Hello Autumn Pocket Card

Hello, sweet friends!
It's been several days since I last did a post. I had a bit of an arthritis flare-up and couldn't do much with my hands... the joys of old age... LOL!
My newest fall card is a mix of papers from Prima, Echo Park and K & Company.

For somethings different, I stamped my Old Grist Mill image from Artistic Outpost onto a piece of Tim Holtz Textile Surfaces. To make the frame, I used a layer of Prima foiled Love Clippings and three layers of thin chipboard cut with Alterations Ornate Frame 2... glued together with Ranger Distress College Matte Medium.

The florals are I Am Roses flowers and leaves cut with Thinlits Fall Foliage.

My bird embellishment stack is a bottom layer of Echo Park orange Fall Is In The Air paper cut with Thinlits Stitched Ovals, a Prima Amber Moon printed chipboard foiled Hello Autumn piece, topped with Fall Foliage leaves and twig, and a Prima Amber Moon Ephemera bird.

To decorate the frame... a few more FF leaves and a tiny acorn duo I found in our daughter's front yard.
Happy Fall Y'all! (Coming soon!)

Live in the Sunshine Cabinet Card

Hello again friends!
Our weather definitely has a fall feel to it today, so I pulled out my Alterations Thinlits Fall Foliage set and an Idea-ology Cabinet Card to make this birthday card.

I used what ever scraps I had to cut the foliage... some Bo Bunny, K & Company, and a piece of a file folder I had inked with Distress. I made the tag with Sizzix Framelits w/Stamps by Stephanie Barnard and Archival Ink in Coffee. The twigs I had picked up in Pennsylvania during our movie shooting trip.

The wood, laser-cut butterflies are from my favorite shop in Tennessee.

I cut the Thinlits Stitched Oval frame with paper from the Tim Holtz Dapper 12x12 stack.

For the stamping, I picked out a sheet from the 49 and Market Vintage Artistry collection and my The Outpost stamp set by Artistic Outpost. I used my new TH Stamping Platform for this. I have never been much of a stamper, and this tool has really helped me to up my game. I love this thing!!!

For my tag inside the pocket, I added a bow made from Offray 5/8" polyester ribbon I got on sale at Joann's this week and an I Am Roses orange blossom.

Good Life Cabinet Card

Happy Monday!
I hope your weekend was great! We had a Thursday to Sunday trip to Indiana... Spring Mill State Park. Had a wonderful time and a much needed get-away to see some old and very dear friends.

I have another card to show you today made with a Tim Holtz cabinet card. For this one I cut a piece of Bo Bunny's Weekend Market collection. I topped it with die-cuts I made from Core'dinations Metallic Kraft paper using Alterations Thinlits Gearhead and slipped it inside the cabinet card. I cut two layers of TH Movers & Shapers Mini Old Jalopy adding those with 3-D foam tape.

I then cut three layers with Thinlits Stitched Ovals using Idea-ology Found Relatives and more of the Core'dinations Metallic Kraft and BB's Weekend Market collection, stacking and applying with foam tape. I chose a good life sentiment from TH Metallic Stickers Quotations pack and backed it with a Thinlits Label cut from Metallic Kraft.

I added some TH metal gears, hex fasteners, and Prima Junkyard Findings screw heads. On my tag, I tied a scrap of masculine-looking black-edged ribbon.
Hope you like it. I'm having a ball using up these cabinet cards. In fact... I might have to buy more!

You N Me Cabinet Card

One of my favorite scrapbook shops went out of business some time back. It was located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Whenever we were in the area, we made sure to stop, get inspired, and buy supplies. By being in the area, I mean anywhere in the state of Virginia, so therefor we often drove hours to get there. Well worth the trip though. I very much miss that place, and these cabinet cards are a happy reminder of my shopping excursions. I bought them on our last visit before they closed at a terrific discounted price. But more than a great price, it's still those good memories.

As I said this is a  cabinet card by Tim Holtz that I used as the base. The papers are from Prima's Love Clippings collection.

I made a number of die-cuts using Alterations Thinlits Garden Greens (which I covered in Glossy Accents), Movers and Shapers Mini Hearts...

and Thinlits Lace threaded through with hand-dyed, wrinkled seam binding.

The flowers are from I Am Roses. I included a tag to write a sentiment on and tucked it inside. I added a few crystals here and there.

A Few Little Notebooks

Ah yes... it's Saturday!!!
The Penmaker took me out for breakfast at one of our favorite spots, and then a stop at the car dealers. He's been shopping around for something new. It usually takes us months to decide on anything, so I'm not holding my breath.

I did this project last Saturday for our grandkids. My son-in-law gave me a stack of these little notebooks a couple of years back, and while I had decorated one or two, I still had a bunch to use up. I figured it would be a nice little book they could draw or scribble in.

I decided to do some college on them using Tim Holtz Distress College Medium. After working with this stuff, I could easily throw away all my other mediums and never miss them.

I kept them all pretty simple, just working on the covers.

I have a lot of 6x6 paper pads and pulled out some of those... Prima, My Mind's Eye and Graphic 45.

This was a good way to use up some old stash... old printed chipboard pieces and different alphas.

A fun project for me and hopefully something the grandkids will enjoy.

Thanks for stopping by! ... and have a great Saturday!

St. Tropez For You Pocket Card

Hi folks!
I'm sitting here with a jacket on... freezing. Not really, but I am chilly. It's rainy, cloudy, and not as warm as it should be for August in Ohio. Sure could use a bit of sunshine about now. I'll show you something sunny to get things on the brighter side... a card with St. Tropez.

I stacked and layered several patterns for this card and topped them off with a bird image instead of using something beachy from the collection. This one went perfectly with the color scheme.

The foiled papers add so much to the layout... love using these pieces to jazz things up. A little glitz does wonders.

For the florals, I began with a couple of some curly vine pieces I found in the woods at Ohiopyle during our filming trek with our son. To those I added some navy berry sprays I purchased at Pat Catan's.

For the flowers I chose Prima's St. Tropez (that's the name of the flowers and leaves pack as well as the collection) #596460. They have a velvety texture to them... so pretty.

I mixed in a few I Am Roses tiny rosebuds and a for you tag cut and stamped with Sizzix Framelits w/Stamps by Stephanie Barnard #660195. It's tied with ivory burlap string by May Arts.
Have a wonderful day friends... tomorrow is Friday!!!

I Think You're Awesome Card

Hello crafty friends!
I've been working on my garden this week trying to tidy things up. Now that our day lilies are finished blooming, they are looking a little sad. In fact, if it weren't for the potted flowers, there would be only the hostas and a few other odds and ends. I need to make some plans now for next year. I've thinned things down over the past few years so the snakes can't hide from me and scare me with I'm not expecting them. LOL! I really miss my Cassidy in times like this.

I have one more stash card to show you today. Another simple one able to fit in a regular envelope.

I used some Echo Park papers that I bought in the spring from A Cherry On Top. I buy a lot of my papers from them... they always have promo codes for discounts and they ship quickly.

Thinking of You Card and Grayden's Performance

Hi friends. I'm so happy you're visiting today.
I have a simple Thinking of You card to show you that's going into my stash made from a My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad on a pre-made white card base.

I cut a second label from white art foam to put under my sentiment label for some dimension. Just a basic card to fit into a regular envelope to mail off to a friend that needs encouraging. Good to have on hand.

Next I have a bit of family news. Our grandson, Grayden, did a one night performance in the outdoor drama Trumpet in the Land last night. It's a big deal for a twelve year old, or anyone for that matter.

This is the stage setting. It begins at 8:30 so it was just at dusk.

The play is about the Ohio frontier during the Revolutionary War. I've mentioned before that we live in a very historical area and this program brings a part of that history to life.

Grayden here with his younger brother William. The Penmaker is there in the center back. This was a great family event for us and another opportunity to get together and cheer on one of our grandchildren.

God Bless You Card

Hello sweet friends!
It's a lazy Sunday afternoon in our household. Catching up on some rest after a busy week.

My card is another I made for my stash... basic and simple. It actually got sent out a day after I made it, so I still need to create a few more to get caught up. The papers are from the My Minds Eye Blush 6x6 pad. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with Ranger's Gold Fine Embossing Powder. You was cut with Avery Elle's Sentimental Too die set using Core'dinations Metallic Kraft Paper Pad.
Hope you all enjoy the day.

Life Time Birthday Pocket Card

Hi friends!
Moving back to pocket cards, I have this one created with Prima's Life Time 6x6 paper pad. I dug deep into my stash to pull out some older products that were screaming to be used. The base and tag are from a sheet of Bo Bunny Heritage Census, which makes a great neutral background.

Along with cut and distressed layers of the Life Time collection, are an Alterations Thinlits Stitched Oval of Bo Bunny Vintage Double Dot in Gingerbread, an Alterations Doily 2, a stack of Die-namics Layered Labels, and a piece of ephemera from an unknown origin. The sewing machine image was fussy-cut from the paper pad.

Happy was cut with Avery Elle's Elle-ments Sentimental Too die set, and birthday was stamped with their coordinating stamp set onto a Thinlits Labels cut from Cor'dinations Kraft Metallic paper. The flowers are from I Am Roses and the berry spray was cut with Thinlits Garden Greens. I glitzed the berries with some Wink of Stella.

My five layer clock was cut with Tim Holtz Vintage Alarm Clock & Camera set.

Two other vintage stash items I used are these fibers by Darice and the two printed chipboard buttons and cord by Webster's Pages that came in Kristi's August 2011 Picnic Basket Pixie Dust kit. I now have only two of those little gems left. Someone please talk Kristi into making kits again... they were the best!!!
