Orange & Black Mini Book And The Kraft Journal Giveaway

The Penmaker and I have noticed
that the leaves aren't all changing at one time this year. Part have turned and falling in the wind and part are still as green as in summer. A strange autumn in our neck of the woods. All the more reason to make lots of bright, cheery fall projects! That's what I tried to do with this mini book that I made for Challenge #21 at Shopping Our Stash... "Spooky or Orange/Black".

Ever since I watched Tim Holtz
video of him making a mini valentine book, I have been smitten with these cute, tiny treasures. "So why not do one for this challenge", said I, and I did!

All you need is one 12 x 12 sheet
of DP... mine is My Mind's Eye Mischevious "Pumpkin Stripe". I finish mine a bit different than Tim does. After making several, I've found that if I adhere the pages with my tape runner and use a scrap of cardstock for a binder, it holds together much better than with just the tissue tape.

These are fun to embellish as
you don't need a lot on a page. Less is more in this case... if you keep it simple it's much easier to close.

Of the seven pages, three are pockets.
They are the perfect size for tea bags, gift cards, small photos or journaling tags.

Give this project a try the next time
you need a small gift item, and be sure to join this fun challenge at SOS

The Kraft Journal is having a fantastic
giveaway sponsored by the Kraft Outlet , the shop with all those terrific kraft papers and other great goodies for your creativity. Be sure to hop over there and check out the details. You can win a $20.00 Gift Voucher from Kraft Outlet... yeeee haaaaa! Now, who doesn't want that prize!
Thank you for the visit... so nice you dropped in!

Katie's Day

On Monday we celebrated my granddaughter's
birthday and I wanted to share a little something I repurposed for her.

Remember the mini book I made for the CCCB
You're #1 challenge... well I finished it for my first grandchild.

American Crafts Thickers in white and a butterfly
charm from Lindy's Stamp Gang decorate this page.

A little cash tucked in the side pocket...

Teresa Collins Cameo DP...

a photo on a tab in this side pocket...

Grandpa Penmaker and Grandma...

more photos...

more cash...

and the birthday girl with her gift.

She also received a packet of supplies that I
put into this pocket made from two 12 x 12 sheets of Tim Holtz paper I sewed together.

Hopefully she'll create lots of cards and scrapbook
pages with this paper and embellishments. What a blessing to make something for my granddaughter!
Thank you, Lord!

And Happy Birthday dear Katie... Happy Birthday to you!

I'm linking this with Gifting With Angi Barrs, who
is a guest blogger at Yvonne Yam's Do More With Less. Hop over and check out the fun!

Tim Holtz's Mini Book Made With Springtime Pixie Kit

Watched Tim Holtz post today on his Valentine Mini Book, then learned I had a very ill granddaughter. Quickly made up this little book for her again using my new Springtime Pixie Kit... paper and button.

Tucked in three kinds of tea for her to try.

Clipped on a small pad of sticky notes for her to doodle.

Please pray for my little sweetheart to get over this.
And if you would like to try making a little book of your own, here are Tim's instructions.
