Love And Prayers In Black And White

When it comes to clothing,
black is always my first choice... she writes as she sits at her desk in a black sweater, black socks, black shoes and a splash of color with dark blue jeans. I sometimes wonder if it is carry over from my Amish ancestors or that I think it makes me look thinner... oh, impossible? Well, what ever the reason, I love the pairing of black and white, and went to town looking through all my lovely papers choosing what I thought was the perfect combination of said pair. Here it is...

The card base is Core'dinations
Jet Black and the mat base is a piece of white cardstock from my scrap pile. The Meadow Lark 6 x 6 Designer Pad from My Mind's Eye is my DP.

The tag is from DMD. I used the
File Tab Die-namics Die from My Favorite Things. I stamped it with Black Archival Ink and Skipping Stones Design's Timeless Textures and a sentiment from an old set. With the Tim Holtz Alterations Mini Tickets Set I cut the two tickets, one from copper, and with his Branch & Leaf Set, the black branch, two leaves and one copper leaf that I embossed with the Cuttlebug Folder Swiss Dots. The copper ticket and leaf were rubbed with Tim's Fall Limited Edition Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink to give them a hint of orange color. Antique Linen DI was used on the edges of the papers. Black crinkled seam binding is looped through the tag which was edged with TH's On the Edge Brackets Die.

I'm entering my card in the
following challenges...
CAS-ual Fridays - Tag You're It
Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes

Well, I've done it again... I was
planning on entering this at The Plat Date Cafe, but just noticed it was closed... shoot! BUT then my eyes glanced down to the next paragraph, and I low and behold... hurray!!! I'm in THE FAB FOUR for this
Hope you have a happy day... mine's getting better!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs!
Linda

Such a beautiful and elegant creation.

You gotta know this, my favorite color for clothing is black too, I can't tell you how many black top I have, it is always black and blue jeans. My mom used to make noise about me wearing black when I was in my early 20s. She said young girl should not dress in dark shade like that, but you know what, till these days, black still dominant my wardrobe... : )

This is gorgeous, Linda! Such fabulous use of the classic color combo of black and white. You have used it brilliantly! Love the combo of stark mixed with the softer gray tones of the image and sentiment piece. The addition of the copper is fabulous, too. Makes for SUCH an eye catching design!

I'm riveted by that bird image. It's got what I love: an old time feel, worn, weathered, but artistic too.
