A Series of Sympathy Cards

Hello there!
The Penmaker and I have been on the go, but I've managed to create a series of sympathy cards which are part of a special order.
Here is the first.

The papers are by Kaisercraft and the metallic gold is from Tim Holtz.
The flowers are 49 & Market.

I'll be back with more in this series and some Christmas cards and tags.
Have a fabulous day, friends!

Christmas Gift Tags

Hello and Happy Sunday!
I have two tags to show you today. I cut a few #5 tags to make for some of my Christmas gifts from kraft paper. My dish of scraps is growing at an alarming rate, so I really needed to work on taking that down a bit. This piece of Tim Holtz Paper Stash Tidings was laying on top of the pile so I grabbed it first. Digging through, I found this tree die-cut as well.

The "peppermint" and "Special Delivery" I pulled from the TH new Christmas ephemera pack. I cut the Thinlits Labels piece using another scrap... Echo Park, I think. The dyed seam binding and Baker's Twine came with one of my Funkie Junkie Boutique orders as a gift.

For my second tag, I used a negative scrap from a scalloped oval die-cut.

The image is backed with gold glitter paper. It was another gift from FJB. The florals were cut out with Thinlits Festive Greens from Classic Kraft Paper Stash and gold glitter paper. The red seam binding is from my stash.

Enjoy your day!

O Come All Ye Faithful Pocket Card

Hi everyone!
I'm finally off to a start with my Christmas cards. And to get me going was this set of die-cuts I received as a gift in my last Funkie Junkie Boutique order. They were ready-made inspiration!

I made this card rather simple, which I'm going to try to do with all my Christmas cards this year. The base paper is from Photo Play's Julie Nutting Belle Vie collection. The pretty snowflake paper is from Idea-ology's Paper Stash Tidings by Tim Holtz. I purchased the gorgeous gold corrugate paper at Hobby Lobby in Tennessee for half off... and why on earth I only bought one sheet, I'll never know! What is wrong with me?

The die-cut under the music sheet (complements of FJB) was cut with Alterations Thinlits Stitched Rectangles. The paper is Idea-ology Deco Sheets in gold that I adhered to a piece of cardstock before running it through my Vagabond. I used Remnant Rubs Glided Accents on the corners. My tag has a wide gold eyelet and is tied with white organza and thin gold metallic ribbons.

I did the florals with Paper Stash Classic Kraft using Thinlits Festive Greens (my go-to die set for the fall and Christmas seasons). I cut the bow from Paper Stash Metallic Kraft and the two berries from red glitter paper for a bit of pop to the color palate.
That's one down!!! YES!

You Are In My Thoughts Pocket Card

Hi friends!
Today I have a multi (multi, multi) layered card to show you. I guess I just couldn't quit on this one. Lots of layers with lots of craft foam in-between. I used the Prima Rossibelle collection with a sheet of Bo Bunny basic paper for the base and tag.

Prima and 49 & Market flowers with May Arts ivory burlap string.

Alterations Thinlits Stitched Circles and Stitched Rectangles dies plus Distressed Doily. The filigree corner piece was purchased on eBay. The "you" die-cut and the stamped "are in my thoughts" are done with Avery Elle's Sentimental Too.

Tomorrow, hopefully I'll be starting on Christmas cards. Am I the only one behind? It seems that every year my list of makes gets longer and my time shorter.
Hope to see you later in the week.

Souvenir Views Pocket Card

Hi friends!
I'm back again, and as I write this the Penmaker's tools in his workshop are still whirring away. Yes, he's nearly finished with his big order, which will be a relief to us both... and we're so thankful for the business.

I was able to find some time in my craft room, and created another masculine type card. Made from a mix of Bo Bunny and Kaisercraft papers with lots of different ephemera pieces.

I found this Prima Flair button in my stash, and layered it with a die-cut, then created in mini arrangement with a Petaloo tea-stained bloom and Alterations Thinlits die-cut foliage...

using the new Festive Greens.

I needed just a bit of metal... I always do on my masculine cards. I pulled this Prima banner paperclip from one of my storage boxes, and added it here at the top to highlight the"voyage".
That's all for today... please have a great day!

Thinking of You Pocket Card & Dixie

Hello dear friends, and happy Friday!
We took a short break last week, and drove to Tennessee along with most of the family. What a refreshing and happy time. There's nothing like a vacation with grandchildren. Goodness, what a blessing they are!

Now that we're back, we're in the midst of a huge pen order, with the Penmaker working non-stop. I can hear his lathe spinning away as I write. I've gotten a few cards made, but haven't had the time to post anything until this morning.

This "Thinking of You" card is one I made for our shop. It's a combination of Kaisercraft Provincial papers, a Prima printed chipboard piece, a Prima flower, and Alterations Thinlits die-cuts for the foliage. For texture I added in some white thread to rest the foliage on, and a row of white lace trim. On the tag, I tied some gorgeous mint green wrinkled seam binding into a double bow.

I cut a couple of the layers with Thinlits Stitched Circles and Stitched Squares. For a touch of bling, I added half pearls.

Last night we had a surprise birthday party for granddaughter Dixie with a few of her BFF's. Just a small affair. Again, there is nothing to compare to grandchildren.

Birthday Love Pocket Card

Hi Friends!
I'll bet you're thinking... oh no, not another masculine card! I just can't help it... I'm on a roll and can't quit. I'm having a ball making these. Loving the challenge of no frills or flowers. Trying to be creative without adding lace and soft ribbons.

This is another made with Bo Bunny and Prima Engraver. Lots of Tim Holtz, too! The two layer "Love" die-cut is of Metallic Kraft cut with Alterations Thinlits Handwritten Love. There's some Idea-ology ephemera and a wood frame from Prime.

Also from Prima, Junkyard Findings bolts. The key and timepiece I bought at Hobby Lobby. There's a layer of corrugate by Idea-ology...

and a couple of layers of Thinlits Stitched Circles and Stitched Rectangles. I used Black Soot and Vintage Photo Distress Inks on everything. I tied my tag with May Arts natural burlap string.
This might be the last man card for awhile, but then again, maybe not.

Drive-In Tasty Food Birthday Pocket Card

Hi Friends!
I've been excited to show you this pocket card. I just love the way it turned out! I started with Authentique's Harvest collection from last year, and added in some Prima Engraver from the 6x6 paper pad.

The printed chipboard pieces are all from a discontinued set from Farm House. Tucked under the bottle cap is a Prima white timepiece.

Here you can see die-cuts made with Alterations Thinlits Gearhead, Stitched Squares, and Labels. There's an ephemera piece in the mix from the Idea-ology Layers Collections by Tim Holtz. I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink on all the edges.

This Gearhead gear, cut from Metallic Kraft, is topped with a Prima Junkyard Findings screwhead. The burlap ribbon is by May Arts.

The foliage is a mix of Thinlits Fall Foliage and Festive Greens with a small, brown Teastained bloom  from Petaloo.

Joie de Vivre Birthday Pocket Card

Hi and Happy Weekend!
Hope you're enjoying yours and have some fun activities planned, as well as some crafting. I find even though I'm retired, the weekend is still the time I do a lot of card making.

I did a card similar to this awhile back, but using a plain white card base. I'm still in love with this Graphic 45 French Country collection. Love the chickens and yellow with the blue... sighhh! So pretty! Whenever I see those two colors together I think "France".

I have two aprons I purchased at Epcot in the France section that are... of course, blue and yellow. I'm assuming that's a normal French thing.

This gorgeous yellow ribbon is from Joann's, bought at 60% off.

My flowers are a combination of 49 & Market and Petaloo. The lace is from my stash... probably from Webster's Pages since most of my older ones are.

The darling little sun bonnet came from The Funkie Junkie Boutique. The last of my treasured little hats.
So glad I could share my creation with you. I'll be back next week with a "Tasty" treat!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Boy & His Dog Birthday Pocket Card

Hi again, sweet friends!
I'm still in the mood to make masculine cards... loving the challenge they bring! And since my Bo Bunny papers were out, I went with them for the base, tag and layers.

The bottom mat layer is a Postage Stamp Frame Bigz die by Sizzix Alterations. On top of that is their Thinlits Stitched Squares.

I then added some ephemera pieces from the Idea-ology Layers Collection. Everything is inked with Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo Distress ink.

"Happy" is cut from Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft paper with Avery Elle's Sentimental Too die set.

The wood ruler is a 7 Gypsies item called School Rulers. I've had mine for ages, but they may still be available. I broke a chunk off of mine to add a bit more interest... also for economy sake. I have only one left and I'm trying to make them stretch.

This cute boy and his dog (above), are Idea-ology Paper Dolls. I love these things... you get a gazillion in a package of all sizes.

They're both popped up with foam adhesive.

My tiny arrangement is one very small dark blue bloom from Petaloo and foliage cut with Thinlits Festive Greens. The tag is the Metallic Kraft cut with a Thinlits Labels die and stamped with the matching (above) Avery Elle Sentimental Too Stamp Set.
Have a happy day!
