The Girl's Birthdays

Two of our granddaughter's birthdays are at the end of June and beginning of July, so our daughter wisely combines their party. Of course, in a short while that won't work for her, but at the age they are now, it does.

Both of these cards are make-overs from my older card stash. Believe me, you wouldn't recognize the original as being so. These are totally made-over except for the bases.

New trim, new Prima and I Am Roses flowers...

and a new focal image. This is another of those gifts from The Funkie Junkie Boutique... both the image and the fairy charm.

I cut up this spray of flowers to go farther. I still have half of it left to use on another project. It came in one of the Special Delivery kits I bought from Prima awhile ago. You should check those out... they're a real bargain if you love Prima goodies like I do.

I made the frame by cutting with two Spellbinders' Deckled Rectangles. The doily was cut with Sizzix Vintage Doily. As you can see... lots of layering with 3-D foam tape. Addiction?

The base that's mostly covered up looks like My Mind's Eye paper, so I tried to match it by using their Lost & Found 6x6 paper pad of Madison Avenue. A perfect fit!

Now this card is a little more recognizable, but still pretty well covered over. Thankfully I have enough papers to come up with a pattern that's close.

I added the piece with the 3 which is October Afternoon cut with Spellbinders Labels One. The word stickers are Authentique Diction. These puppies are really old. The three green rhinestone were another gift from FJB and matched the tiny one that was already on the heart.

I updated with an image cut from an 8x8 paper pad of Graphic 45's called An ABC Primer. I re-arranged my flowers... took out some and added two from I Am Roses along with May Arts ivory burlap string bows. I believe that green leaf stick pin came from Maya Road and the little roses came in one of the old Pixie Dust kits. These cards are just a riot of memories. I love using up my stash!!!

Thank you for stopping by!

There's just something about fairy images that draw me right in, and your have really decorated around that image in such a gorgeous way! I can't stop staring at it! LOVE IT! Linda is such a generous lady, that charm is lovely, adding that to my wish list! hugs :)

They are beautiful. I'm sure the girls will love them.

P/s: Would you consider changing the font on your blog? It's actually very hard to read when everything is in capital letters. Thanks.

Isn't it funny how we attach so many memories to old paper collections and stash goods? LOVE that you are going back into your supplies and using them. I really, really need to do that, too. I think you found such fun things for your granddaughter's cards. Loving the vintage puppy image, and the story book one, too. The little fairy and charm are just perfect as well. Adorable!
