Moment". I also used a bit of Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden 6x6 Pad and a scrap of Creative Imaginations, plus three colors of cardstock.

This sweet image is from Crafty Secrets.
She is atop two die cuts... Spellbinders Lacey Circles and Floral Doily Motifs. I used Antique Linen Distress Ink on all edges plus my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser.

The flourish is part of the Spellbinders
Floral Doily Motifs set. I cut dies from Die-namics Butterflies, Rolled Daisy and Pretty Posies sets. I sprayed them all with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist.

I added some of my I Am Roses flowers,
that were also sprayed with the Marshmallow GM, to the centers of the paper flowers I assembled. Then dabbed on some Antique Linen DI. The leaves are cut from Sizzix Branch w/Leaves. I also used a Martha Stewart punch for that paper piece down the center.

Sprinkled a few Recollections and
Queen & Co adhesive backed pearls here and there.
Thank you for stopping by today.
I love our visits together, but I'm doing all the talking. Please tell me what you think...
