Vintage Redo and A Pink Bling Pen

I'm sorry to be gone so much. The Penmaker and I seem to be swamped with projects... of all types!

I have a number of cards I created awhile back with which I'm not completely satisfied. This is one that I decided to give a makeover.

I don't remember the papers at all, but the tag and corners I know are Graphic 45's Staples stickers.

The image is from October Afternoon's Wild Cards called Modern Homemaker. They came in the February Springtime Pixie kit... was it 2011? So did the Apricot American Crafts card stock. The tiny golden flowers were from the April Country Farm Stand kit. Wow... this is really taking me back! I LOVED those kits!!!

Some green Spanish moss and I Am Roses small gardenias.

The Penmaker has been working overtime to get ahead on his stock.

This is another of what I call his bling pens... with pink Swarovski crystals along with pink and blue dyed spalted wood with his ten coat CA gorgeous finish.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Our Time Anniversary Pocket Card

Here are my selections for an anniversary card... The Ladies' Diary by Graphic 45 and a big white gardenia from I Am Roses.

This collection, as with most from G45,  has so many beautiful images that can adapt to quite a few different occasions.

I used Alterations Distress Doily and Thinlits Holiday Greens along with Spellbinders Lacey Circles dies and We R Memory Keepers scallop corner punch.

The our time wood piece is from Prima and the ivory burlap string is by May Arts.

A Ladies' Diary Masculine Pocket Card w/Tag and a Pen with Bling

I love these patterns from the G45 A Ladies' Diary collection so much, that I decided to take a photo before a got started. They're teamed up with a sheet of Core'dinations Kraft-Core. They all blend so nicely.

Along with the G45, are several die-cuts from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Expedition ephemera pack.

Some edging cut with Alterations Torn Notebook die and May Arts ivory burlap string to tie together a piece of chipboard and a brown button.

I punched the corners of one of the mats with We R Memory Keepers Stub punch. The Distress Ink is Vintage Photo.

A Prima clock and an Idea-ology mini paper clip.

Another of the Penmaker's bling pens... this one with sapphire Swarovski crystals and custom designer acrylic.

Have a wonderful Sunday, friends!

A Ladies' Diary Pocket Card and MM Wood Pens

This Graphic 45 collection will be out on my desk for awhile. I'm having so much fun creating with these papers and chipboard.

I only cut with one die today... Prima's pineapple doily. The flowers are from I Am Roses, the twine is May Arts ivory burlap string, green Spanish moss, a Prima clock and a black paper doily from my stash.

The Penmaker is busy creating Minerva Monster pens for the MM Festival in June in Minerva, Ohio. It's so exciting that the town is having a special day planned around the showing of our son's documentary. The response to the movie has been overwhelming, and there may be some even bigger announcements to make later. A huge thank you to all of you who have shown interest. We are so grateful for your kindness!

G 45's A Ladies' Diary Birthday Pocket Card w/Tag and A Bling Pen

Working with my Graphic 45 papers, I created a birthday card for our daughter-in-law with A Ladies' Diary collection.

Petaloo Botanicas, I Am Roses white cherry blossoms and yellow rose buds on a layer of cheesecloth.

May Arts ivory burlap string.

A white card stock doily cut with Prima's pineapple doily die.

I added in one of my treasured The Girls' Paperie Vintage Whimsy glitter charms... I love these things!... along with a scrap of lace.

The cherish sentiment was cut with Alterations' Handwritten Love Thinlits and coated with a layer of UTEE. All the paper edges are distressed and sponged with Vintage Photo DI.

The Penmaker has created another beauty I'm anxious to show you.

The chrome center band and clip are embedded with Swarovski crystals.

Artist acrylic in purple, pink and white swirls with some slight blue shading.

The Penmaker

I just wanted to share this video our son made for a film competition. Please let me know your thoughts.

Published on May 19, 2015
My entry for the My Rode Reel short film competition. A mini-doc about my dad and his hobby of creating custom pens. Made with my Nex-VG900, the Rode VideoMic, Rokinon 35mm and 85mm lenses, a generic slider and a bootleg stabilizing rig made out of PVC.

Gift Pocket Cards with Pens

Once again I had the opportunity to create the gift cards for the pens that were given to the speakers at the Ohio Bigfoot Conference 2015.

I chose Prima's Engraver collection because of the fabulous maps on several of the papers. This is still one of my top favorites. I used dies by Alterations - Pine Tree and Mini Pine Tree along with Die-namics Layered Label set. The twine is May Arts natural burlap string. The Distress Ink is Vintage Photo.

These are the pens the Penmaker created for the presentations... a big variety of colors and patterns.

The weekend was certainly an exciting event and it's hard to get back to work today. I hope I can get around to visit you all sometime this evening. I'm definitely in need of inspiration.
