City Crafter Challenge #64

CCCB week #64 is Birds of a Feather.

The lovely Miss Kirsty has given the challenge of creating a project with a bird or birdcage theme... stamp, cut, embellish, alter... or what have you! She's asking us to get crafty!

Well, my craftiness doesn't seem to

extend beyond folded paper these days... so this is what I made...

I used the lovely Vintage Whimsy collection

 from The Girls Paperie and Basic Grey's Lilykate. The Tim Holtz Caged Bird die was cut from a scrap of My Minds Eye DP. A hugh amount of Antique Linen Distress Ink was dabbed and wiped all around.

Crinkled seam binding bow and pearls...

and an image cut with Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares.

The center of my flower and this gorgeous

lace are from Deb Hickman and came with the A.T.C. swap we did last month... great fun!

A Win At PDP Challenge... It's The Little Things

I simply love these flowers and skelton leaves 

from I Am Roses. They blend so nicely with the mini roses from Recollection.

On Monday we celebrated my granddaughter's

birthday and I wanted to share a little something I repurposed for her.

You're #1 challenge... well I finished it for my first grandchild.

She also received a packet of supplies that I

put into this pocket made from two 12 x 12 sheets of Tim Holtz paper I sewed together.

Hopefully she'll create lots of cards and scrapbook

pages with this paper and embellishments. What a blessing to make something for my granddaughter!

A.T.C. Swap

Do you remember back in June 

when I told you about the A.T.C. challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog? Well Kirsty also arranged for those who wanted, to join in a swap. This sounded like something I would want to try... so I did! My swap partner was Deb Hickman at A World of Imagination. She is one of those talented ladies that can create a gorgeous card using paper, a rubber stamp and an ink pad... something I haven't a clue about. I am amazed by how she does that! Be sure to check out her blog for some inspiration.

So today the Penmaker came walking 

into the house with a package and announces "It's here". I knew what he meant as we have both been watching the mail for it's arrival. So exciting getting a package from the UK.

I ohhhed and ahhhed over every item as

I unwrapped the tissue. Just look at all this loveliness!

this lace is unbelievable... so sheer and delicate... and cream colored roses... oh delight!

My camera didn't pick up the colors quite right...

these are the most beautiful buttons. I've never had any in this shade before. And check out the huge roll of sheet music... ah, I LOVE IT!

these pins and under them is pattern paper! I've been wanting pattern paper for the longest time!!!

which I used to make my granddaughter 

Katie's birthday card. She turned eight  yesterday and I can hardly believe she's that old already.

Here Comes The Bride

I had originally made this card awhile back

using both the Floribunda and My Funky Valentine kits. When I needed a wedding card for my Pastor's daughter I looked to my stash housed in the top case of my secretary. I found this card in its original state, and knew it would work perfectly with a bit of tweaking.

I added several new roses and apple blossoms

along with skeleton leaves, punched oak leaves and pearl sprays.

I was quite happy with the result. I hope the 

bride and groom were too. May God bless Annie and Josh and their new life together.

Foothills Farmer's Market

This is the last of the Country Farm Stand Kit cards

I made the other day using the Webster's Pages Spring Market collection.

Now looking at all four together, I can see how

different from one another they are. This is one versatile kit, and I'm glad I have it!
