Happy Birthday in Purple & The Penmaker's Wood

My latest pocket card is layers of Graphic 45 cuts from Secret Garden, Place in Time and Time to Flourish. One thing I like about G45 collections is the small cuttable images and sentiments. You can easily create a card and have everything you need without buying extra embellishments.

I did add a bunch of goodies on to this one, however. I do have a rough time in knowing when to quit.
I put a piece of lavender trim from my stash down the right side for a softer touch...

wood butterflies,

a scrap of an old ecru crocheted doily, flowers from Petaloo and I Am Roses,

a fussy-cut butterfly, the sentiment and violet stamp image (with a tiny rose attached with a mini clothes clip) from the paper, and a book page heart die-cut.

For my tag, I added another wood butterfly, wrinkled seam binding ribbon and lots of purple fibers from Darice.

Now about the Penmaker's wood... remember I mentioned the other day about him stabilizing wood, well this is what he made with his first attempt. It turned out beautifully, so I can only see him doing even better results in the future.

This is wood he got from Arkansas when he and our son went down for the preliminary work on the new movie.

Winter has hit here with high winds and snow. I'm planning on holing up in my studio and working on cards. I hope you're all staying warm!

Thanks for stopping by today!

OMGoodness, what a stunning card, Linda! You always amazing me with your layers and details and dimension on your projects, and I love how you spotlight a color, too. The purple here just pops! So fun!
And that pen is gorgeous! LOVE the wood!

Oh I am so loving this springtime eye candy! So much needed on a cold and dreadful day. The composition on this card is wonderful! Truly inspired!

A purple delight! It takes talent to know how to pull those bits and pieces together. Lovely job my friend. The Penmaker is doing awesome work as always. Stay warm and have fun. Hugs!
