A Successful Mid-Atlantic Penturners Gathering, A Huge Haul And Sad Goodbyes

The Penturner and I
are back from our stay at the Massanutten Resort condo we have been privileged to use for the last few years by the generosity of some dear friends. What made it extra special this year, was the fact that the Mid-Atlantic Penturners Gathering at Woodcraft was that same week. We were able to take the short drive down to Richmond and get in on the sessions and fellowship with my husband's penturner buddies.

I sat up a small display of
a few of my pen layouts and pocket cards. I had some very nice comments and was much encouraged by them. The pocket cards are just perfect for inserting a pen for gift giving.

On our way, we made
a "slight" detour to stop at Scrapdoodles in Fredericksburg. I was devastated when earlier in the year I heard that they would be going out of business. I had no idea at the time that I would be able to get back there before they closed. You can imagine how happy I was when the Penmaker said we would swing by that way and run in for one last shopping spree. Oh wow, did we shop. He kept encouraging me to buy and I obeyed. Everything that week was at half price. I picked up several Tim Holtz stamps sets, Pink Pasilee Hope Chest papers, Idea-ology cabinet card frames, Claudine Hellmuth black gesso, Golden light molding paste, alpha stickers and on and on. I just hated walking out of there for the last time, but I must say the bags full of supplies made the bitter pill easier to swallow.
After leaving Fredericksburg,
we decided to run over to Hanover Courthouse and have lunch at a cute little place called Houndstooth Cafe that we use to go to when we had our Civil War book business. They were closed when we got there. Another hungry expectant patron pulled up at the same time, a local, who said it was rather hit and miss on the hours. Judging by the condition, we probably will not be able to enjoy this great little place again. We pulled away remembering happier past experiences at the little cafe. Another sad goodbye.

All in all, we had a
fantastic trip, and as soon as I can get creating again, I'll have something to show you, hopefully made with some of my new goodies!

Thanks for stopping by!

Home Again And Happy

We snapped a few shots
as we left for home. (I'm beginning to think I live in that jacket!)

Crossing the mountains.

I wish the sun would
have been out... but it was still beautiful!

These last three are of my haul
from Your Scrapbook Superstore. The stickers on the left were a free gift... LOVE THAT STORE! (Sorry for the lighting... it's raining here.) Now if I can get everything back to normal and start creating, I'll show you what I have in mind for all of this.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs!

Grandparent's Day And A Haul

Today was Grandparent's Day.
My oldest daughter is following in my footsteps and is homeschooling two of her children. I must say she is a far superior teacher. She had a program all planned out, and the children each presented their work thus far for this year. Afterward, she had a delicious meal prepared for us all. So... no crafting today, as we are meeting our son for dinner tonight. Good thing I didn't eat breakfast!
When we arrived home this afternoon
I was surprised to find a package from ScrapAce. It came much sooner than I had anticipated. Are you familiar with them? It's something you need to check out if you haven't already. This was the deal I purchased this time...

It's a great way to buy supplies
at super duper low prices. You can check them out here.
Thanks for stopping by... see you later with a new project!

Small Haul And A Sympathy Card

Just a quick post to say
"hello" to you and wish you a "Happy Labor Day" weekend!
I received an order from Cut At Home today and am pouring over the beautiful papers in the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two 6x6 Blush Paper Pad.

I had also purchased the Spellbinder's Classic Hearts Nestibilities. Cut At Home offers customers a VIP Membership where you receive a 40% off coupon each month. I've been using mine to build my Spellbinder's dies collection. Check them out for some great product and pricing.
I made a sympathy card
for an old friend who lost her mother recently.

Just kept it clean and simple.

Stay safe this weekend and
thanks for stopping by my blog! I love visiting with you!

Virginia Michaels Haul

Don't you love shopping in your favorite stores in another town?
For some reason I always seen to find bargains, probably because the store is set up differently and I look more carefully. The Michaels here is smaller than the one I normally shop, but WOW... what I found!
Recollections on clearance... Oh Happy Day!
