Londonerry Baby Card

I really need to purchase
some papers for baby projects. It would probably be easier to just go to one paper pad and choose than to hunt through every box of collections in my studio like I'm doing now. On the other hand, I've always been up for a challenge.

This card was created
using Prima's Londonerry. I haven't much of it left, but this sheet was just the perfect base added with a few scraps from the very old Jack & Jill collection.

The metal key and key
hole are from Momenta, the pearl bling is Recollections and the heart is from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

All the flowers and
leaves are from I Am Roses. The pearls are by Queen & Company. I used Old Road Chalk Ink from Prima for the edging.

I made a pocket with
the inside matt and tucked in a tag that I used to attach a gift card.

Fun & Games With Miss Empire

I have a layout to
show you that I created for my newest daughter-in-laws birthday. It has a bit of a story to go with it...

When I received my
last order from Bluemoon Scrapbooking and opened the packaging on the Kaisercraft Miss Empire collection of papers, I thought... wow! did I ever make a mistake on this! I had that collection on my wish list for months, and finally purchased it... but only the 12x12 collection pack.

After going through all
the papers, I was glad I hadn't bought everything available as I usually do. After the initial disappointment, I thought since I bought it, I had to use it. I pulled out several sheets to make the layout... I wanted a sort of fall look to it and the colors were just the perfect fit. Once I got started... it happened. I fell in love! Not head over heels... but the slow, steady kind that comes from staying the course. I really began to look at these patterns, and what I saw was amazing. They certainly won me over!

The flowers and leaves
are all from I Am Roses. Some are sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starbursts in Clam Bake Beige, Creme Brulee Cream, Maidenhair Fern Green and Tibetan Poppy Teal. The wooden butterflies are from Prima.

The doily was cut with
Alterations Distressed Doily die. The tissue tape is Idea-ology.

The metal flourishes are
from Momenta and the charm is from Bo Bunny. The teal leaf was given to me.

The Distressed Ink is Frayed Burlap.

The B is Graphic 45's Staples.

Children's Birthday Card

We finished our
week-long anniversary celebration with a trip to Amish country... Holmes County... with a visit to one of our favorite restaurants for their breakfast buffet and then some shopping. It's only about a thirty-five minute drive for us, with some of the best country cooking in the US. A great place for you all to come visit if you ever are passing through Ohio.

In September we have five
birthdays in our family. One is our grandson's, Ruf (aka Kenny), who turned two last week. Here is the card I created for him...

These papers are from
October Afternoon's 5 & Dime collection... their 8x8 pad. I haven't used this in awhile, and in my quest to use up my older collections, I pulled this out because of this cute sheet with the black background and the vintage ads.

Although he's only two
and not really into cards, I thought his mommy... our daughter Sarah... would like it to sit out on display.

The gears are by
Idea-ology, the bolt is by Prima and the little blossoms are by Petaloo.

Anniversary Week

This is our wedding anniversary
week... the Penmaker and I have been off traveling around the state, celebrating our forty-seven years together. As a result, my studio is looking pretty shabby...

It's a terrible mess at
the moment. I'm working on a couple of albums and, as always, a few cards.

Also I decided I the
cover of my notebook wasn't my style. I pulled out some Pink Paislee Hope Chest and gave it a new look with just a sheet of patterned paper, some stamping and gel medium.

 Now that's more like it!

Here is one of the albums
I'm working on along with Laura Denison... only with a larger Prima journal than the Vintage Vanity journal that she's using. It will be awhile until this one is completed, but I have several other things to show you. Please come back to see them.

Timeless Type Masculine Birthday Card

I pulled out my
well-used 8x8 paper pad of DCWV Timeless Type and created a masculine birthday card to send to a missionary who will be celebrating his ninetieth + birthday near the end of the month.

The copper metal pieces
are from Idea-ology, Prima and Momenta. The Tin Pin is from the Farmhouse collection by October Afternoon. The flowers are Petaloo and are teamed with Martha Stewart punched oak leaves. The Distressed Ink I used is Frayed Burlap.

A Birthday Pocket

It seems that these
last three months have literally flown by... where did summer go? For being retired, I've been a very busy lady. I have several projects going at once, including three mini albums. My studio is a shambles!!!

Yesterday was our
son-in-law's birthday. Wanting to make a not so traditional birthday card, I used some of Marion Smith's printables to create this pocket and tags for him.

The metal pieces are
from Idea-ology and Prima Mechanicals. The gem on the gear is a Prima Say It In Crystals. The flowers are all from Petaloo.

The hot air balloon was
fussy cut from her Romance Novel collection by Prima as were the cards and sentiment piece. I used Frayed Burlap Distress Ink on all the edges.

The brads are from My Mind's
Eye. The black and natural burlap strings are by May Arts.

Two tags were put in
the pocket... I wrote a note on one and tucked in a little birthday cash... what every father with four children loves to receive!

A Cottage Chic Birthday Card

My daughter's mother-in-law
has a birthday coming up near the end of the month. She loves the shabby chic style, so I created a card for her using Marion Smith's printable Cottage Chic mini album.

The base is of white
cardstock topped with kraft cardstock and a sheet of music paper from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Be Happy paper pad. The other papers are from the Cottage Chic collection.

The flowers and leaves
are all from I Am Roses. The timepiece and gem are by Prima. The Ornate Plate and the pearl bauble on the tag are from Idea-ology. I use Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

Inspired Accordion Fold Birthday Card

Last week Sarah Bargo
(Thankful Tidings) posted a fabulous shabby birthday card that she had made for her first post as a Design Team member at Marion Smith Designs Blog. It inspired me to create this one...

Sarah used Marion's
printables for her card, but since I am just starting to build my MS stash, I had to go for her Romance Novel collection by Prima. The base of my card is a sheet of "Be Amazing" from My Mind's Eye... it went perfectly with the RN ephemera papers.

The flowers are from Prima and I Am Roses.

The metal pieces on
the black doily are from Recollections and Prima.

Be sure to stop over
at Sarah's blog and take a look at her work. She's one talented lady and is sure to inspire you!
