You & Me Layout

Here it is again...
the most beautiful Pink Paislee Hope Chest collection. Ever since I bought this at Scrapdoodles in Fredericksburg, I've been completely smitten. I pulled my PP box from my stack to pick out my papers and saw what I had left of their Butterfly Garden and Anthology (resist papers) collections. They were a perfect blend, so I used all three.

Most of the flowers are
from Prima (Serenity, the two greys by the photo... LOVE these!) The white roses, pink buds and cherry blossoms are from I Am Roses.

The grey and black
flowers are Prima. The rooster was fussy cut; the die-cut is from the HC Paper Goods topped with a Prima Junkyard Finding nail head. Doilies were cut with Alterations Distressed Doily die. The pink BG border was cut with Martha Stewart's deep-edge punch Floral Vine. I used Prima's Old Road chalk ink on all the paper edges.

The sentiment is a My Mind's
Eye's Heirloom Word Sticker. These borders were punched with MS Scallop Dot. Another Prima canvas flower.

The white butterflies are
from I Am Roses. I added a dab of silver Stickles to the tip of each antenna. More die-cuts from the Paper Goods pack.

The foliage was cut from
Alterations Tattered Pinecone die and MS Branch punch. The photo is of my sweet Adelaide and me... just hanging out together. Nothing like being a grandma!!!!

Fair Skies Mini Album

Before Christmas I ordered
one of Scrap Ace's fabulous bargains that they had going... a Farmhouse Fair Skies mini album class kit complete with paper pad, stickers and chipboard. When I pulled it out to begin, I was sorely disappointed as the layouts for the pages were so "not me". What you see here is a Linda B version... not completely my style, but the best I could do with a collection that I wouldn't have purchased had it not been "such a deal"! I believe I have learned a valuable lesson.

I added some Petaloo
and Prima flowers here and there, plus a few other embellishments.

Thoughts Art Journal Page

I'm really feeling bad
today, probably another sinus infection coming, but I wanted to get this art journal page up to show you before I head back to bed.
I created this last week on
a sheet of watercolor paper. After I adhered it into my journal, I realized I wasn't happy with the amount of metal elements I put on it, and needed to add more. Of course, then I had to apply more ink and got it everywhere. At least I was satisfied with the end result.

The inks used are:
Lindys Flat Fabio - T-Bird Turquoise
Dylusions - Black Marble, Fresh Lime, Vibrant Turquoise
Other supplies:
Prima Checkered stencil; Idea-ology, Spare Parts & Prima metal elements; Idea-ology filmstrip ribbon; Prima Sunrise Sunset clear stamp; Prima Music Notes canvas: Idea-ology tissue tape; Prima resist canvas border; Stampers Anonymous Curious Possibility cling stamp set; Alterations Mini Arrow die.

The photo is an old one
taken of our youngest son at Universal Studios in Florida. We use to do a Civil War seminar in Sarasota every year around the beginning of February (a huge treat for Ohioans at that time of year). We always left a few days early so we could make a stop at Orlando and go to the parks. Ahhh... good times... and now, great memories! God is so good!

Remembering These Special Moments

These are all the beautiful
papers from Prima's 2013 collection of Lyric. I have four layers of them for the base as well as a 12 x 12 of black chipboard. I used Crafter's Workshop stencil Punchinella in the 6 x 6 size to put down some molding paste which I then sprayed with Lindy's Clam Bake Beige Starburst.

I fussy cut the lace strip
and the banners. Here and there are scraps of ruler pieces and this piece that I had punched with Martha Stewart's Traditional Scallop that I had left over from another project. I hate to throw away scraps and these all fit in so perfectly. The pen nib is from Idea-ology.

The clock was fussy cut
and topped with a Prima Mechanical screw head. The black doily is from my stash.

The chipboard rose was part
of the Lyric chipboard sticker sheet. The flowers are all from I Am Roses.

The butterfly was also
from that same sticker sheet and my sentiment was cut from one of the papers. I tucked a bit of lace here and there between layers.

I did some splatters with
Dylusions Black Marble spray ink.

I just put my granddaughter
down for her nap so maybe I can get something done on my Scrappin in the Smokies. I haven't worked on it for a couple of weeks... this is going to be one long, drawn out mini album. I'm so happy to relive the memories, though, while making it!

You Have My Whole Heart Valentine Card

Just like my friend, Audrey
(here at her blog), I have one more Valentine card to show you. I didn't want to post this one before Valentine's Day because my sweetheart would have seen it and spoiled the surprise.

I've been saving this
My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart layered sticker just for this occasion. I mixed it with their Heirloom collection and some odds and ends from my scrap box.

The chipboard button
is also from the FYH collection. The rose is I Am Roses and the foliage was cut from Sizzix Branch w/leaves die.

Journey Art Journal Page

I created this art journal
layout on Valentine's Day, so it has a romantic theme... that of our wedding and the journey that it's lead us.

I cut some watercolor paper
into two 5.75" x 8" pieces and taped them to my craft sheet with masking tape. I put down lots of tape and lace layers topping them with surface prep white gesso... then a layer of heavy gesso using a Crafters Workshop 12" x 12" stencil... Julie Balzer's Circle Explosion. With a Prima mask, I added Black Soot Distress Ink.

Now I put on whatever I
could find laying on my desk or beside it... like this piece of black #8 pearl cotton left over from a towel my granddaughter and I worked on last weekend... a scrap of chain, some buttons, half a French Lace paper doily, Prima Mechanicals, and scraps of Prima resist canvas plus their border strips. I tore a Prima canvas flower in half and glued on the two sections, pinning on a tiny Spare Parts safety pin from Hobby Lobby. I backed our photo with a torn piece of Prima's Music Notes resist canvas. Did lots of stapling to hold things together.
For the ink sprays I
choose Lindy's Flat Fabios in T-Bird Turquoise and Pink Ladies Pink along with their Starbursts in Clam Bake Beige and Fuzzy Navel Peach. When all was dry, I did some highlighting with black charcoal, cut the pages apart and glued them into my art journal.

And they lived happily ever after!

Valentine Pocket Envelopes - Girl Version

These four pocket envelopes
complete the Valentine treat projects I made for our grandchildren. As you can see, the girl version was loaded with flowers and foliage and more of those fussy cut hearts from the My Mind's Eye Heirloom collection.
Happy Valentines Day to you all!

Valentine Pocket Envelopes... Boy Version

For our grandchildren's
Valentine's treats, I went with a pocket envelope cut with Alterations PE die. The papers are an assortment of what was left after making my Valentine cards plus the My Mind's Eye Heirloom collection (I still have enough of it for next year... so happy!) I made seven... Adelaide is too little yet for one. These are the three for our boys, Grayden, William and Kenny... each pocket with a candy bar tucked inside.

Take Note Wallet Mini

While going through
Stephanie Miller's blog Saturday morning, I came across a post from October 2009 of a really cute mini using only one 12 x 12 sheet of paper. A mini from one sheet... I had to try it immediately.

 front

Since the finished project
didn't look very big, I thought paper with a small pattern would look best. I went with Kaisercraft's Take Note collection choosing "Report Paper"... a sort of sage green background with dainty gold, white and rust flowers  and brown foliage. The reverse side is a gold pattern.

 back

I had this puppy completed
in no time. For the tags I just cut the 3 x 4's from the "Memories Paper" and "Memo Paper" sheets...

Two pockets inside with
tags and a pocket with a tag on each outer side.

I added an additional
tag to the back pocket topping it with a wide eyelet and a bow.
The flower is by Recollections; the brad is from My Mind's Eye; the hinge clip, ball chain, pearl bauble and Simplify charm are all from Idea-ology. The fibers are from Darice.
