Steampunk Beauty Card

Fussy cuts, die cuts, and metals... the basics for my Steampunk Beauty card. Using Bo Bunny papers, Petaloo flowers and leaves and my basics, I created a rather simple card with depth.

Drinking a mug of my favorite Starbucks Verona coffee with a liberal amount of Coffeemate, I'm searching my brain for an idea for a fall themed card. I did two yesterday and was anxious to get home after church and eating out with family to get started. Now I seem to have drawn a blank. After I've drained this mug, I'm hopeful something will come to mind.
Have a peaceful Sunday!

Sun Sand & Sea Card With A Little Laughter

I'm not a beachy person, much preferring mountains to ocean, but I do appreciate the colors depicting the later. There's nothing like cool watery blues, gorgeous soft greens, or sandy whites. These vintage papers of mine seen to capture all of those tones.

Thankfully, we have nothing planned for the weekend, except to take our daughter-in-law and Addy to the bakery in Mineral City. Maybe I can get in a little time to work on some new projects. I got an order yesterday of new fall papers that I'm dying to cut into.
Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

More Than Words Card

Hi, everyone! I, seriously, have been trying to write this post for three days. What is it about summer that makes everything speed up to an unbelievable pace? The grandchildren all seem to be in hyper mode, while I'm somewhere in slow motion (at least it feels that way). We celebrated The Penmaker's birthday with the whole family in attendance except for SIL, JD, who had to work. In between that big event, we had three library screenings to attend and that ballgame that our son was to throw out the first pitch (which ended up being rained out and now switched to August). I feel the need for a vacation. LOL!

I haven't slowed down on the card making though. I did this one with Bo Bunny Juliet and some bits of fussy cut papers from my scrap pile on my desk.

My yellow flowers are from I Am Roses.

For something different, I added a Tim Holtz swivel clasp and a pretty antique bronze heart charm from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Stand By Me Card

Awhile back I wanted to try making a card with the less is more theory. I think my cards are more noted for having layer upon layer of stuff, but for this one I felt the wood pattern paper needed to stand out.

The few layers I did add are mostly scrap pieces... those beauties you just can't bear to throw away that will work on something at sometime. (You all know what I mean.)

The little bit of lace was another treasure on the pile on my desk awaiting a home in my art  journal or on a card. The Noted is a wood icon from Prima.

My Stand By Me sticker is from the Bo Bunny Juliet collection, as are some of these other papers.

The ticket is a Tim Holtz ephemera piece, the wood clip is by Darice...

and the tiny stained heart is from my favorite wood shop in the Smoky Mountains.

Even with cutting down on layers, I just have to add flowers... these being an assortment of Prima and I Am Roses.

To My Heart's Delight Card

Big things going on around here. Our youngest just got a promotion to manager where he works, and our other son, The Director, is going to be throwing out the first pitch at the Cleveland Indians affiliate game this weekend. I'm just a bit proud!

My anniversary card for today is just chock-full of Graphic 45 goodness. These colors are so rich and the patterns are dripping with romanticism.

I've added in some I Am Roses in stunning shades of pink and coral. I adore these tiny rosebuds... so delicate!

The stamping was done with my new anniversary set by My Sentiments Exactly.

Hope your day's going well. It's extremely hot here, which I like because I'm always so cold. But then the Penmaker turns the AC on and I have to run outside every now and then to warm up. LOL!

Joie de Vivre Birthday Card

Feeling kind of sleepy on this sunny Sunday afternoon, after having a lunch of salad and a grilled cheese. During the week we only have a piece or dish of fruit, so basically the overload of food is the reason. A nap would be welcome, but I'll probably continue on with this post... just because I need to do it.

My card is entirely made with Graphic 45 French County....

plus one Petaloo textured bloom, crocheted lace, and a tiny garden hat.

The black doily was cut with Sizzix Vintage Doily.

Some French Country chickens as a border... which remind me of the darling chicks we saw for sale at the farm store last week.
Hope you're enjoying your Sunday and are much more alert and active than what I am.

Life Is But A Dream Birthday Card

Happy Friday friends! Hope you're all well and gearing up for a big weekend.
Tomorrow we have a baby shower to attend, but for tonight, we're just chillin'. Not much going on here, which is just fine with me.

I created this birthday card awhile ago and I'm not real sure about these paper patterns. I believe the polka dot is from Julie Nutting's Belle Vie collection and the green one is from Bo Bunny's Pincushion collection. The image is a Crafty Secrets publications.

My flowers are by I Am Roses. My leaves are Distressed inked file folder cut with Spellbinders Foliage, with a coat of Ranger's UTEE, heat set for some gloss.

The Life Is But A Dream sticker is also from Julie's Belle Vie. The lace is from my stash.

The frame was made with Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals and Classic Ovals dies.

Sunflower Happy Anniversary Card

Greetings, my friends! I'm having a rather happy day going through a box of very old photographs of people I don't know from places I haven't been. What fun!!! It's a huge box just full of really cool stuff my daughter gave me last year to sell in my eBay shop. Lots of vintage photos (some extra vintage) and prize ribbons, birth announcements, really neat things that where once part of a family... it just makes me wonder how this came about. Did the whole family die out, or did the last ones remaining not care about their heritage? What ever the cause, I'm now the one to go through all these treasures and try to find a home once again for them.

My sunny sunflower anniversary card is a combination of ingredients. The papers are from Graphic 45's French Country 6x6 Patterns & Solids. The polka dot banner was made from a scrap laying on my desk, stamped with a new set from MSE I bought last week... Anniversary Innies & Outies.

My flowers are from I Am Roses. The leaves were made with Spellbinders Foliage dies from that same polka dot scrap and inked heavily with Peeled Paint Distress ink then glossied up with Ranger UTEE. The sunflower charm was a gift from Linda at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. It's tied with ivory May Arts burlap string from her shop as well.

The pretty sunflower image and white and yellow button were gifts also from Linda. The text scalloped heart die cut was purchased on Etsy ages ago.

Pretty much a mixture of goodies all rolled up into one card. I hope it will be a blessing!

Life Is Good Seaside Theme Card

Pondering on the question of ocean verses mountains... which do you prefer? I'm definitely from the mountain camp, but I love creating beachy cards. This one is a good mix of papers. The Life Is Good sheet coming from 7 Gypsies Lille collection and the others are older Creative Imaginations IOD patterns.

The cute image, anchor charm and nautical button where all gifts from Linda at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Teddy Bear Baby Card

With a $50 gift card in hand, I searched the aisles at Hobby Lobby for card supplies I wouldn't normally purchase. This cute teddy bear button was one of the items I selected, along with four other of his brown buddies.

This baby card was built entirely around him. The papers? Why Echo Park Bundle of Joy, of course! The dies are Sizzix Vintage Doily and Die-Namics Layered Label. Baby is a printed chipboard piece from the collection.

The Penmaker is at an event today, so I'm going to tackle cleaning his bookshelves. Eee gads... this just may be an all day happening. Not only does he have lots of books on history, he saves all types of   memorabilia. So much fun to clean! LOL!!!
Have a happy Saturday, friends!
