A Fall Wall Hanging

I haven't bought any new home decor to hang for the fall season, so I decided to make a piece myself. I have so many beautiful papers and flowers right now, why spend more money on something made by someone else?

I started with a 6" x 6" piece of black chipboard and cut one side with Alterations Brackets die. I then covered it with a piece of Glitz paper in my scrap box. I was really getting into this project, and decided to use up some old stash. Searching through my chipboard box, I found a package of Tim Holtz Weathered Clocks I bought ages ago from an Etsy shop. I gave one a few coats of Tarnished Brass Distress Stain. I loved it. Now, I've got to remember I have all these.

I added more layers of Tim Coffey K & Company papers along with a border strip and a post card from Graphic 45's A Place in Time November. Now I put on some of my ecru cotton crocheted lace.

I fussy cut a bunch of leaves from one of the sheets of Tim Coffey's paper pad, shaped them and sponged on some Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I added Petaloo Botanicas and two Recollections leaves that were laying on my desk.

Again using my Tim Holtz scissors, I fussy cut this leaf from Tim Coffey paper and layered it with a piece of Canvas Corp kraft Flute cut with Alterations Mini Tickets die set. I put those two layers onto of a scrap of G 45 that I had cut with We R Memory Keepers Stub corner punch. I glued a wood Tennessee key onto that stack.

From my box of dyed seam binding, I choose a beautiful cranberry color I had recently bought from Prairie Bird Boutique. I punched holes on the top corners and threaded the seam binding through and tied it to the chipboard. I made a double bow and glued that onto the right side.

I tied on another piece to the tag I had made with the plaid TC paper.

Back into my stash, I found some Tim Holtz alphas. I dabbed on a bit of the TB Distress Stain to dull the finish and give a more cohesive look.

Yipee, I'm done and loving' it. Plus a have a new piece of fall decor to hang and the bonus of saying "I made this!"

I really appreciate you stopping by!
Linda
