Lovely Ladies Cards

Hello! I hope you're doing well!
I have two cards for you to check out. Both A2 top folding... both with Tim Holtz Paper Dolls for the focal point, but with two different looks.
My first card has a vintage fashion theme. I used the Glitz 6" Pretty in Pink paper pad. The sentiment, stamped on vellum, is from the Altenew Thinking of You set.

My second card, along with the TH Paper Doll, has an ephemera piece from the Botanical Layers collection. The gold embossed sentiment is a stamp from Scrappy Cats Birthday set. For the oval layers I used Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals and Alterations Stitched Ovals. The papers are from Kaisercraft's 6.5" Vintage Timeless pad plus glitter paper from Hobby Lobby.

Vintage Friendship Card

As I said on my last post, I love the artistry of the old October Afternoon collections. Having pulled out what is left of my OA stash for my last card, this printed chipboard piece caught my eye and I determined to use it as a focal point for my next. The pretty lady in the hat is from their Farmhouse Attic Trunk sheet. The other papers are vintage Cosmo Cricket Odds and Ends Remnant. The leaves were cut from a scrap.

Vintage lace from my stash.

I Am Roses mulberry flowers from my recent buy. LOVE this color!!!

I got the frame from Michaels Dollar Bin. It was an odd sort of pearly silver color. I brushed on a coat of Titanium white acrylic paint and when dry added some Distress Rock Candy Crackle. The pearliness still shows through which was okay. I was happy with the look.

I heat embossed the leaves with Ranger UTEE for that high gloss finish and extra strength.

It's a pretty gloomy day here with rain on the horizon. It would be great if we would get a good downpour, but for the last two months the precipitation seems to skirt around us. We had the odd shower, but nothing to really soak into our bone dry ground. Maybe today!!!
Take care, friends!

Friendship Card with Authentique Homestead

When I saw Authentique's Homestead collection online, I freaked out thinking "I've GOT to have this!" Then I happened upon it in Pat Catan's and realized that I have a lot of similar colors and patterns like them already except for the sheet Enhancements. This was true love!

Totally true love!!!
I love these cut apart images, and to top it off, in the upper right corner is a quote by Laura Ingalls Wilder, whom I adore.

The quote is also on the image here that I used... "It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all."

I put this together with some of the scraps on my desk and a K & Company 3-D sticker that is vintage. It went perfect with the colors of the image.

The chipboard leaves are by Bo Bunny, flowers and green leaves are from I Am Roses, lace and a button from my stash, natural burlap string by May Arts.

We're expecting a visit from my sister and my 95 year old Mom any moment now, so I'll run.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Big Smile Pocket Card

This is another of my combo cards where I pull out a collection and end up adding bits and pieces from what I like of others to complete the look. The main papers are from Prima's Engraver, as is the brad. The tag was a free printout they gave away a couple of years ago on the Prima Facebook page.

The small tag and vintage look image are by Graphic 45. The scrap of lace is from Surplus City in MD. I put on some new flowers I just got from I Am Roses along with a Petaloo Botanica. The twine is ivory May Arts burlap string.

The printed chipboard tab is Prima... "friends" is a Tim Holtz Chit Chat sticker... the hummingbird is from my favorite wood store in Tennessee.

Have a wonderful day, friends. I'm working on Fall cards today and possibly a wall hanging or two. It's extremely muggy outside, so it's indoors all day for me. I know when I'm well off.

Friendship Card

Happy Friday, friends! It's hot and humid here, and extremely dry. Our lawn is now just a patch of brown, dead grass with some sprigs of clover here and there. I can't ever remember a rainless summer  like this one. On the plus side... we also haven't any mosquitoes or many weeds.

I created todays card using my scraps, a base of BoBunny vintage double dots, vintage lace, and the addition of some lovely flowers from I Am Roses.

My pretty butterfly is from Lindy's Stamp Gang, and the border scallops were cut with Alterations Thinlits Stitched Ovals.

Have a wonderful weekend... stay cool!

More Than Words Card

Hi, everyone! I, seriously, have been trying to write this post for three days. What is it about summer that makes everything speed up to an unbelievable pace? The grandchildren all seem to be in hyper mode, while I'm somewhere in slow motion (at least it feels that way). We celebrated The Penmaker's birthday with the whole family in attendance except for SIL, JD, who had to work. In between that big event, we had three library screenings to attend and that ballgame that our son was to throw out the first pitch (which ended up being rained out and now switched to August). I feel the need for a vacation. LOL!

I haven't slowed down on the card making though. I did this one with Bo Bunny Juliet and some bits of fussy cut papers from my scrap pile on my desk.

My yellow flowers are from I Am Roses.

For something different, I added a Tim Holtz swivel clasp and a pretty antique bronze heart charm from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Stand By Me Card

Awhile back I wanted to try making a card with the less is more theory. I think my cards are more noted for having layer upon layer of stuff, but for this one I felt the wood pattern paper needed to stand out.

The few layers I did add are mostly scrap pieces... those beauties you just can't bear to throw away that will work on something at sometime. (You all know what I mean.)

The little bit of lace was another treasure on the pile on my desk awaiting a home in my art  journal or on a card. The Noted is a wood icon from Prima.

My Stand By Me sticker is from the Bo Bunny Juliet collection, as are some of these other papers.

The ticket is a Tim Holtz ephemera piece, the wood clip is by Darice...

and the tiny stained heart is from my favorite wood shop in the Smoky Mountains.

Even with cutting down on layers, I just have to add flowers... these being an assortment of Prima and I Am Roses.

Style Pocket Card

On this overcast Sunday, I have a pocket card from several days back I missed posting. It's made from the very beautiful Belle Vie collection pack by talented Julie Nutting for Photo Play. I have a killer sinus headache, so I'm just going to let you check out all the layers and flowers while I keep quiet.

Enjoy the day!

The Sweetness of Friendship Pocket Card

Here's a card I created for my daughter. She wanted something special to give to her pastor's wife. I had one K & Company 3-D sticker left, so I built the card around it. This My Mind's Eye pattern seemed to fit the bill perfectly for the base. Some scraps on my desk worked for the tag and die cuts. I loved the mix. Can you tell I'm totally smitten with teal? It's my very favorite color at the present time. It works so beautifully with a neutral color like this beige or a gray.

I used my Alterations Distressed Doily again and Courtyard.

Two Petaloo Botanics blooms, I Am Roses yellow rose buds and bronze metal leaf from The Funkie Junkie Boutique. These leaves are sturdy, but I was able to shape it a bit with my needle nose pliers.

A Prima Pebble with a scrap of the MME paper.

I few I Am Roses leaves mixed in to fill in the gaps.

A bronze eyelet and yellow seam binding bow complete my tag. I used Walnut Stain Distress ink on all the paper edges.
