Happy Birthday And Anniversary

Our pastor's birthday is
today, as well as our daughter and son-in-laws anniversary.

This is the birthday card
I created using (of all things) Kaisercraft's Miss Empire. It's not just a feminine collection, but lends itself quite well to masculine projects. The oranges and browns are rich and bold... the "steampunkness" is great to embellish.

Lots of metals here
to bring out the masculine look of the papers. The gears and pen nib are from Idea-ology and the screw heads and wingnut are Prima.

There's a stamped kraft
tag tucked in behind the mat, adorned with more metal... an Idea-ology word stick and a key from an Etsy shop that's tied with a May Arts natural burlap string bow.

It's all edged with
Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

This is the card I
sent to my dd and sil. It's a combination of 7 Gypsies Conservatory and Glitz Vintage Blue... both older collections.

I used Alterations
Vintage Cabinet and Distressed Doily dies. That background is a piece of Canvas Corp flute in white that is misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang Creme Brulee Cream Starburst. The feather is from Hobby Lobby and the bloom is by I Am Roses.

The bird was cut
with a Sizzix Sizzlet #5 Bird die... LOVE this die! A must have for everyone!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Linda

What fabulous cards, Linda! I LOVE the steampunk look to the first. Way to rock a masculine design from a feminine collection. It is FAB! And the anniversary card is beautiful, too. Love the corrugated board and love the vintage label. The feather looks so cool, too!
