On The Move and Forevermore Scrapbooks

Our time was up this morning, and we had to check-out
of  the condo. What a great time we had there, but life is a journey and we need to keep on going... so on to Gettysburg...

We found Forevermore Scrapbooks on-line and decided
to check it out while we were in town. Little did we know there was a war going on right in front of the store. The Penmaker snapped pictures while I shopped... and shopped... and shopped. There was room after room of papers and embellishments... three floors full. Ahhh... a paper heaven! Tons of cardstock and patterned paper... including Civil War, military, USA and Amish patterns, but soooo much more. You have to stop in if you're in the Gettsburg area! Don't miss it!

Virginia Michaels Haul

Don't you love shopping in your favorite stores in another town?
For some reason I always seen to find bargains, probably because the store is set up differently and I look more carefully. The Michaels here is smaller than the one I normally shop, but WOW... what I found!
Recollections on clearance... Oh Happy Day!

Masculine Get Well Cards

I've been trying to replenish my stash of get well type
cards for men that can be sent in the mail. Sorry to say, I've already had to use two of them. I have for the most part used my Country Farm Stand Kit and am loving working with the beautiful papers and embellishments that came in the April kit.
Tomorrow the Penmaker and I are heading for
the mountains for some hiking. Will check back in with some photos... hopefully!
Hope you all have a blessed Easter!

Pixie Dust Paperie April Challenge

The April Challenge at
Pixie Dust Paperie is to create a project (layout, card or altered item) that has a tag or tags on it.

came with ten size 5 manila tags, so I at least had a start. I decided to use papers from the Springtime Pixie and chose the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime - Woodland Fantasy and Primrose Cottage. Vanilla cardstock, Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue- Foo on Film and October Afternoon Campfire - Animal Track finished out my selections.

Did a lot of layering, distressing and
inking with Ranger's Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. Painted and crackled one of the Maya Road Chipboard Frames.

Added Pixie seam binding ribbon, Girls Paperie Tinsel
and Twig Collection Vintage Button and Webster's Pages Yellow and Dusty Blue Lace Trims.

Prima and Recollections flowers and stick pins...

a Tim Holtz Memo Pin , a Bauble (both from the Floribunda Kit)
and a Word Stick complete my entry.
Please let me know what you think.
Have a Happy Day!

Gate Cards at City Crafter Challenge Blog

Week #53 at City Crafter Challenge Blog is to make
a gate card. I'm fairly new at card making, so I was thankful to see the link to a tutorial on "How to make a Gate Card" right there with the challenge (thank you CCCB).
So...
Here is my first ever Gate Card!

My immediate reaction was to reach for a Pixie Kit.
I chose papers from two kits and started in on the cutting and scoring. I am a slow worker, so this process took me forever.

Did some Distress inking with Ranger's Brushed Corduroy.
Sprayed all the flowers with my new Patina Glimmer Mist including this fabric rose from Frog Feathers.

Scattered around a few half pearls and stick pins.

Added more roses and leaves.

Great fun, ladies... be sure to try this challenge!

The Master's Pens

I haven't posted any of the Penmaker's work for awhile.
He has made some real beauties, but my old camera just doesn't do them justice. Definitely need a new one... sometime. (It's on the list after Tim Holtz Dies)
Also in these photos are a couple of my 1800's ink bottles. I
had a collection of them at the time I had my Civil War book business. I kept about a dozen of the best ones. The colors are magnificent and they are all a different shape. Love the old stuff!

Wedding Shower Card

This paper is from the new Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection
6 x 6 Paper Pack. I am soooooo in love with this. The colors are soft and feminine and delicate... just perfect for a wedding shower card.

I did lots of layering and inking. Used my new Spellbinders
Fancy Tags Two, added Twinklet's Diamond Dust and half pearls.

Scattered around some of the teeny butterflies from one
of my Pixie Dust Paperie Kits. The bride-to-be seemed pleased with my offering... a worth while effort!

Happy Birthday City Crafter Challenge Blog

In celebration of their first birthday,
City Crafter Challenge Blog is giving away six great prizes! Be sure to get in on the Blog Hop as each Design Team Member and their Special Guest are giving away a $10 gift certificate for Pixie Dust Paperie. Just leave a comment at each blog for a chance to win. Start at CCCB.

Week #52 Challenge is to case this beautiful
birthday card created by their Special Guest Designer Sylvia Nelson. You can pick up the colors, the shape, the embellishment or anything you can pick up from Sylvia's card... but remember it has to be a birthday card.

Here is mine... rather pale in comparison with Sylvia's
beauty.

I did a lot of different textures and layers.

I really need to invest in a butterfly punch. I have Pixie Dust
Paperie Kits to thank for these little blue ones. Pixie Kirsty had added a package of assorted sizes and colors in each of the kits I have bought.

Etsy purchased roses...

and my Happy Birthday cake for CCCB!
Have a Happy Day!

A Sewing Room Card

I'm still in awe of the Alterations
Sewing Room Die. How does Tim Holtz create such marvelous tools?

Of all the Sizzix Dies that I have, The Sewing Room
has given me more fun in creating... ummm... next to Tattered Florals. Oh well, what can I say... I love Tim Holtz stuff. His products are amazing!

I once again relied on the Pixie Dust Paperie Kits
for the basis of this card. American Crafts Leaf Green Cardstock and October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker - Needle and Thread DP for the background with a bit of machine stitching. Echo Park's Everybody Loves Christmas - Borders for the skirt and scraps for the belt and top. I threaded some beads to make the necklace and glued on a Recollections mini rose.

A couple more scraps for the back of this great
little comic strip piece. I wish I could remember the name of this pink floral paper... only have tiny bits left and would love to have more. Used my Holtz Paper Distresser on these and inked with Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The Martha Stewart punched paper is by 7gypsies called Fernwood.
Maya Road Leaf  Trinket Pins, a Recollections mini rose and other Etsy purchased roses finish up the corner.
I'll let you know if I grow tired of using this die... never!
Have a Happy Day!

The Ghost of Christmas Present

The new challenge at Jingle Belles comes from
Clare at Miscanthus Crafts. She has given us this recipe of things to include in our cards...
1. as white as a ghost
2. a present
3. a bow or knot
4. a touch of traditional Christmas colors
and here is my take...

The cardstock is American Crafts Forest. A scrap of white cardstock was
used for the frame that I cut with a Sizzix Die, than ran it through a Provo Craft Textile Texture Embossing Folder. Another scrap I edged with a Martha Stewart punch and the tag was made with a Nestabilities Label Seventeen and inked with Ranger's Brushed Corduroy. A bow of Pixie's Cotton Bale Seam Binding Ribbon with a vintage button.
Have a Happy Day!
