Love Story Valentine Card & My Final Sneak Peek

After a week of stomach flu, I think I'm finally pretty much back to normal. Yesterday I got a burst of energy and made three cards of various types... but this one is pre-flu.

I ordered a few sheets of paper to "fill in the gaps" in my Valentine selection. These are from Kaisercraft's P. S. I Love You. Very muted colors... just a beautiful collection. And they seemed to blend nicely with my older stock.

Along with my I Am Roses flowers, I just had to add in some glitter paper in the form of a berry spray I cut with Alterations Thinlits Garden Greens. I tucked in a bit of vintage pink lace, too.

The darling little boy and girl couple image is a digi. My hearts were cut with Spellbinders Classic Hearts die set. The doily with Alterations Distressed Doily.

This last sneak peek from the new product collections shown at Creativation this year, is the Idea-ology Tag Press Tool. I have been wanting a tool to create metal rimmed tags "foreva"! Finally, it's here. Well, at least it will be as soon as the stores get them!!!

Isn't this just about the coolest thing you've ever seen? It's on the top of my want list. I can envision all types of neat looking tags made with this. I hope it will live up to my enormous expectations. Only time will tell!

Love You Valentine Card, Pens, & Sneak Peeks

Bad times come to us all, and mine came in the form of stomach flu. Ugh! In fact, most of our family seem to have it, including some of the grandchildren. Is anything worse than that?
I'm going to try to get this post up, but it will probably be mostly photos. Here goes.

I created this Valentine card before falling victim. I nearly used up what was left of a 6x6 My Mind's Eye paper pad on this, a digi image, I Am Roses and Recollections flowers, lace from my stash.

Two more beautiful pens, from The Penmakers workshop.

A Civil War pen with red, white a blue designer acrylic...

And a Motorcycle pen in the same colors.

Now sneak Peeks from Idea-ology...

What a great lineup of product. Do you agree?

In Memory of Cassidy & Today Is The Day Valentine Card

Our family pet and buddy of more years than I thought possible died this past weekend. Cassidy was a rescue dog. When our daughter worked as a vet tech in Atlanta, a dog was bought in after being hit by a vehicle. The doctor had to put several pins in her shoulder to hold the bones together, but she survived. Sarah took her in and adopted her as her own. When she moved back here to Ohio, Cassidy came along. After Sarah married and began her family, they moved further north and Cassidy came to live with us. The fenced in yard was great for her and after Adelaide was born, the two became fast friends. Near as we can figure, she was sixteen to seventeen years old. She was frisky until the end when the seizures hit.
These last couple days have been hard ones. The Lord gave us such a good companion over the years... she is most definitely missed.

My valentine today is a pocket card. I haven't made any for awhile, and felt like changing things up a bit. It's a mix of Echo Park, Graphic 45 and some odd scraps.

The 3-D sticker is from the My Mind's Eye Record-It Heirloom collection. The flowers are by I Am Roses.

The image is a digi from an Etsy shop as is the red and white ruffled trim. The grosgrain ribbon came from our local scrapbook store when they had their close-out sale several years ago. (Are there any local independent stores left?) The cupid die cuts were a gift from Linda at The Funkie Junkie Boutique

More sneak peeks coming next post!

Thanks for stopping by, friends!

To My Dear One Vintage Valentine Card & Sneak Peeks

The first year we stayed at the condo in Harrisonburg, Virginia, we took a side jaunt into Richmond to visit the Museum of the Confederacy. Back in the day when I had my Civil War book business, we would work in the Richmond area several times a year, so we were quite familiar with all the wonders to behold there. I was anxious to revisit this particular museum as I remembered some of the fascinating artifacts they had on display. As I wandered though the rooms, always behind the Penmaker's pace, I came across a Civil War era Valentine. I included it my post back in 2012 here, after our return home. It was a beauty, and I was amazed that it was handmade with papers not unlike what we are still creating.

Today my valentine card is a combination of old and new. Not as old as that Civil War one, but still vintage. It pops up to form a 3-D card and has that old-time romantic look about it.

I love the smudges and stains.

I added my old valentine onto a new card base and gave it some modern embellishments.
I adore this card!
It truly takes me back to another time and some great memories.

Now, Idea-ology Sneak Peeks...

Aren't these items fabulous? I can hardly wait until they start shipping them out.

With All My Heart Valentine Card & Sneak Peeks from Alterations

If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever. -
Alfred Lord Tennyson

I am a true romantic. There's something in my soul that makes me want to say "I love you" over and over to my sweetheart grandchildren, kids, and and my husband. What sheer joy to hand them a Valentine card that says it in writing! A written expression of my love for them!

I'm having a ball making Valentine cards this year. What is it about this year? Maybe the fact that I'm older and want to express my love even more. I'm not sure. I'm really enjoying the whole process, though, and I love sharing them with you.

This 4" x 5.5" ivory based card is made mostly with scraps of leftover papers of various collections... some Cosmo Cricket, Echo Park, My Mind's Eye, and one text pattern I'm not sure about. I think the ribbon came in an old Cupcards To Go kit. The with all my heart 3-D sticker and red glittered Love ephemera piece are MME Record It Heirloom. The two-tone rose is from I Am Roses. The lace is from my stash. I cut the hearts with Spellbinders Classic Hearts die set.

Now, how about some sneak peeks!

Sizzix Alterations
