This is Kaisercraft's Hope Chest, which you would think is geared more toward us ladies. Actually, a number of the patterns are perfect for masculine projects, which is one of the reasons I love this collection. I've made several cards and layouts for my sons, SIL and grandsons using these papers.
I teamed HC up with some die cuts from Tim Holtz Expedition Ephemera Pack and Industrious Stickers trims.
Also adhered on a number of assorted bolts and gears (Prima, Idea-ology) with Liquitex heavy gesso. I dabbed on a bit of Lindy's Maidenhair Fern Green Starburst and Expresso Color Wash which gave it a kind of dirty motor oil look... perfect for a man, right?
The Alterations Birds in Flight are shadowed with a double cut in dark brown card stock. They're popped up with 3-D foam adhesive. Everything is edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
My one lone flower is a Petaloo Botanica. I just had to put one on somewhere... and hey, it's brown!
There is tons of excitement around here. Our son has a movie that he directed coming out in a couple of weeks and it's all very surreal. We attended a speaking engagement he had last night, and it was rather funny to see him sign an autograph. Will tell you more as it gets closer to release time.
Thank you for stopping by!
Linda

Congrats to your son! How EXCITING!!!!
You are right, that Hope Chest collection is great for a guy project. This is fabulous, Linda! Loving the layers and all the guy elements like the gears and ledger papers and the car and map. Love how you layered the bird die cuts with the brown paper, too. Really makes them pop so they don't get lost in the background. Really clever and beautiful, and hey, I think that brown flower works for a masculine look! :)
And huge congrats to your son! What an exciting time for you all!
