Baby Shower Card

Hi friends! Just popping in for a second to show you a baby shower card I created to go with my gift for my D-I-L's brother and his wife, who are expecting a baby boy soon. I normally am not real keen on attending showers, but I can honestly say I had a great time. It may have been because three of my granddaughters, my daughter and daughter-in-law were all there. What fun!!!

Mommy-to-be received lots of needed baby items and clothes, the game we played was a scream, and the food superb!!! At one point, we all were to create a baby with Play Dough, and that was hysterical. Oh my... good times!!!

Hope your week is going well. The Penmaker is down for a nap, so it's my chance to create something. I love these quiet times!

Teddy Bear Baby Card

With a $50 gift card in hand, I searched the aisles at Hobby Lobby for card supplies I wouldn't normally purchase. This cute teddy bear button was one of the items I selected, along with four other of his brown buddies.

This baby card was built entirely around him. The papers? Why Echo Park Bundle of Joy, of course! The dies are Sizzix Vintage Doily and Die-Namics Layered Label. Baby is a printed chipboard piece from the collection.

The Penmaker is at an event today, so I'm going to tackle cleaning his bookshelves. Eee gads... this just may be an all day happening. Not only does he have lots of books on history, he saves all types of   memorabilia. So much fun to clean! LOL!!!
Have a happy Saturday, friends!

Bundle of Joy Baby Girl Card

Doing lots of fun things today like tiding up the garage in 90 degree heat, cleaning mini blinds, doing laundry, and perhaps creating a card or two. This is another of the baby cards I did while I had out my Echo Park Bundle of Joy collection. You can always tell what I've pulled out of storage by the number of cards made from the same papers.

Love this sweet baby image digi I bought from an Etsy shop. I used a Spellbinders die to cut the floral frame and the scalloped circle...

I sprinkled in a few tiny pink rhinestones and added some vintage lace from my stash.

Have a wonderful day.

Little Lady Baby Girl Card

There's a huge mess in our front yard that's not going away quickly. Remember the reseeding I was doing in the spring... all for nought!!! We're having a gas line run to the house for the new furnace, and apparently they needed to dig up more than we thought. Landscapers will be here in a couple of weeks so hopefully the yard will look normal again by September.

Today I have a baby girl card to show. Still using my Bundle of Joy by Echo Park, and adding just a couple I Am Roses flowers with a wrinkled seam binding bow. The tag is Alterations Tiny Tabs & Tags tied with ivory burlap string. Lace from my stash.

The die cut is Spellbinders Floral Doily Motifs.

Oh Boy! Baby Card

After running the course on pocket cards, I've now gone back to the traditional 4" x 5 1/2" folded card base. I've been in the mood for baby cards, since we have another baby coming into the family in a few months.

I pulled out my Echo Park Bundle of Joy collection and made several... this one being the boy variety. This collection has several different themes to choose from. As you can see, I picked out the train designed papers... love them... and these pretty soft colors. A perfect match for the newest colors from I Am Roses.

Another holiday weekend upon us here in the USA. I love the July 4th festivities and for what they stand! God Bless America!

Baby Boy Pocket Card

I've been working on Easter projects... filling plastic eggs with candy and, in between, making cards. With our Ohio weather getting warmer, I really should be outside working. Our son, Seth (The Director) was in Boulder, CO, doing a TV program over the weekend, and when he left on his return flight Monday, a storm came in dumping almost a foot of snow. We sure were glad he got out of there when he did.

I have another baby card to show you today. I don't know why, but I seem to get stuck on themes. I try to stagger them so I don't post the same thing over and over. Thankfully, I create something nearly  everyday and have lots of projects in reserve.

I have only one baby collection, which is my old standby Echo Park Bundle of Joy... love this!!!

I cut the leaves using Spellbinders Foliage and mixed them in with these I Am Roses flowers in varying shades of yellow, mustard and lime. I adore these cute chipboard pieces... the hanging baby clothes, the snail and It's A Boy!

Now back to my thoughts on outside jobs... I really think I'll head out to the garage and see if the hedge cutter will work after a long winter's rest.

Thank you for stopping by... and have a wonderful day!

It's A Girl Pocket Card

It's Monday... almost as good as Friday, right?
The Penmaker and I are off to a big start for the week. We've already gone to Amish country for breakfast, made a stop at some stores, and got our hair cut... and it's only 10:15. Another large special order of pens just came in, so we have quite a busy day going.

My baby girl card is created from the Echo Park Bundle of Joy collection, along with white cardstock, I Am Roses flowers and leaves,  pearl trim from Pat Catans and a pink wide eyelet from We R Memory Keepers. I used Spellbinders Oval Floral, Classic Ovals, and Scalloped Ovals dies.
Have a happy day, my friends!

Little Man Pocket Card for The New Baby

There's nothing to equal the excitement of the birth of a new baby.
We have a new one at church... a boy! Oh my, does seeing him bring back memories of my own two sons coming into the world. I have to say, they were... and still are a tremendous blessing.

I created this card for the new little one using Tim Holtz's Vintage Shabby paper stash (now retired) for the base and tag. It's teamed up with the Echo Park collection Bundle of Joy. Such a darling collection in both boy and girl sets. I have both on hand since you don't always know ahead of time what you'll need.

I looks like a beautifully warm week ahead of us here in Ohio, and if my sinuses don't get out of control, I hope to be out and about. I'm sure I'll squeeze in some time for creating a couple of cards, though!

Sweet Baby Pocket Card

Wow... I am so loving this Bundle of Joy collection... so much I ordered more. A Cherry on Top still has most of the papers, pads and chipboard, so I purchased a few to fill in the holes in my stash.

These beautiful teal die cuts came in one of my Pixie Dust kits from Kristy several years back. I have two packages of them I've been hoarding. It may be American Crafts lace paper... Delightful Robin? The color coordinates beautifully with these papers and theme. It came as a 12x12 sheet, and can be cut apart into separate die cuts, as I did with them... inking and layering.

More of my hoarded teal lace paper, here layered and topped with a half pearl. The flowers and leaves are from I Am Roses.

I Am Roses tiny white rose buds and May Arts burlap string.

Echo Park chipboard stickers... lamb and teeny button.

Sweet Baby layered Echo Park chipboard.

I used Spellbnder's Classic Ovals and Scalloped Ovals and Die-namics Layered Label. The ink is Frayed Burlap Distress.

Bundle of Joy Baby Pocket Card

Going through my stash this week, I came across an Archivers' bag. (Wow... memories of my favorite scrapbooking store came to mind, and how I miss that place!) Inside that lovely frosted plastic bag with the all too familiar green, yellow and blue logo, I found three 12x12 sheets, a 6x6 pad, a unopened package of 3-D chipboard stickers and a small packet of scraps. I remembered buying this Echo Park Bundle of Joy collection to make a layout for our, then new grandbaby, Adelaide. But why on earth did I buy so much? I guess so that I could make some cards with the remainder almost two years later... because that's what I'm doing with it.

Good timing in that I had just received a shipment of soft pink assorted flowers from I Am Roses. Perfect when added to a white rose and two skeleton leaves.

I pulled out three different dies for these three layers: Alterations Distress Doily, Sizzix Vintage Doily and Spellbinders Labels Seventeen.

S-10's in soft pink from I Am Roses...

and a banner and a tiny double heart from that package of Bundle of Joy layered chipboard.

I added a wide eyelet and a scrap of dyed seam binding to my tag. I trimmed it up with some white felt ric rac... very babyish, I think, with a kind of plush blanket effect.

I'm entering my Bundle of Joy pocket card in the Word Art Wednesday challenge.
I hope my little Sweetheart banner qualifies as a sentiment!
