Today I was determined
to start using by some old supplies and the first thing I picked up was a tag I did last week. Not exactly ancient, but I thought I could work a journal page around it. This is what I came up with...
I started by applying gesso
to the pages, drying with my heat tool, then rubbing on several colors of acrylic craft paint with my finger, blending them together. When dry, I dropped on dabs of Color Wash, Butterscotch and Wild Plum, sprayed them with water, then gave them a shot of air (blowing through a straw). Next I used half of my Balzer Designs Mini Poppies stencil by Crafter's Workshop...
dabbing on it with Snow Cap Dabber Paint from Ranger to form the flowers. Outlined them with an extra soft charcoal pencil and smudged the lines with my finger to shade. Rubbed Jet Black Archival ink along the edges of the pages then stamped with Dina Wakley's Create with Abandon rubber stamp.
Used a star stamp with Wild Honey Distress Ink to add more texture.
The tag was made
using Linda Coughlin's technique (Frilly and Funkie) she posted here. The Distressed Inks are Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Brushed Corduroy. I finished with stamping the date at the bottom of the right hand page.
Remember... these steps can be used to create a card or a layout, too!
I'm now on my way to using up my aged stash!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs!
