The Penmaker and I have noticed
that the leaves aren't all changing at one time this year. Part have turned and falling in the wind and part are still as green as in summer. A strange autumn in our neck of the woods. All the more reason to make lots of bright, cheery fall projects! That's what I tried to do with this mini book that I made for Challenge #21 at Shopping Our Stash... "Spooky or Orange/Black".
Ever since I watched Tim Holtz
video of him making a mini valentine book, I have been smitten with these cute, tiny treasures. "So why not do one for this challenge", said I, and I did!
All you need is one 12 x 12 sheet
of DP... mine is My Mind's Eye Mischevious "Pumpkin Stripe". I finish mine a bit different than Tim does. After making several, I've found that if I adhere the pages with my tape runner and use a scrap of cardstock for a binder, it holds together much better than with just the tissue tape.
These are fun to embellish as
you don't need a lot on a page. Less is more in this case... if you keep it simple it's much easier to close.
Of the seven pages, three are pockets.
They are the perfect size for tea bags, gift cards, small photos or journaling tags.
Give this project a try the next time
you need a small gift item, and be sure to join this fun challenge at SOS.

How adorable, Linda! And such a fun idea. Love that you can craft this from one sheet of 12x12. And love the paper you chose. The cover is stunning. And love the simple and sweet details on the inside. :) I know what you mean about the tissue tape....love it, but it doesn't bind the minis very well. I've learned to put liquid glue on the tape first. It dries clear, and makes it strong enough to stay. :)
Thanks for helping to spread the word about the Kraft Journal. It is, truly, such a fabulous place.
Ohhhhhh...simply gorgeous!!
Gorgeous book ... I have made these with my group ... they love them!
What a fabulous mini book, love the idea that you can put little gifts in. Have a great weekend.xxxx
Such a darling kraft journal you have made. The leaves are doing the same here in IA. It is weird seeing trees that have already lost all leaves and others who are still green. :)
Oh, Linda, this is so pretty! Love the idea of the tea bags!
What a great journal you created...fabuous details. I love how the pop of black really sets it off. Thanks for joining us at Shopping Our Stash!
