Romantic Happy Day Pocket Card

Using the lovely Bo Bunny Juliet collection, I created a card chock full of romantic icons... roses, lace, hearts... you name it, this card has it! LOL

The patterns are definitely bold, so I chose pink flowers to soften it up, along with the ecru lace (from Joanns) and seam binding ribbon.

This mini tag with the faux wax seal is from the 3-D sticker pack from the collection. I added the Happy Day (Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers), seam binding bow, and S-10 I Am Roses soft pink blossom. The heart twig wreath is by Darice.

All my pink flowers and the leaves are from I Am Roses. This large rosebud is a new one to my stash, and regret not buying more of these. They're gorgeous!

The card back was fussy cut and topped with a clear rhinestone to match the one on the 3-D sticker.

Here is a brief report on our back yard garden redo... it still NOT complete! Good night, I may have it done by the end of summer.  That's meant to be funny, but I wonder... it may be true! It is looking awfully pretty though. Adelaide and Sarah did some fairy garden accents over the weekend that I love. I'll have to post photos as soon as I can out there to take some.
Have a great day!

A Lacy, Romantic 50th Anniversary Pocket Card Plus a Fabulous Abalone Pen

Here is another 50th anniversary card I created with, in my opinion, a very romanic look. I piled on lots of lacy elements, pearls, velvet, and a heart charm.

I made the frame with gold metallic paper from Hobby Lobby and my Spellbinders Oval Floral die. The anniversary sentiment was cut with Alterations Celebrate.

The flowers and leaves are Petaloo Botanica and Chantilly Velvet Hydrangeas.

The mini cameo is by The Girls Paperie from my stash of old Pixie Dust kits.

The Penmaker's masterpiece is the outcome of our trip to the Mid-Atlantic Pen Turner's Gathering in Richmond last weekend.

The blanks he used are of embedded abalone...

and the components are a transformable roller ball to fountain pen.

He sold it before I was able to get it listed in our shop. It's an amazing piece of work!

A Home Sweet Home Birthday Card

I'm back today with a happy birthday pocket card with a bakery twist to it. This again is that Carta Bella Home Sweet Home collection that I've been using so much. I love the versatility of these patterns, especially the B sides. They have that old vintage look reminiscent of the October Afternoon collections that I can't seem to find anymore.

For my flowers, I went with I Am Roses. Along with this big white rose and tiny red rosebuds, I added two of their newer #S15s... yummy. I placed a small order for these awhile back, but I can see now, I'll need more of these beauties.

I stamped my happy birthday tag with coffee Archival ink to match the chocolate icing on the cake (I'm getting hungry).

I tied my tag with a bit of the ivory burlap string by May Arts. I use a ton on this stuff and purchase it by the full spool... the only way to go to save money on some of these supplies.

The die cuts are from the HSH ephemera pack....

and popped up with adhesive foam dots.

I put two IAR #S10 blossoms at the top and My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose cotton trim down the side.

We have a big weekend coming up. Hope you have a special one planned, too!

50th Anniversary Pocket Card & Some Vacation Memories

Hi friends! As promised, I'm back from our respite in the south. Thankfully, the Penturner's Gathering came when it did for we really needed some time away to recoup. We headed down to Virginia last week, then took in the Mid-Atlantic Penturner's Gathering on the weekend. This years was fantastic and The Penmaker and I even won some great door prizes. That alone was worth the trip. From there we went across North Carolina to Gatlinburg, TN. While we usually rent a cabin or condo, for something different (and due to the suddenness of the trip) we stayed at an inn we have enjoyed in the past (lots of good memories on this journey). I had a wonderful time at Your Scrapbook Superstore in Pigeon Forge and for a treat, we saw Captain America: Civil War in the new theatre (reclining seats).

Now back to business... a 50th anniversary card made with papers from the Kaisercraft Provincial collection.

I use a bunch of dies on this card... from Spellbinders - Classic Circles, Scalloped Circles,
Alterations - Mini Hearts, Vintage Market Alphabet,  Ornate Frame #2.
I bought the gold paper at Hobby Lobby and the small scalloped circle was cut from a gold metallic burlap tag my DIL gave me for Mother's Day.

The flowers and leaves are by Petaloo,

the lace trim came from Pat Catans,

and the gold metal butterfly is from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

Sad Days

I'm sorry to have been MIA for a few days. I'm dropping in today with a brief explanation and a sneak peek of what I'm working on.
First of all, we have had three deaths of family members and friends in the past week and a half. It's a bit overwhelming, so I will probably take a little time off from blogging... not a long absence just a little rest. The Penmaker and I will be going to the Mid-Atlantic Penturners Gathering in Richmond, so we will extend that outing and do some vacationing... maybe even a side-trip to Gatlinburg. Who knows! It's possible.
Second, my sneak peek is part of a special order I'm creating which is a series of anniversary cards. I've also done some cards for a conference and some sympathy cards that I'll post when I return.
In the meanwhile, have a wonderful weekend, and...

All Aboard at the Station Masculine Pocket Card

I'm sorry to be so hit and miss lately on my blog. I'm sure that most of you are dealing with the same issues as we are... getting the yard and gardens in shape. This year I have determined to trim down the size of our shade garden and the border around our back patio. The older I get, the more I realize I don't want to spend all summer bent over, pulling up weeds. Even though I laid down weed barrier and applied Preen every year, I seem to have a lot of extra work in the flower beds. So we're downsizing and adding edger blocks to the entire thing. I hope this will remedy part of the problem At least I shouldn't have to do any edging.

Lowe's edgers... bought a ton of these things!

I created my All Aboard card a couple of weeks ago (honestly, haven't made much since we started this garden redo.) The papers are from the Carta Bella Home Sweet Home collection which, as I've said before, works great for masculine cards. The 3-D stickers are by Reminisce (bought at Forevermore Scrapbooks in Gettysburg.)

The Tim Holtz rub-ons, game spinner, brad, mini paper clip, and gear are all Idea-ology, as well as the ephemera. The wood flag is from my favorite little shop in Tennessee. The brown tea-stained blossom is by Petaloo.

The filigree corner and burlap string came from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Monday!
