CR84FN37 Color Challenge

This week at CR84FN the
challenge is to create with these three colors: Light Blue, Turquoise and Neutral.

I used Bo Bunny's Gabrielle
"Cameo" DP teamed with white and light blue cardstock.

I stamped the cameo with a Ditto
sentiment from Studio G using Walnut Stain Distress Ink, fussy cut it, then popped it up with 3-D foam squares. I glued on a touch of sheer light blue trim and a few pearls. I sectioned a Prima pearl swirl and added some down the left side of the card and used the rest for the butterfly and under the "You" of the sentiment.

Recollections mini roses,
a medium rose from I Am Roses and MS oak leaves punched from light blue cardstock complete this card.
I hope to see your creation displayed at CR84FN this week!

City Crafter Challenge #72

Week #72 is "All Dressed Up" and presented by hostess Kirsty Vittetoe.

In order to make a project
featuring a dress or dress form, I chose this fashion image from my stash. The papers are white and grey flecked cardstocks plus the new Authentique Journey Collection - "Promenade". I love this paper for it's heavy texture... it gives a lot of body to a card and looks fabulous.

The two grey laces and fused
pearls are from my stash. The grey flecked cardstock was cut with a Spellbinders Labels Seventeen. All paper edges were inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Recollections pearl bling
plus additional Queen & Co self-adhesive flat-backed pearls.

The roses are from Recollections
and I Am Roses and were sprayed with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist, which gives a shimmer with the absence of color.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #64

Today is my final project as
Guest Designer for Tuesday Throwdown and I must say it has been a tremendous pleasure to be associated with this exciting challenge blog. Thank you so very much for this honor, ladies.
For this week, challenge #64
is to create your project with a "Punny Sentiment", and this is mine...

On a white cardstock base, I added
several different DP from Creative Imaginations.

For my image I chose "Clipper"
from Digi's With Attitude! I colored him up with Distress Inks in Barn Door, Antique Linen and Black Soot.

The sentiment was done on
my Mac in the Handwriting - Dakota font.

I added a real shell that was
picked up on a beach in Florida years ago and a skeleton leaf from I Am Roses.

Pixie Dust Paperie August Challenge Second Entry

Since I have two delightful
granddaughters that are very close in age, I thought it appropriate to make a card to enter the August Challenge "That's My Girl" at Pixie Dust Paperie of both of them. You remember I entered Penny's on Wednesday. Well, here is the card I did for my first grandchild, Katie...

This one is made from the Pebbles
"Ever After" Collection and Sassafras "Sweetly Smitten" Collection (from the May La Dolce Vita Kit).

I used Spellbinders Labels Two and
Labels Seventeen, Antique Linen Distress Ink, a Maya Road Heart Trinket Pin, Recollections roses and leaves, and Recollections Rhinestone Stickers. The lace is from my bargain store, Surplus City in Maryland.
I am so blessed...
God has given me five fantastic grandchildren with another coming "very shortly". Just think of all the projects I can make with their adorable photos!
Have a great day... Hugs to all!

Pixie Dust Paperie August Challenge

Pixie Dust Paperie "That's My Girl" is to create a project with the image of a girl or a lady.
My card features a photo of my granddaughter taken last year that I printed out on cardstock.

I used a combination of papers from
two Pixie Kits... "Snow Shoe" and "Picnic Basket". On a base of white cardstock, I layered Pink Paislee's Daily Junque -"Map" and Prima's Jack n' Jill - "Ode To Joy" and Annalee - "Sonnet".

Spellbinders Labels Seventeen and
Sizzix Branch w/Leaves Dies were used plus a Martha Stewart punch for the border. Antique Linen Distress Ink for the edges and TPC Studio Reel Me In Jewels for sparkle.

I can't believe how much Penny
has grown since this photo was taken. Today she started back to school... second grade. How time does fly by.
Have a wonderful day!

City Crafter Challenge #71 & Tuesday Throwdown #63

I am so happy to be the Guest Designer
this week, not at one but at two fabulous challenge blogs... City Crafter Challenge Blog and Tuesday Throwdown. If you love to do challenges... you will love these two challenge blogs!!!
Here is my Guest Designer card for CCCB
for week #71 that the talented Hostess Ros has set as "Best of Friends".

Again I called on my versatile
Pixie Kits for supplies and used the Girl's Paperie Vintage Whimsy and American Crafts pink cardstock. I added a scrap of My Mind's Eye from my stash.

Embellishments include Recollections
mini roses, I Am Roses crocheted flowers and pink satin ribbon twined with pearls from Hobby Lobby.

I added a tiny Melissa Frances frame
that is holding a snippet of the GP DP and scattered a few pearls about... and of course... my image of the "Best of Friends".

Now here is my Guest Designer
card for Tuesday Throwdown #63 which is all about "Dimension and Texture"...

I just adore the fabulous papers
from October Afternoon so I teamed a couple up with three colors of cardstock... white, green and brown.

For the image, I chose this lovely
jam of jam with strawberries from MyGrafico (ideal with this DP). I colored it with Tim Holtz Distress Inks... Worn Lipstick, Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo. The die cuts are made from Spellbinders Lacey Circles and sit atop a paper doily.

I did a touch of machine stitching
for more texture and added some ruffled brown trim from Webster's Pages, Recollections mini roses and bling...

and an I Am Roses apple blossom
with a few leaves punched with Martha Stewart's Oak Leaf Punch.
Please check out these great
challenge blogs. You'll be inspired by their Design Teams and challenged to new levels... besides having fun!!!

Happy Birthday Mini Album

First of all I must say I had no idea
how hard it would be to photograph a finished album. There is so much going on on these pages that it's hard to pick up all the detail. I made this using the October Afternoon 5 & Dime Mini Album Kit that consisted of the precut chipboard pages, double sided paper and a ring (that turned out to be too small).

I added in some of the Cosmo Cricket
Odds & Ends papers from my August Picnic Basket Kit  from Pixie Dust Paperie. Two photos of my granddaughters tuck into the pocket that was cut with a Spellbinders Labels One. I also clipped on a Tim Holtz Ideology Hanger.

I put wide eyelets on the paper backed
photos so I could thread some thin crinkled seam binding through.

Crocheted mini flowers from I Am
Roses and tiny white flowers with rhinestone centers from Recollections add more texture to this page.

Burlap, 5 & Dime paper cut from the 8x8
Paper Pad, a My Minds Eye brad and a Tim Holtz Memo Pin embellish this page along with two manly (a knife and a bullet) charms.

Circles cut from the 5 & Dime 8x8 Paper Pad
fit perfectly into these bottle caps. I Am Roses apple blossoms and Recollections mini roses with leaves punched with Martha Stewart's Oak Leaf and Rose Leaf punches...

and another photo tucked into the top
of this Spellbinders Labels One die cut pocket.

This page is a bit plainer with
just some Recollections pearl bling, I Am Roses skeleton leaves and a white gardenia.

Prima and Recollections flowers
teamed with punched oak leaves and TPC Studio Reel Me In Jewels on the stamped sentiment adorn this page.

I Am Roses apple blossoms, gardenia
and skeleton leaves, Recollections mini roses and bauble, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares die cuts, more Reel Me In Jewels, a punched butterfly and a pink Maya Road Heart Trinket Pin complete this back page.
Did I mention this was a gift for my daughters 34th birthday?
Hope you have a very happy day!

You For Two Challenges

When I started to make a card
for the Kraft Outlet Anything Goes Challenge, I realized that my colors were just perfect for the Challenge at CR84FN36 also.

This is my card...

I used my favorite Kraft cardstock
along with Girls Paperie Kitch "Rose Bouquet" backside and Sassafrass Sweetly Smitten "Dainty Sketch" backside.

I made this floral bouquet with a base
of a skeleton leaf and a Sizzix Branch w/Leaves diecut in Kraft cardstock, assorted roses, yellow crinkled seam binding and a Metal Edge Grungy Tag stamped with my sentiment "You".

Added two tied vintage buttons, a Sassafras
Journal Tag and a Tim Holtz Salvage Sticker.
Please join me in entering these two challenges this week.

City Crafter Challenge #71

Scrap Happy!

Cheryl is back as Hostess
and has set as the challenge of using only scraps on your project... piece a cake, right! Who doesn't have tons of scraps laying around their craft space.

I first pulled out my Springtime Pixie Kit
and went through all the leftovers. I settled on the gold, black and tan shades, then hunted out a few more pieces in my general scraps bag.

The brad is from a pack of My Minds
Eye Lost and Found that is just down to a couple left. My son-in-law gave me the button.

I found a cut I Am Roses Apple
Blossom and painted it with Folk Art Metallic Champagne. Added it with two Recollections mini roses from another kit and some punched oak leaves.

The kraft border is from a longer piece I
had made for another project and the gold strip with the faux stitching is from OA's Modern Homemaker "Flour Sack". The Graphic 45 stickers were from my much depleted Country Farm Stand Kit.
I'm happy these scraps have found a home!
